2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

Our last day here.

Got to talk to Teena and hope you are feeling better. Sadly she told me Justin Bieber was not here and I couldnt spot him in the lobby like I did last trip. Hmm, Teena maybe you should call me the Justin Bieber lady:)

Teena, my dh also stood in the secret spot today:)

Saw a bride and groom in the Cinderella coach right outside the Beach Club, beautiful

The main pool is too noisy

If you have a water view out front room you can hear the movie in your room, very loud

Oh and if you are a Diser and your dd said that I had a big butt when she couldnt get on the elevator with my dh and my wheelchair, you can tell her, why yes, I do have a big butt.

And if you are a diser who got to nap while your dh took your 3ds to the pool, your 3 year old was adorable!

And I doubt this was a diser but the family with the 2 kids running wild in cape may buffet, hmm. You will remember my dh and the other family whose table your ds crawled under etc.

More later

Tell your hubby to keep the secret. I share that spot with very few people!! Went to the doctor today and got some meds for my feet and back and I think the stomach problem has finally gone completely away! I'm feeling much better. I slept 12 hours last night after limping to the car after work.

Missoutandabout, I love your daily planning ideas! What will tomorrow bring??? :) I'm all aboard on an extra night at ASM to make room for a relaxing first day at the MK. Before you know it, you'll be adding a day to the end of your trip. ;) Gotta love Disney and these Disboards! They are both the best!!!!! Happy Planning. :) Oh, tell the DH the extra night is his Father's Day gift or an extra Mother's Day gift for You!

Oh Teena...I can't believe your still slightly under the weather!!! And there is NOTHING worse than your feet and back bothering you while you have to stand at work!!

I hope you can relax the next few days before heading back to work Sunday!!!

My DBF and I (okay mostly him) have been going through some rough times (with talks of a move half way across the country for the two of us being tossed around for greener pastures :scared:) so this vacation, besides being a birthday celebration and our first vacation together is looking to become either a celebration of things FINALLY looking up or a much needed getaway from our lives...

I'm hoping with for for the former... I'm thinking the splurging we're doing on this trip is going to be much needed.

On the plus side I was able to get us all the ADRs we wanted! Looking at about half familiar restaurants and half new experiences, with one of them finally getting me to AKL! But the one I may be most excited for is a birthday dinner (on my birthday!) at Yachtsman! Going to be so nice to have a good dinner and then just walk back to our room to indulge in food coma :rotfl:

Not that you were asking for it, but I wanted to send you a big  My DH and I were together (dating through college & after) for 4 years before we got engaged. We (also) moved to a new state, from MD to SC. I have to say, things weren't always great, but it made us stronger and closer through it all. Two years later we had our dream WDW Wedding and have been super ever since! Sometimes you just need to grow together :goodvibes Enjoy your trip!!

Heads Up, Yacht & Beachers... Especially those who are new to the forum.

I'll be starting up a new thread in a few days. When the thread gets to around 250 pages, the moderators like us to start up a new thread. I'll let everyone know when it is time to move.

Good night!

Teena, Sorry to hear you've been under the weather. I hope you are feeling better soon. :flower3:

I'm down 8 lbs.
Congrats!
This is so funny, and all-too-familiar! :rotfl2:

I can do online check-in tomorrow!! I can't believe it! A question: My sister is arriving a few hours before me. When I do online check-in, will I have to print out something to show? If so, will she need a copy of it, since she'll be arriving before me? Also, since she's getting there first, should she just tell them hold on the my KTTW card, so I can pick it up when I arrive, or will they automatically give it to whoever checks in first? I've never arrived at WDW separately from the rest of my party before, so I don't know what to expect... Thanks!
We never needed anything but ID when we did online checking. Not sure about your other question.

Wait! What???

There are a few folks there right now who are checking in during there trips, and a few more who are travelling next week-

Can you give us a toiletries report, please!

Pictures, upon your return, would also be appreciated.
Our toiletries were the same the first week in May that they have been for a while - h2o I think?

Will someone please explain to me how to add a ticker? I went to the site and tried several times, but no luck. I want to see my countdown to the the Beach Club!!:confused3

Thanks for the reply, 333disneymom! I appreciate it :thumbsup2 I ended up posting my question on the general resorts page, and got some info over there. I think I'm all set...

The GM of the Yacht and Beach Club resort is Mim Flynn- you can write to her at the following address (sorry, I don't have an email address for her)

Ms. Mim Flynn
General Manager, Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resort
1800 EPCOT Resort Boulevard
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

I think you are correct- for individual CMs, address a thank you card with as much info as you have:

Jane Doe, Beach Club Concierge or Joe, Beach Club Front Desk and use the address above.

Thanks for doing that- it really does have an impact!

Thank you so much for your reply! I couldn't pass up an opportunity to express how wonderfully we were treated and how great of a time my little princess had. The staff really went above and beyond quite a few times for us! I am still :goodvibes about our vacation!

Here are the instructions I have in the FAQ post on Page 1. Please try following these, but if you run into trouble, let me know so that I may revise the description.

How do I create a ticker?

Find a ticker you like on someone's post. Click on it and it will take you to the site where it was created. You can then customize the background picture, text and dates.

When you are finished, a code will be created that you can copy and paste into your signature.

The code will look something like this:

{url=http://distickers.com/ticker/}{img}http://distickers.com/ticker/tickers/7xmp2twsyl9lfoey.png{/img}{/url}

note: I have replaced the brackets [ ] with braces { } so the address could appear instead of the ticker.

Go to your User CP (upper left corner of this site)
Under Your Control Panel, you will find Settings and Options.
Here is where you can Edit Signature.

Copy and Paste the code from the ticker site you used into your signature.

The ticker, and anything else you add to your signature (smilies, names, past trips, links to trip reports) will appear at the bottom of all of your posts.

Please note that you only get a certain amount of space for your signature, so it part of it is cutting off, you may need to condense some of the stuff above it.

Very excited about a new thread...because I've sorta gotten lost in this one. I wasn't really following along and now I feel like I'm on some other path somewhere. I can see you guys over there on that path, but I can't seem to get there from here. LOL

I feel the same way sometimes when I log in after a few days or even a week I have to skip ahead so I can try to keep up! :rotfl2:

A lot can happen in a relatively short amount of time... A lot of strange things. Especially in this... my 'Mind of Madness' :crazy2::laughing: I have news for the two camps: the 2+2 camp and the 4+1 camp. It's a tie. Kinda sorta. A tie but with the 4+1 winning logistically but the 2+2 winning emotionally.

I sent my husband an email consisting of the words: "Tee and Hee" to which he didn't respond but asked what crazy schemes I was working on when he called on his way home. He knows me so well. I blamed the scheming and escalated insanity on you lovely Dis'ers as I always do. After much debunking of the "1 Night of All-Star Movies, 1 Night at CR and 4 Nights at our dreamy BC" plan, he made a suggestion. For him to even talk about Disney with any earnest is, in itself, quite a feat. He's truly turned into a fan, just not nearly as living-breathing-full-on-Disney-mental as we all here happen to be. :goodvibes

Here's the newest plan. Please feel free to critique and make suggestions. As always, I welcome the insight...

4 Days Parks & 1 Night MNSSHP – 2 Nights POR / 4 Nights BC
Day -1: Latest N/S flight from Chicago, Check-in at POR ... Royal Guest Room!
Day 0: Leisurely morning gobbling down beignets then a day at MK.
Day 1: Bell Services Bags to BC, Ferry Boat to DTD, Lunch in DTD, Taxi to BC, Check in at CL, Swimming, Boardwalk in PM
Day 2: Walk to HS, Lunch at 50's Prime Time. Boat to BC / Boat to DHS / Starring Rolls and Fantasmic
Day 3: Breakfast at Swalphin's Fresh Market; Swimming in A.M; Prerequisite nap, P.M. at MNSSHP
Day 4: Day at Epcot
Day 5: Swim, Day at AK, DHS or Epcot (depending on how we feel), Cry, Fly Home. Spend an eternity wanting to go back.

Whatcha think?

So, we scrapped CR and its convenient walking distance and, on my husband's suggestion, we checked on availability at moderates. Lo and behold, POR had Royal Guest Rooms available with the room only discount. :lovestruc I showed him the pictures and his eyes lit up; the price being less expensive than the nights at ASM and CR was a bonus, too. Even though we ditched the cool "walk to MK" factor, he and I are both quite excited about this newest plan. It's letting us do MK at an even more relaxed pace (which is why I was going for the 2+2 plan in the first place) and getting us an extra day at the parks at the end (4+1's!). Solves our "boring last day" dilemma too. One other thing I realized, I'm sure lots of you suffer from this ailment too: the "Night Before Disney Insomnia." I'm hoping I'll actually be better rested when we get there. I am, however, not willing to bet a dime on it. Can I breathe now?

I really appreciate the feedback from you lot. Sorry for using everyone as a 'sounding board' but I absolutely knew I'd get top-notch advice. :grouphug:
