2011 Yacht & Beach Club FAQ, Part III- DO NOT POST HERE- Summer/Fall

Hey there BC/YC experts. We're booked for dinner at Cape May on our arrival day. I'm sort of wondering if there will be anything for the kids and I to eat. I'm not worried about DH - I booked it with him in mind. Anyway, the kids and I don't eat meat or fish, seafood, etc. and we're picky eaters in a nutshell. Are we doomed?

Thanks in advance for your insight. :thumbsup2

The menu for Cape May was posted a few pages back. Not sure exactly where, so I will just reprint it. You can look it over and decide if there is enough there to be worth it for the rest of the family.

Another option for arrival night is the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. That's what we did on our last trip. They offer crab legs (not all you can eat, but a good amount) and perhaps there are things on that menu that would appeal to you instead.

I don't know how I missed that menu. I'm usually pretty good at keeping up with the thread. *sigh* Thanks for reposting!

I replied over on the other thread, too. Unfortunately there is no longer a playground at the Beach Club. I'm not sure when it was removed, but this is what the area looks like now:

As someone on the other thread commented, I think there is a playground at the Boardwalk.

Here's what I know about the BC playground: It was definitely there in March 2010 and July of 2010. I had it on my list of things to photograph during our February 2011 trip. Unfortunately, by February 2011, it was gone. So when I took the photo above, I also asked a CM at SAB about the playground. He told me they recently removed it to create more room for lounge chairs, and that was intended to be a long-term change. As you can see in the photo, they added chairs around the perimeter of the sandy area in the back.

The good news is that the playgrounds at the Dolphin and BWI are great! I know there has been some conversation about whether resort guests can "playground hop" and I don't know the official answer. But we stayed at both Dolphin and BWI this year, and our youngest son loved those playgrounds. I especially enjoyed the Dolphin playground - great views! I don't have photos of the BWI playground, but there are a few on allears.net. Here's the Dolphin:

I don't eat fish. I love the ribs. I also love their macaroni and cheese, lots of salads, there is normally a pasta dish, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, red boiled potatoes, pizza, corn bread, green beans ... that's all I can think of at this second.

The beverages are not extra unless that just started in the last month. And the crab legs are definitely all you can eat ... everything is ... again, unless that has changed in the last month. As of last month, one price for everything, beverages included. Only thing extra was speciality drinks and alcohol and of course the tip.

I believe you are right about the beverages- I just copied and pasted this from the allears site.

The comment about the crab legs not being AYCE refers to the servings at Captain's Grille. As Teena says, the crab legs are unlimited at the Cape May.

Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to report that my wife and I spent three wonderful nights at the BC last week, and even though it rained, we loved it so much that we bought into the BCV right before we came home! We spent our last day in WDW walking around the BCV and drooling with anticipation for our next stay as official DVC owners. We did get to spend one day at SAB before the heavens opened up, but our highlight was lunch at Beaches and Cream. In one word....awesome!

Congrats!!! Guess I'll be seeing alot of you!

Bob and I can't figure out what they do with those B&C burgers but they are definitely the best!

5 more days until we get there! I'm so excited!
This is probably my last trip to the BC for a while :sad2: (at least by our standards....I've been so spoiled with my annual pass the past two years! One trip a year sounds so depressing, and yet I know that if we can manage that, I'll still be incredibly spoiled!)

So in the meantime, I'm planning to live up this trip, and the weather report makes it sound like I'll finally get to enjoy SAB!:cheer2:

Hope everyone with trips coming up soon has a great time!

Teena are you working this Sunday the 23rd?

DH and I are hoping to meet you first thing (after breakfast of course) if you're there?

We love Beaches & Cream, and are always too full to have one of their sweets. Next time, we eat dessert first!!!

We didnt have any issues when we used the BWI playground. Infact DD was the only one there. I think it was around 4pm.

If you are not quite up to the kitchen sink then go after the No Way Jose. Can be split easily by two!

In 5 days we will be in BC!!!!!

We took one of our kitties to the vet yesterday because he has been vomiting since Saturday. Everytime he ate, it came right back up....

The funny thing is that it started after we brought all the suitcases into the livingroom for easier packing. The vet could find nothing wrong so she agreed he may just be anxious and gave him some medication to settle his belly. So far he is doing good.

BUT.... while looking at the x-ray of his belly, she did find bladder stones. So my baby will need surgery when we get home. :sad1:
