Well we are FINALLY packing. lol I've been stressing my DH out that we hadn't started yet and we leave tomorrow. We're hoping the flight isn't delayed (as the same flight for today was delayed by 3 hours :scared1: )

Todays weather was so bad I can understand the delays but tomorrow should be better for you have a safe travel.

vicki c We had a lovely GV room, and if we looked to the right, could also see part of the lake, and Boardwalk.
The bonus was we could see the higher illuminations from Epcot too!

I took Teena's advice, and the only room request was full balcony. :thumbsup2

Teena even though we aren't at BC :sad1: in Jan, I am coming over for a visit :goodvibes looking forward to seeing you again.

Thank you Sue! I think we're going to splurge for a lagoon view since we can get a (pretty) good AP discount - not 40% but I think about 30-35%. Nothing will ever beat the 4/3 offer days which was 43% off your room - we stayed Poly CL on that offer!

I would think that I'd have seen this mentioned, but does BC still have a little 4-cup drip coffee pot with the cafe valet packets? I just saw in another thread about coffee that WL and some BWVs have a Cuisinart pod brewer of some kind, so I thought I'd ask. Thanks, y'all!

Hi there....We have reservations at the Polynesian for next June but from what I hear they are having some major issues and a "big announcement" is planned for Monday...likely to be revealed that she will be undergoing major renovations by 2013. Now while I know this will not happen during our planned stay, I still worry that laying out so much money for this trip that I just am not willing to take the risk of a less than stellar stay. So I would like to ask those who have had recent stays to give me an honest opinion of their stay. We love the Beach Club also and have never stayed here. So please if anyone can help us with any updated information would be greatly appreciated. thanks

True! We stayed at Poly with a 45% AP rate, those were the days :goodvibes

Our room had the 4 cup drip pot. It sounds like eventually all the resorts will get the pods, I hope anyway.

I had not seen anything about an announcement for the Poly. Our first BC stay is coming up in Feb. Very excited! You came to the right place for info and I know that someone can give you some updated info. Do you have any specific questions that you want answered? That will help some.

Yup, big announcement on Monday - the Poly's birthday. Rumors are potentially that they are taking the whole place down and rebuilding anew. I guess we'll find out Monday...in the meantime, I of course, have switched our July Poly ressies over to Beach Club...again. :headache:

Are you looking for Beach Club reviews or Poly reviews? It sounds like you were asking for recent Poly reviews so I would say that's a good question for the Poly FAQ thread. We love both resorts although I haven't stayed at the Poly for 2 years, we have never had any issues with the resort. Haven't had any at BCV either, or the 1 night we stayed at the BC Resort a few years ago.

I'm so excited that I'm less than 2 months away from my first xmas season trip :santa:

Quick question for a soon to be first time AP holder. I bought my AP online, so I'll be picking it up when I get to WDW. I'm booked with the AP rate, so I know I'll need to show the front desk my AP at some point, but do I need to get it before checking in? It's not a big deal if I can't, I can just walk over to the IG and pick it up, but it might be easier to check in first, send my husband to the room with the suitcases and then go pick up my AP while he's doing that.

Will they let me do this, or will they not let me check in until I can produce my AP?

Thanks :)

You won't need the AP at check-in - if they ask for it, just say you are going to buy it and you can bring it by the desk later/next day. Some trips we haven't been asked at all.

I'm sure this is probably answered somewhere in this thread, so I apologize in advance...but, after we're done eating at Yachtsman Steakhouse, would it be faster to walk to DHS or take a boat?

And, I'm second-guessing myself here...do busses run from park to park? Could we take a bus from DHS to MK? If not, then we'd walk back to a resort after DHS closes to get on a bus, right?

6 of one/ half-dozen of another

The answer to your question will depend on whether a boat is at the dock when you are ready and how fast you walk.

My family has raced the boat back from DHS to the BC two years in a row. Both times we beat the boat, barely, walking at a pretty brisk pace.

Factoring into the decision can be the weather conditions (hot/rainy or cool/pleasant) and how tired you are from your day. Talking a leisurely stroll after a wonderful meal would get a :thumbsup2 from me.

There should be a bus from DHS to MK. AFAIK, buses do run between the 4 theme parks (except maybe not MK-EP, anyone know. There is one between EP-DHS, right, in addition to the boats?).

No buses between DTD and the 4 parks, though.

after a big meal at yachtsman I would go with the walk to the studios. We usually make the walk from the beach club to hs and back..as long as the weather is ok

I think you may have to take the DHS bus to the TTC and monorail or ferry from there. I honestly don't remember because it has been so long since we have tried it.

As for walking vs the boat, we hoofed it to DHS last summer as a boat was pulling out from BWI. We got to the park at the same time as the boat, but made it to security before those passengers got off. We were walking pretty fast and I don't recommend doing it in the heat (or with little legs that tire easily).

HTH!

I see you are staying at the Contemporary on your ticker.

If you are at Hollywood Studios when it closes you can just take a bus from HS to go straight to the Contemporary, i think they share a bus with the poly

If you wanted to go to the MK from DHS you can just take a bus directly to the Magic Kingdom but im pretty sure it goes to TTC and then you would have to monorail or boat it over. Your other option is bus from DHS to contemporary walk to MK
