Thank you! The box fan would be for white noise. I think I'll buy the white noise machine or a white noise app for the iPhone.

I have a white noise app for my iPad so I'm sure it's for the iPhone too. It's fanfreakingtastic! It's called "White Noise" if you can believe it. You can make playlists, select from lots of different noises, set a timer, set an alarm, etc. Highly recommend it.

At least the UK has the sense to put phonebooks at their public telies...

I hope Beach Club takes notice of these very important books! :teacher:

OMG I am SCREAMING WITH LAUGHTER!!! It's 1 am and my family thinks I have totally lost it (yet again).

I cannot even begin to explain to them why this picture is so funny....

God I love this thread!!!

The other thing you might want to consider is that the clock radio/ipod dock has an FM radio setting. Maybe you can set that to a static-y station and drift off to that.

Teena gets all the credit. She was the brains behind this one.... Just wish I had brought a noodle to Epcot!

This was our most complicated WDW trip EVAH! Cause I had to change my dates after a lot of availability filled up at BCV. Also, I was cheap the first night with a 9pm arrival so opted for one night at Pop...

Here was our stay time line:

9/11-9/12 Pop Century - DH & DD had to be at flag pole in front of Epcot at 8am with their YES tickets. I drove them to front of Epcot, got tickets, and left for BCV to check us in...

9/12-9/15 Beach Club Villas  We were in a studio and fell in love with the Beach Club. We were lucky enough to have our room ready by about noon, which is very unusual for the villas. Got our request of a high floor, Epcot view. I now totally get the Beach Club smell, it is wonderful and I want to bottle it. The front desk staff were nice, helpful. Teena was off, but I would get to meet her in the next day or so! :cheer2: DD fell in love with the pool and so did her parents. She would not go down the slide though :scared1:

Haha, by day 2 or 3, I talked her into it. I told her if she didn't go down the slide than no waterpark cause she didn't need a waterpark if she wouldn't go down the slide. That did it and after one trip couldn't keep her off of it. I swear SAB could keep a kid occupied for hours/days/weeks/years!!! :lovestruc

Boardwalk Villas 15-18 By the 15th we had to move over to Boardwalk. I checked in at 7:30 but not surprisingly, nothing was available. Wanted text alert, but FDCM advised that they had been having problems with people not receiving texts so we would get a phonecall. This was fine and we headed out to AK. We spent the day at AK, than late lunch at Sanaa (very relaxing, watching the animals), back to resort around 4:30; never got a phone call; had to schlep to FD to find our room had been ready for hours. At least we didn't need it earlier. DD was disappointed in the pool. Funny thing is we had stayed at the Boardwalk in 2010 and she loved it. But after SAB, it just paled in comparison. We changed our waterpark day so it would be on a Boardwalk pool day rather than a Beach Club pool day. Another funny thing about the pool were the pool games. At Beach Club all the kids played the games; At the Boardwalk, all the adults played the games. There were tons of adults, but only a handful of kids. Was opposite at the Beach club... But we all LOVED the 1 bedroom we had at Boardwalk. They are NICE!!! Hopefully we'll be able to get a 1 bedroom next year at the Beach Club, that would be totally wicked!

Before we knew it we had to go back to the Beach Club. We consolidated our clothes so we could live out of one piece of luggage for the next few days. The other two pieces spent the rest of the trip in the car(s).

BCV 18-22nd We were so glad to be back home and were sure that Beach Club is our home. No other resort has ever felt this right! Had a problem with our rental car's computer and had to return it on Monday night. I had to :drive: to the airport which I was NOT happy about!:charac2: I expressed my displeasure and got a nice upgrade :car: and some free gas...

But I digress, the last few days of our Beach Club stay were our best of the trip, but we missed the space of a 1 bedroom. We'll really try to make a 1 bedroom happen for next year....

Overall the moves added stress that I did not enjoy. Unfortunately, I changed jobs and HAD to change the dates. Next year, at least I know my dates should be pretty o.k.

4 hotels in 10 days was not much fun, but our trip was wonderful overall. Teena looks great in her formal wear and beach wear and Bob was lookin' fine in his beach/card wear. The only stess in the last few days was trying to keep noodles and phone books away from Teena!!!

BTW, my DD started a brawl in Garden Grill between 2 famous chipmunks on our last night there. WDW will never be the same. She did manage to break up the fight eventually, but I have a feeling they will come to blows again!!!

Had some great times in the park and SAB! Phonebooks were o.k. but not PURPLE!!!

Thanks so much for this!!! Cracked me up this morning! :rotfl:

And in the spirit of passing along trivial information that clogs my braincells- here are the phone numbers for the booths in the UK. I intended to make calls during our last visit to EPCOT to watch the reactions, but I forgot to program my phone. Had the numbers on a list and I swear every time I went by I had either my phone OR the numbers but never both!!!

Phone numbers for booths in United Kingdom

Right Booth 407-827-9861 (closest to the road)
Left Booth 407-827-9862
Center Booth 407-827-9863

Other phones in the world showcase

Canada 407-827-9884
Morocco 407-827-9747 (back by Restaurant Marrakesh)
Germany 407-827-9662 (at the restrooms near the model railroad)

International calling rates may apply (not really)

Some people will call the number from home to get a fun Disney fix between trips. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the really great trip review. Wow, 4 resorts!!! I can see how that would be nerve-wracking!

Glad you got to hang out with Teena and Bob a bit- your lovebug/noodle saga was hilarious and very uplifting! Thanks!

Just had to comment on your use of the adjective wicked (i.e. AWESOME). This lifelong New Englander loves it!

I'm glad to hear how much your family loved the Beach Club!

Hey guys ... I'm off to the Disney Magic in 90 minutes.

I've had such fun meeting so many new Y&B disers in the last week or so ... you guys and your reports/pictures on our thread have added many great hours of laughter and smiles. Thank you!!! I've got the best job in the world! Where else do you get to meet and make such wonderful friends.

I'll miss the laughs while being without the computer for a week. Since you all know I don't have a camera, I will try to get some pictures when we arrive on the Magic on my trac phone and I'll send it on to Jeanne and tell her to post it on facebook. I know some of you are friends on facebook with Jeanne so feel free to copy and post the picture(s) here on OUR thread.

See you all in a week. I'll be going through Tastycake withdrawal on the ship ... I just may take a few from my freezer along with me and WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BRING NOODLES ON BOARD. My phone book, however, is packed for my reading pleasure!

Bon Voyage, Teena!!! Have a great time! :boat::sail:

Thanks for sharing this adorable picture of Lily at her first softball game!!! Really brightened a dark weekend here in the North East. Just about to leave for the first soggy flag football game of the day (9 am). The next one is at 6 PM (bring your own lights!)

Have fun on the Magic Teena!!!! It was so wonderful meeting you last week! Wish I was still Beach Club livin'......

We like to check-in for our flight exactly 24 hours in advance for the best seating assignment or seating zone (depending on the airline.) But that's tough when we're out at the parks! So this is what BC has done for us in the past:

1) When staying non-CL, we called down to the front desk and they took all our flight information. At the 24-hour mark, they checked us in and printed our boarding passes. The next morning (departure day) we stopped by the front desk and picked up our boarding passes.

2) When staying CL, the CL CMs assisted us. I stop by the desk to tell the CMs (for our most recent stay, Carrie, who was very helpful) that we'd like to check in at the 24-hour point. They always take care of it. In this most recent example, Carrie she said she would keep an eye on the clock and check us in. We happened to be in the lounge at that 24-hour mark, so she stopped by to ask about seating preferences and printed out our boarding passes moments later.

In both cases, very easy!

I've checked in at the outside airline check-in desk in the past, but that doesn't work for us if we're out and about at the 24-hour mark. I remember having some difficulty at both Poly and AKL on trips earlier year because they wanted to run it through that airline check-in desk and the hours are limited. AKL's front desk would assist, but required me to be present for the airline check-in and would not allow me to just phone in my request, like BC. BC has been consistently great with airline check-in!
when we checked out on CL on 9/14, we were told we all had to check in outside at the airport check-in...and i had thought we could do it through CL but was told no...oh well...still didnt take away from our stay...loved the BC

Hopefully this time away from noodles will provide you with an opportunity to appreciate us more. There is talk in the Quaker noodle community about starting a 12 step program for people who have a tendency toward whacking when using noodles. We are teaming up with the Love Bug community and the Phone Book community as well as a group of remorseful singing construction workers to work together for Resort peace.

We are meeting at noon in the solarium. Please bring hummus and a yoga mat.

Shalom,

Pastina
