We went to the Concierge desk to ask about getting to Epcot for the backstage tour, they told us to take the cab, keep the receipt then turn it in for credit. Guess it's cheaper for them to do that then to provide bus transportation for those that need to go to the front of Epcot and are not able to enter at IG.

Thanks for the reply!! Too bad they didn't tell us when we asked for instructions on getting to our tours. But now I know in case we ever do another tour. Thanks again! :goodvibes

Congratulations Teena on your absolutely precious granddaughter! Lily was the name I had for DS but alas he was a boy. LOL.

So I was texting DHs cousin tonight and she says her DH didn't book CL at all - he spent the same money and booked a one bedroom villa! So, where are they? I'm ok with that because it takes the pressure off - if we don't get a discount I can always change the reservation to non-CL. I just couldn't stand the idea of their family going in to the lounge and us not having access, KWIM? As for them having a bigger room, that's not a big deal at all. Them not being CL really gives us more flexibility. He said he wasn't given the opportunity to reserve CL when he booked online... That seems strange!

Plus I do NOT want a kitchen!!! We're on vacation. I don't even wanna make toast, dammit.

I have a few breakfast questions. Would love to get feedback.

1) ROOM SERVICE 0 Has anyone ordered room service for breakfast? How was the food? Were the portions large (enough for sharing)? Anyone ordered with the DxDP and what do you get (coffee)?

2) Which one has better food and better selection for breakfast - Cape May Cafe or Captain's Grille?

3) Does the Marketplace have a "side" of sausage or eggs for around $2.00? We have been able to use snack credits for such sides at other deluxes (Poly, AKL). Or what single-serves do they have for under $4?

EDIT to add: Cuuuute baby! Love the onesie. Congrats!

Congratulations to Teena and family!

Thank you so much for sharing your pictures with us. They bring a smile to my face! :)

1 = don't know
2 = Capt. Grille because you can get a breakfast buffet that has just about everything at the Cape May breakfast buffet or order off of a menu to wit: ""The Captain's Omelet" - Open-faced Cheese Omelet with Butter Poached Lobster, Potato, and Chive Cream $12.99" (OMG!!!!! It was AWESOME!!!!! :woohoo:) or Steak and eggs.

3 = Don't think they have sides and we used our snack credits for sumptuous pastries like the large and decadent Chocolate croissant or muffins

Edit = yes, that baby is darn fine ain't she!

Teena Congratulations to you and your family!!! :goodvibes

Baby Lily is just beautiful...princess:

I am sure that you are enjoying every minute together...

Dear Teena and family,

Paul Noodle here.

Congratulations on the new little 'Capellini' or Capa-lilly or, if she's wearing that German outfit I guess she would be your little Spätzle!

Much love!

The Noodle family!

Hi all! I don't think I have posted on this thread yet, which is odd, since we're going to BC one month from today! :cool1:

This will be our first ever trip to WDW (not counting the one when I was seven so long ago that it was pre-Epcot), and I've read through pretty much this ENTIRE BC thread. So thanks to everyone who has posted before for all the great tips and advice and photos. :goodvibes I can't wait for our vacation. I've literally had dreams of BC and SAB.:cloud9:

One question that I do have (and don't worry, there *will* be more;) ): many of you have suggested that a fun way to get to the MK from BC is to take the monorail from Epcot... does this presume one has park hopper tickets? Or is there some other way to get to the monorail?

I've been undecided about the PH option - its only an extra @ $200 to add to our 4 tickets, but still... that's a lot of souvenirs I could by. :teacher: My current itinerary doesn't really call for us to PH. We've got two munchkins (DS5 and DS7) and I really think PH would overwhelm them. One park per day (with an afternoon spent at SAB) seemed to be what we could manage.

I was going to play it by ear and add it there if we wanted it, but from reading posts here, it seems as if everyone seems to get the PH - partly to eat in Epcot (mmm:love:). But I do like the idea of taking the monorail when possible, and I know the munchkins would, too.

So BC/YC'ers... do you PH, and do you consider this worth the extra $$? And is there any other way to ride the monorail to MK?

PirateMommy - I'd skip the park hoppers and take the BC bus to MK ;) Your 1 park per day plan sounds nice.
You would definitely need admission to Epcot to enter and walk through to the front of the park to hop on the monorail. In the heat of summer, this walk might tire you out.
When we stayed at BC we took the bus to MK.

Personally, I couldn't imagine not getting parkhoppers (and we travel with our four year old son). We usually do a park in the morning for rope drop, then back to the resort to swim/nap, and the another park in the afternoon. I really appreciate being able to go and do whatever we want when we want.

For me, there would be little to no point to staying at the BC if I couldn't stroll on into EPCOT whenever I want, for whatever reason, even if its just to grab food or ride Nemo again.

good point. But would you buy them just to be able to catch the monorail on your way to the MK? That seemed like her question.

I think I ended up asking two questions, now that I re-read my post. And after I said I just had "one."

I appreciate everyone's feedback. A five minute walk to the World Showcase (from what I understand) is pretty appealing for whenever I want. My current plan is to do one park each the first 4 days, and a second MK the 5th. The tricky part comes for the 6th and 7th days, and that's when I think we most would want to PH. But between filling down time with Downtown Disney (otherwise known as home of the LEGO store for the munchkins) I had, in my own mind, decided against PH unless we really wanted it.

Decisions, decisions...

Love the photos!! She is so precious. Now back to read. Gone for a few hours sand I have almost 5 pages to catch up on.

Thanks everyone for the info on RC. I knew I saw highchairs in pics & a kids seating area. I always watch my kids & I can't stand if someone isn't watching theirs. I don't get why people are so unhappy at the "Happiest place on Earth". I am so excited to be taking a family vacation every year and not have to spend time running around doing errands. I guess I'll have to smile more :) than I already do

Another vote for parkhoppers here!

While I wouldn't get them just for the MK to BC transportation options (although we do love that monorail/cut through Epcot option) I think they are entirely worth it. But again, that's based on the way we spend our days at WDW. It's rope drop in one park (MK, AK, DHS), late afternoon break at BC and then dinner at Epcot. Sometimes we do a few rides before or after dinner and sometimes not. Epcot can be relatively low-key compared to other parks, depending on how you spend your time there. So it doesn't feel like the go-all-day park hopping that we used to do.

For us, parkhoppers really add to our enjoyment of BC - we love strolling out the international gateway at the end of the evening or just hopping next door for Illuminations, a snack or a Kim Possible mission! I think the issue for many YC/BC fans is that we develop too many favorite meals, snacks, drinks, etc. in World Showcase to give up park hopping! It's going to be very difficult for me in August because it's a non-parks visit for us and my Karamell Kuche pecan bar and Grey Goose Slushie are just minutes away! (Already asked IPO, and they can't add the pecan bar to the shopping list for me because it's not pre-wrapped - so sad!)

As much as i love park hoppers, I know they aren't for everyone. I have many friends who didn't park hop because it was too much for their first visit, or they weren't staying somewhere that made park hopping convenient. We also have friends who don't take an afternoon break and go all day in one park until after dinner (they aren't as attached to the Epcot dining options as we are, so they eat wherever they plan to be that day.) They have all enjoyed their trips as much as we do - so I know guests can have a fantastic time either way!

We have always used PH since our oldest was 15months old. I can't imagine not having them:confused: Staying right next to Epcot I will probably be there every night :rotfl: We have 1day that we will not have a PH & I'm nervous but we can't add it for the one day:mad: or I would.
I always go to RD & sometimes we stay the whole day. Or we will go to the resort to swim(since the kids always took nap in stroller) Then we may go eat somewhere at a resort or another park then watch fireworks in another park.
You have to figure out what will work best for your family. Hopefully they won't mind watching FW's from outSide of Epcot if you spent the day at AK since they close first.
Our last days we choose which rides we want to do one last time in each park and do them in 2 days We may do MK&AK one day & DHS/EP another day.
Good luck and have a magical trip.

Oh yeah welcome to the thread:cheer2:

Pixarmom summed it up best...look at how you are going to tour...
Will you go all day RD to fireworks/closing for AK? Don't do PH!
Will you take mid-day breaks & maybe Epcot sounds like a good relaxing evening full of many, many yummy treats? Get the PH.
