Hello YC/BCers! First-time BC thread poster here.

I have long dreamed of staying at the Beach Club (in my only deluxe stay so far, BC was booked up and I had to settle for GF:laughing:) and I am finally going. Thanks to this thread, I have been able obsess when I need to and now, thanks to the lovely little PIN I got this winter, we were able to manage a stay in May. Thank you so much to Dee and Teena for your helpful info. I have been lurking forever and feel like I know you guys personally. And all you other posters, thanks so much for answering questions. I don't think there's much left for me to learn. Now I just gotta go!!

Please add me to your May list, May 18-23. Woohoo!

:welcome: I'm new to the board too and new to the BC. Mostly I just lurk, but I faithfully read this thread several times a day!!!! We'll be at BC for the first time from May 20th- 25th. I hope you have an amazing time!

To everyone else, I pray for you all daily and hope everyone who is going through a tough time has brighter days soon.

:love::love::love:

Did I forget to mention that I will be at BC in just 23 more days????? :woohoo::yay::banana::woohoo::yay::banana:

Doesn't look like I am going to be able to keep a secret from my son for the December trip. My DS is going to have a major let down going to hit him this weekened that has nothing to do with him, so to make the blow less we are thinking about telling him where we are going to stay. Any ideas how to tell him in a fun creative way? Low cost!

Marltonmom will the Chippendales be playing Marco Pollo? I hope they stick around for my Aug check in :goodvibes

Teena I'm so sorry to hear about the skin reaction. Hope it's not too painful.

Thank you for the kind welcome. We'll be there some of the same days. I hope BC is on its best behavior for us ;)It's getting so close and there's so much to do! We're not even counting months anymore! It's just days!!

The Deluxe BC room numbers are: 1557, 2557, 3557, 4557, 3691 and 4691.

The rooms ending in 557 are closer to Epcot and the quiet pool and the rooms ending in 691 are above Cape May and close to SAB.

Thank You for your answer, Does anyone know the difference between the Standard vs Deluxe CL Rooms? Looks like the Size is the differenece in what I have read

You're welcome.

A Deluxe BC room is 533 SF and a STD. room is 380 SF. There is the addition of a small sitting area with a sofa, chair and coffee table in the Deluxe room and a marble floored entryway.

Thank you so much, I think I have made my decision, now if Disney will agree with me

We are staying at the Beach Club in June for three nights before our DVC stay, we are booked in Club Level Standard View. Are all the club level rooms in the Beach Club in a certain area, like on a specific floor, or are they spread out? I tried to do a search but it isn't working and I couldn't find this info on the first page.
Thanks!
Linda

All the regular cl rooms are on the 5th floor. You have to insert your "gold" room key into the elevator slot to get to the 5th floor. The deluxe cl rooms and suites are spread out on different floors.

During the summer, does the quiet pool get very crowded at the BC?

DH and I stayed at the Beach Club last summer and for the four days we were there we saw one family in the quiet pool. I can't speak for the entire summer, but that was our experience

Thanks for the info Robyn!

Thank you for the information. Looks like the place to be during the hot summer days.:thumbsup2

When we stayed in the deluxe cl room we had room 1557 which was a hop, skip and a jump away from the quiet pool. Lots of times we felt like we were in our inground pool at home - hardly anyone else!

A few times there were other guests there but it never felt crowded.

It was a great place to have DH take the kids in the quiet pool while I did laundry. We would get a table and have coffee or such while the laundry was getting done.

Usually we take a short-cut back from Epcot by the quiet pool to enter in the first available door to the BC to escape the summer heat :rotfl: It's never crowded at all.... the only exception we ran into last July was when they had to "evacuate" SAB due to a diaper leak for a couple of hours to shock the pool area:eek::rolleyes1 That's when we saw maybe 12-15 people there tops?

Can someone tell me about the kids club at the Beach Club? We have two 7 year olds and a 6 year old and were thinking it would be real nice to have a night out with DH and I alone, but I don't know much about the Kids Club, rules, costs, what it inclues, how to reserve a spot etc.

I have upgraded us to a Deluxe Club Level Room, it will be our first time staying Club Level and was wondering what do we do when we arrive? Do we check in at the front desk or is there a different place to check in? If we use Online Check In, do we just go to the Online counter? I am sure I will have alot of other questions as I get to thinking about things

I'm not sure about YC/BC but last year the IPO at POLY sent me an email a few weeks before our arrival with instructions for check in. We didn't do online check in. We just gave our names at the valet desk out front and they had a manager come out and greet us and another nice CM took us to the Hawaii building to check in.

My kids love the SandCastle Club at BC! They were only supposed to go there one night last summer but they liked it so much they ended up going three times!

We have them booked for two times for our upcoming trip.

I think the cost was $11 per hour, per child. This includes dinner. You make your reservation through Disney Dining just like a dinner reservation.

The only rules that I remember are that the kids must be potty trained and you leave your cell phone number and tell them where you are going to be. You fill out a little form about the child and then they give you a "kids menu" to order their dinner.

My kids can't wait to go back!

I'll be there Saturday and Sunday. See you soon! Treatments have been strange. Short and sweet - like less than 5 minutes. But I'm getting strange skin reactions below the area where they zap. Both doctors there said they have never seen anything like it.

They warned my step dad when he did cyberknife (a form of laser radiation) that his skin might react, sort of like a rash or burn (the radiation breaks down the skin cells sorta) but they gave him a cream to use. He put it on after every treatment just in case but he never showed up with an actual reaction. I can find out what cream he used if you like.

You know I feel like I am in a room with some of the best friends. My husband and I have been debating this with my DH. My doctor is trying to get me a scooter in general and just made me get a handicap tag recently. At almost 33 this is the most depressing thing I have had to face. I lived in Altamonte Springs, FL and was a part of the most wonderful marching band and then was in marching band in college. Years of "spran" ankels has caught up to me. We are finding out that I probably broke my left ankle a couple of times. Now I have bones have connected where they should not have and I have arthritis also. Surgery they want to do but when they start it will have to be done every 5 years on each ankle. I am trying to stretch this out as long as possible. I am a large woman, size 26 and have problems with thyroid and that hads more issues. My DH also a large man has problems with his knee. We have a 12 yr old going on 13 and I was held up with the fact that people will see two fat people in chairs while there son is walking being lazy.
Then last year I did not get any scooters and we only went into a park for a ADR and maybe hit a few things along the way but not much else because we both where in so much pain. Then three days before we left I stepped in a hole beside a sidewalk at the French Quarter and sprang my ankle and killed my knee. I got up the day before we left and got a push wheelchair to go to MK. My little man pushed me over to adventureland with my husband and I hated being a burden to my family. After last year being there for 10 days and only saw about a fourth of WDW in total. I left feeling that I wasted money.
So bottom line, I just booked two scooter with Apple, via earlier posts and I won't care if people think I am lazy or not! I am going to enjoy my vacation and not worry about being a burden on my kid this year.

Here is a picture of my Disney BOO BOO four days afterwards it looked worst on the second day. Get the the scooter, don't let this happen to you! I have nightmares of steping down wrong at the mk and getting ran over. I am not going to let this happen again.

I am older 58 but still have been dreading renting a scooter but your story is a great example of "better safe than sorry". I have numerous health problems and when at DL and our last trip at WDW in 2009 we ended up borrowing a wheel chair from the resorts and my DS and Ddil took turns pushing me but I did feel like a burden so I do plan on renting a scooter this trip especially since my knee tends to act up after too much walking.
