On a different note, what are you going to do this summer without a DMB summer tour? We are hoping that the rumors of an Atlantic City festival in July are true and we did see him in Nov in Philly, but summer concert are so much fun.

I believe they are going to do some one off shows and maybe a couple of milti-headliner stadium shows. With as many shows as they've done over the last 20 years I really can't complain.

So glad I found this thread! I am so excited that I will be there to run the 5K!

Just to reiterate, this years registration will definitely NOT include a MNSSHP ticket. I emailed RunDisney a few weeks ago about this because we are planning on attending the Friday night party and it seems so ridiculous to pay for a ticket one night and then have a ticket go to waste a few days later! I asked if there would be a choice of party night ticket OR if there would be an option to register without the ticket and they wrote back that it was not a part of registration at all this year.

On another note, I am anxiously awaiting being able to register! I really thought when they said February 14th, they meant all the events. I've been checking multiple times a day. Maybe I'll email again tomorrow and see if they can give me a ballpark of when that will open up so I can stop obsessing!!

I did just that the other day and this is the reply I got...

Registration will be open by mid-April for the 5K.

as of now 4 shows - randalls, alpine (or a city venue in the chicago area), gorge and atlantic city.

i personally would of liked to see them take the promised break because i think they need it...but cest la vie, i'm sure they'll take my money like they've been doing for over the past 10 years now

Thanks for the mid-April registration info-no I too can stop checking daily.

I definitely want to be near the front, even though we are not fast. Plus, if Disney has my money then DH can not back out

Speaking of DH- he booked 3 nights in Atlantic City for the festival dates in June. We only live 40 minutes from AC but I guess he wants to make a weekend out of it. I know we won't be going to all 3 shows....he has been to 39 shows and finally got Last Stop in Nov. made him so happy.

Anyone know what was in the 5k goody bag of refreshments last year? I'm running this event with my DD9 and part of what got her excited is the chance to dress up for the race and what goodies are hidden in that finish line treat bag she saw in 2010 pics.

I'm also planning on MNSSHP, and the 5k run.
But, I figure that Friday MNSSHP not the best idea..I'm thinking that a late night & candy on Fri would not equal a "fun" run at 7am the next morning. ?

That's a good point but Friday is the only MNSSHP during my trip so I'm just going to have to make the best of it! Nevermind the fact that I'm also planning on Food and Wine Friday during the day!! I certainly won't be in the BEST shape for the run but what can you do?!

Is Friday the only MNSSHP between Sep 24-and the 5K? If so, that is what we'll be doing too. Yikes! I keep toying with the idea of adding Sunday night onto our trip just to have one more day. Think I might really have to do it now.

It looks like it'll be on Tuesday the 27th too so you should be okay.

I just booked our airline tickets for a 2 week trip to Florida and this race is on the weekend we arrive......looks like I will have to run it

I just ran the Princess but was deadly sick with a fever so it was a horrible time and a horrible experience.....hoping I am i good health for this one!

We will attend the MNSSHP on the 27th though, it makes more sense for our family because our girls are only 9 and 7. I can't imagine them staying out late and then wanting to go the 5k the next morning.

yeah, we're only going the 28th through the 3rd of October and I'd rather do the party on Friday night as opposed to Sunday. Not sure if I'll attempt the 5K then on Saturday.

I'm doing MNSSHP the night before....I mean, we're not being timed and for me, it's really just about the experience of doing a disney race! So even if I walk the whole thing, I'm not going to sweat it. I only have 4 days!!

Um. Where have you guys seen the official dates for 2011 MNSSHP? Or are you just assuming they'll be held the same days as they were held last year around the W&D Half?
