2011 Holiday Tour. Who has booked and when?

Just booked this morning! My sis and I are all set for Nov 30 3:00 tour (there is only one on that day).

ETA: They no longer offer a AAA discount, just AP and Disney Rewards Visa.

The photo of you and your sister on the tour last year was great. You looked like you were having so much fun.

What a wonderful tradition for the two of you to share.

I have updated the list and added a note about the AAA discount. Thanks.

Have a great time

Mia

Weird about the AAA discount comment.

I actually booked mine back on the 17th for the 11/14 tour and got a AAA discount, my total was $217...at first she said she didn't see it on there, but put it in and said oh, I guess it does work. I wasn't able to use the AP discount as I haven't activated my pass yet, but that worked and I double checked the charge to make sure and it was correct. Matter of fact, I thought it was strange that she didn't ask for my AAA number, just sort of took my word that I had one?? :confused3

I'm a shy little lurkylurker but we're set for 27 November and would love to be added to the list

That's strange! I had an ap but it expires Nov. 13 so I wasn't sure whether or not I could use it to book the tour. The CM said I could use the ap and when I asked about AAA (just in case), he put me on hold while he went to ask and came back and said it didn't show up and they must not be doing it anymore. I hope that his information was incorrect! I'd heard that AAA dining discounts had been discontinued a while back so I thought maybe they were just phasing out AAA deals with Disney.

Thank you so much, AWIDY!! It's funny how quickly a tradition builds, isn't it? This is now one of my very favorite holiday traditions and I hope it continues a long, long time!!

It is strange! She did actually tell me that they were no longer using that discount at first. When I originally called on the 15th to book, they were having major problems, but didn't find that out until after I gave her all the billing info and got a total with the AAA discount. So the second time when a different CM was helping me after the glitches were fixed, I told her that they had accepted it before and she then said let me try and poof, discount! Glad I pushed it a little, that extra 20% saved on each ticket went towards booking us all premium fantasmic viewing :)

Well, there's no making sense of the information you get from phone CMs (or any other customer service agents)! My rule is if I don't hear what I want the first time, try again. I always give it at least 3 tries before I give up :rotfl:.

I am just glad we both got the discount! 20% is a big deal. I keep toying with the idea of fantasmic...and I like your rationale for booking it:lmao:

I am a little confused...what is the price for the tour for adults and children? And what all benefits come with it? Someone mentioned seats for the parade?

Hi Aidens Mom

An overview of prices and what the tour is all about is in the very first post of this thread.

This year the tour is $68 per person. This tour must be paid at the time of booking. For those with AAA, Disney Rewards Visa, Annual Passholders and DVC Holders a 20% discount is offered making the price $54.40. Bookings can be made 30 days in advance. Dizme has dice been told that AAA discount is no longer available on the Holiday Tour.

On the tour you get some of the history of holiday traditions at DL and also from around the world. During the tour you will get priority access to both the holiday versions of It's a Small World and the Haunted Mansion and to finish off preferred seating for the Holiday Parade with a special hot chocolate and gingerbread cookie.

LongTimeDisneyLurker has also added the commemorative pin that has been given out to tour participants in previous years AND also helped with the all important phone number: 714 781 4565.

Hope this helps

Mia

That's me to, ringing three times until I get the answer that I want. After that I give up, cant take the first no for an answer.

please add us to the list....

planning on booking for 12/17 late tour! surprising my DD with a quick trip and meeting up with my friend and her DD too for the weekend and the tour. our girls are 11 and 16!

thanks!

I made our reservations for Friday, December 2 at 3PM -- 5 adults.

Now my story ... I called at EXACTLY 7AM and a very nice CM said that I was calling a day too early -- so "please call back tomorrow". OK ... I hung up ... counted the days on my calendar again ... and called back -- this time a very nice CM said that "even though it says 30 days -- a lot of times it's only 29 days -- so please call back tomorrow". I decided to just forget about it ... and call tomorrow --- but the more I thought about it -- the more it didn't make sense. I called a third time, 4 hours later, and a very nice CM said ... "Sure, of course" ... I made the reservations, and then explained to her what had happened ... and she said that sometimes the computer doesn't recognize the 30th day exactly when they open.

The first CM did say that they can run 3 groups of 15 each for each tour.

The third CM said that the 3PM tour was the only one they were running on Friday --even though the park is open late.

They do NOT send you a confirmation e-mail. You can NOT pick your tickets up a day early -- ONLY on the day of the tour at the ticket booth.

They meet at the beige gazebo to the left of City Hall. You should be there 20-30 minutes early.

That is all of my news ... we can't wait!!
