**2011** Epcot Food & Wine Festival HAS ENDED. 2012 Festival 9/28 - 11/11

I have one in my reviews from last October.

For the price it was well worth it and there was a ton of liquor available.

Hi longtime lurker for this thread ok my lurking dates back to last years F&W info thread .Thanks for the great info..I just got a call from Victoria & Albert's about their signature dinner..It will (& I am assuming ALL F&W events) be able to be booked on Aug 16th, the dinner itself will be Sunday October 23 and the cost is $495pp plus tax/gratuities

For those of you who are looking forward to the 3D Dessert event I would only caution you that just because a special event was held one year does not guarantee that it will become a repeat event.

2010 was the first year that event was offered - we didn't attend it but I understand it met with fairly positive reviews. However, that doesn't mean they will bring it back.

The F&W pairings at various World Showcase restaurants were very popular but over the years they dumped almost all of them except for Japan, Italy, and Morocco as of last year.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that they will go with events that will make them the most profit, not necessarily those that guests would most enjoy or are most popular. Of course, that's not what they will tell you but we repeat food and winers (whiners??? wahahaaa!) know how the game is played.

Anyway, since we're not going this year I shall watch events unfold with interest and wish everyone the best in booking those events that they most want. :goodvibes

Yes there was! Last year I thought it was a real deal. I am curious to see what the price is this year.

My thought is they just may be bringing the F&W pairings back for 2011. Epcot Restaurants have no availability between 2-5:30/6:00 during my vacation dates of 10/19-10/25, it surely looks as if ADRs are being held back for some special events. Not sure about other dates during F&W only checked on my dates

Here's a review from the event last year: 3D Dessert Discovery

Not the best pics, but it gives a good idea of what to expect.

That review makes me want to sign-up for it right now; $45 sounds like a steal for an event like that! Too bad DBF has diabetes so gorging in desserts and alcohol really isn't his thing ! But if it is happening this year and the price doesn't get jacked up too high, maybe I should just reserve it and bring some extra insulin for him :rolleyes1!

I did attend the 3D dessert and won't be doing it again. But then I am one of those who does believe there is such a thing as too much dessert. I would also expect the price to be higher, if it is offered again this year.

The biggest misunderstanding about the dessert event last year was the assumption that it would be held outdoors and the Illuminations viewing would take place in the same area as the eating and drinking, which wasn't the case. People either believed it would be similar to the Wishes dessert party at MK or the private Illuminations dessert parties, when it's really more like a Party for the Senses with desserts only and then you go outside and watch Illuminations.

Sad you won't be there after all the help you gave me years ago! We are finally being able to go this year and the information you sent me awhile back has really helped getting things planned. I just wish I would get a chance to see you there!

At the moment, we are not planning to do any of the events. We have not been to Disney since 2007 and so we have a lot that we want to do. As such, we are most likely going to just focus on the booths. I just don't think we have the time to do many of the other events. Maybe if something small is offered on our main F&W day.

You're not allowed to think there's such a thing as too much dessert are you? ;)

Agreed on the misconception that the 3D event would be outside. I thought so, too! In fact, looking back through the pictures I had to double-take to be sure it wasn't PfTS.

Here's hoping they offer the 3D event again - wow! Great review! What days was it held last year? We are going the last week of FWF and if it's offered, I might be able to persuade DH to go :cool1:

This is a question for all the F&W Festival vetrans. Do the F&W Food booths stay open late when Epcot has PM EMH hours? TIA

Such a friggin bummer. Those booths all look so sad and forlorn all closed down during EMH!

I know. We just assumed the booths would remain open during evening EMH a couple of years ago and boy ... imagine our disgusted surprise when they all started shuttering at 9PM. What a disappointment ... and a wasted opportunity for making money.

I got all excited when I saw that Disney changed the PM EMH from Tues to Wed since we arrive on a Wed and were going to miss EMH as we leave Tues Morning but it is just not as exciting if the food booths shut down :sad2:
