I'm sorry you feel this way. I will have to say that this being a "longer ongoing" thread, that people here know one another better, and it can seem a bit clicky at first. I am just starting to post more here and am trying to get to know others, and they all seem like a great bunch of gals (sorry if there are any guys here  , you too).

I'll be going to the YC in August too, and if you're going during the same time, I'll be the gal with the breasts envying your new ones. :lmao: Oh geez, does that sound wrong?? :upsidedow

Thanks, I guess I was feeling a little left out because no one responded :sad2:. I should not have jumped to conclusions and assumed that I had possibly offended or upset someone. Looking forward to getting to know you all better.

BTW, I did a classic spit take with my coffee after reading the breasts comment :lmao: Fantastic!

DeeCeeSW, I hope you stick around on this thread. I doubt anyone thought anything other than good wishes for you when you posted your experience with the drug. I think this thread moves so very fast that it is easy to feel left out when the reality is that the thread has just moved on. Continued good health to you and happy planning.

Thanks, I will be coming back as often as I can. This thread DOES move super fast, it's really hard to keep up! Thanks for the good wishes and positive sentiments. Looking forward to our first stay at the YC!

DeeCeeSW, so sorry you feel that way - I'll second what BCV mentioned about how quickly this thread moves! Wishing you good health, and hope you stick with us.

Thanks, I'm trying, but you're not kidding...I can barely keep up with these posts!! I appreciate your wishes!

DeeCee---I also want to chime in with a huge welcome! I'm new here too and don't comment all that often, but everyone is very nice and helpful. It seems like most of the regular posters have a lot on their plates right now, so I think you just got lost in the shuffle, but no-one meant any harm. Alice'

Thanks, Alice, I realize this now and I greatly appreciate your warm welcome! :love:It's definitely hard to keep up here as this thread is clearly on fire!!! Looking forward to getting to know everyone better.

Balance now paid for our August trip - now saving for the week in Dallas before and the week in Miami after our 2 weeks at the BC.

I want to put the daily countdown on our Fridge in dry wipe marker but my wife has vetoed that idea. Maybe I will use the glass on the back door instead!:thumbsup2

I used an Excel spread sheet, seven column by as many rows as needed with dates and let the DW and kids mark off the blocks before one of our trips a few years ago. They still talk about that countdown clock and look forward to the next time we can do it again as a family.

Hopefully this will give you a giggle. I'm sitting at my computer which is on a counter top desk in the bay window of our kitchen. The window faces the back yard. Something catches my eye and I see, for the first time ever, a WILD TURKEY cruising through the back yard. Keep in mind this is in suburban South Jersey with a house every 1/3 of an acre apart.

I look at the dog and the dog says, "Yeah, I see it. I like the ones in the fridge better". OK, well maybe the dog didn't say that but he was thinking it!

Not 15 minutes later a skunk ambles through the back yard the same way, same direction!

I'm afraid to go out and look in the direction that this menagerie is coming from! I got pictures but they are really crappy because it's right before dusk so I won't post them.

All I know is that the dog will not be going outside unless he's on a leash!

Signed,
Still looking in Marlton

We're suburban central Jersey and have seen some strange things in our yard too! The absolute strangest thing I ever saw was a stork perched on our fence. We couldn't believe it - and then he decided to take a walk around our pool. DH was a little nervous about a stork paying a visit to our house!

BTW I was down in your neck of the woods on Friday. I ran a fundraiser for our school at Sahara Sam's and everytime I saw a sign on 295 for Marlton I thought of you.

Thanks so much! :) We'll be visiting YC 8/21-8/28.

Looks like our paths will cross!! We are going to be at YC from 8/24-8/31. We have never stayed at the YC before, but have gone this time of year for the past few years and love it!!! It is really hot, but because our kids arent back at school until Labor Day, it is a nice gap because some other parts of the country are back in school, so it seems a little less crowded. Its a nice way to start the school year off too :thumbsup2

Woo Hoo!!! I hit the 2 month mark today :banana::banana:

Sorry, just had to let everyone know that I might be a Little Excited ;)

Wow, it's been a while since I was on and it took a while to catch up!

To those of you with the flu, I hope you feel better!! The flu is probably my most hated illnesses!

Teena...I'm glad to hear you won't have to take tamoxifen. My grandmother had a masectomy when I was younger and ended up on tamoxifen. She had a hard time adjusting to it, hot flashes and all, but thank god it's about 15 years since the surgery and she's cancer free and off the medicine!! I also want to thank you for all the tips that you have given us all, to be going through something like that and still being so helpful really takes a strong woman! I hope you'll be around the BC when we get there in June!!

I saw some mention of the IPO, I've had nothing but great luck with them so far!! I was not contacted by them because I had booked through a travel agent, but once I made first contact by e-mail they had my info and did a great job double checking our itinerary!

Nala and DeeCee - that's a great week to go to WDW! We went that week in 2005. Crowds are lower since most kids are back to school.

Once upon a time a single mom and her young son were visiting CBR after their Disney cruise on the Big Red Boat. While riding the bus to Epcot, the mom saw the most wonderful resort and swimming pool she had ever seen and asked what was that? She was told it was the brand new Beach and Yacht club. She thought to herself - someday I'm going to stay there. The years went by and she returned with her extended family and they all stayed @ CBR and took a Disney cruise on the Wonder, then she stayed @ AKL on a special deal, then she put her son through college and celebrated by taking her mom and son and his friend to a moderate - POFQ, then her mom wanted the Poly so she went there, then her son wanted AKL, so she went there. Now, some day has arrived and come December of 2011, she's hoping to try the YC.
Thought I'd introduce myself.
Being thorough, I've read every single post in this thread, I read fast and it only took 3 days:lmao:
This sounds almost kinda sorta like my story...

July 1996...Caribbean Beach Resort on our honeymoon. We have reservations at Cape May Cafe. So we wander on over from Epcot to the Yacht Club. Yeah, we didn't know. Great CMs directed us back. On our way passing through the property, we gazed upon Stormalong Bay and were wow'd! After dinner and looking at more of the property, we were both awestruck and vowed we would return someday.

November 2003...reservations at POFQ. It just so happened that was the time they were going down majorly for renovations. I was able to upgrade to the YC for only $30/night more.:banana: And, to top that off, we were so lucky to be upgraded to a waterview. I seriously sat on my patio that evening and with tears in my eyes over how happy I was.

We've been to WDW several times in between but have not stayed at YC since. And now we're going back! And I can't wait. :cloud9:

:goodvibes I have to admit that I don't always read every single post. I'd been a full day since I've been here and there were 4 pages to read. :scared1: I saw that you will definitely be there when I am. I better see a pic of you before I go so that I'm not looking at all the breasts around me to find the perfect ones. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I bought a business calendar and a bunch of Disney stickers. My kids take turn counting down the days by placing a sticker on each day. It's on our refrigerator, and I love it. :lovestruc

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2We have never been that week. Last time we were there the week before July 4, and it was very busy. So good to know!

Hey! I know you! How's my Soarin' buddy doing?

Hi Amanda. Great to "see" you!!!! I'm doing pretty good. I see you're also venturing away from POFQ in occasion. LOL It's to bad our trips don't like up. I'd love to have our girls meet. I'm still kicking myself for not getting pictures of us together at RD. How have you been doing?

Are you kidding? I can use all the help I can find!!! Thank you so much!

Only problem with looking at the satellite image is you can see if you notice a roof or not because you actually have to be standing on the balcony itself to see that part. For instance, lots of the rooms on the fifth floor, if you are on the balcony and look straight out you see some nice views but if you look down you'll see the roof from the fourth floor. That would most likely make it a standard view although you might think it would be a garden view.

Since we're making ground floor our primary request I'm figuring that the pictures give a good idea idea of where we'll be facing greenery, or at least I'm hoping. I really hope we get our request. I'm counting on people wanting to look out on beautiful views while what we want is the ability to come and go easily to and from the pool. I think this is giving me at least a general idea of which rooms are possible. I know it's not an exact science but I think it's giving me at least some idea.

Thanks again!!

This our first trip staying on Disney property. I'm booked at bcv in a studio. Should I change to YC or BC standard room? Not sure if the bcv are too isolated. We will have our 2yr old.

Thanks,

Bob

.

The three resorts are really one complex. BCV are a short stroll, not even a walk, from the BC. I would not bother changing based on distance. BC and YC offer different views, if that's important to you.

We have stayed in all three, and loved them all.

Hi back! :drive::wave2: My house is 2 blocks away from that Rt.73 that you were on to get to Sahara Sam's. You were so close you could have hit that wild turkey on the way down!

Hopefully you had a great fund raiser at Sam's. They have a habit of over selling their capacity during busy times and it can quickly turn into "wait in long lines for EVERYTHING fiasco".

I hope Mom is doing better today. It may take awhile until she pops back up from her latest round of "crappy health roulette" so keep the faith and be patient. After all she's been through it will probably be small steps forward rather than leaps and bounds. Stay strong and know that these small steps will all add up eventually for a positive outcome!

We have a garden view room at the YC booked for our June trip and I've been trying to figure out the same thing! I have essentially given up, because I figure where ever it will be will be pretty. I thought about requesting over near the wedding gazebo, since we are engaged and thought it would be a nice touch (maybe we'd see a wedding!), but that would limit us to only a few rooms, so I doubt we'd get it anyway. I think I'm going to just put in a request to be 2nd floor or higher.
