Yes, that is the Gazebo and if I had to guess, I'd say the lobby is to the right of that in the photo, the section of the building with the spire on top and the circular drive behind it.

Thank you! Do you happen to know what section is directly behind the pool? I'm guessing no rooms but some type of restaurant? Maybe the rooms to the left of the pool would be best.

I don't know. We haven't stayed there yet. October will be our first time. :cool1: Can't wait. I'll have to see if I can find the room map info again and see if that shows how everything is laid out.

Any help on where we should request our room to be at the Yacht Club?

It depends on what you want and what category you are booked under. Do you prefer high or low floors? Near an elevator or further away? Close to the lobby? And are you booked for a garden, water or standard view?

Everyone has different preferences for different reasons. (And personally, I haven't stayed there yet, so I can only go on what I like at any hotel I stay at.)

My goodness, just when I thought this thread started to not suck away hours of my day you guys introduce this BING MAP! :worship:

AND hope the Dr. OKs weight bearing for your trip!

Thank you!! I still have a month and 2 weeks until I go... I am hopeful i will be walking by then!! I'm in a boot instead of a cast, but I think I should have been in a cast because I can take the boot off :lmao: though I have tried not to... but I love a shower so off comes the boot for that!! Anyway glad you managed to have a good trip even in a wheelchair!! Come on wait list!!!

Here you go Nannette...

Thank you so much!!

We have a standard view. Really we have no preference. I would like to be close to the lobby. I kind of like high floors. I was just curious to see what you all like and think.

Thanks for your help.

Just read on another thread that someone talked to the restaurant manager for Cape May, and that it would be closed for refurb in July??!!

Can anyone confirm this?? and by anyone I mean maybe, hmmmmm, lets see, Teena?? Or perhaps someone down there on vacation now?

What a bummer if it's true, DD loves to eat there.

I am now staying the first night at... gasp.... the boardwalk villa's

OK, here's the plan.... You are going to be our double agent! We are going to give you observation assignments but what ever you do, DO NOT LOOK AT THE CLOWN SLIDE!!! Somewhere on the back of this thread is a wall with the names of BC/YC Dis'ers that went down after they got a peep at that creepy slide.

Mission #1 Find and read a phone book in it's entirety. Memorize the numbers if possible so that we can recreate this massive missing deficiency at the YC/BC

Mission #2 Resort wear, do they have it? If so, is the clown involved in any of the designs? Use special eye protection just in case.

Mission #3 Club level, sneak in if you have to. Report on what they are offering and if the room is so large that you can get lost in it. Extra points will be awarded if you can determine whether the # of chairs available matches the # of spots at the tables.

What ever you do, don't be caught looking across the lagoon, staring at the Beach Club and pining for your home resort. This will surely blow your cover.

That's it for the mission. We hope you (come to your senses and don't) accept.

This post will self destruct in five seconds...

Information is starting to become available that would indicate that something is going on with the Cape May buffet. It has been unavailable for people trying to make reservations for certain weeks in the summer and now this story reporting a conversation with a manager adds to the concern.

Until an official announcement is made specifying the time period and length of closure we will just have to keep guessing as to what the real story is. However, with these little tid bits coming out, things are starting to make sense as to why it's been hard to book for that time period.

Stay tuned for more details. We'll just have to wait until we hear from Disney regarding this.

You're welcome! I hear ya on the boot. Got a boot week 2 (he was trying to graduate me for vacation) and I over did it SO I got the cast AND the boot. YC CL CMs were really good in supplying my plastic bags for my shower :goodvibes

Feel better, try to rest it is hard, but it's the quickest way to heal!

Without sounding like too big of a dummy ;) what are the perks to staying Club Level? We are looking to stay a Yacht Club next trip and I was curious as to what you get staying Club Level and is it worth it. It will be me, husband, daughter (24), Son (20). Thanks for your help :)

No dummies here louey. We all learn together. Check out post #10 on page one. Should answer most of your questions. (And if not...come on back and ask away!)

:lmao:

That clown still gives me nightmares. Thankfully, I did not look at it straight on, but only in pictures.

Now I had some big hair growing up and my sisters used to call me Bozo (if that nickname goes anywhere beyond this post, I will inundate your inbox with photos of the Clown Pool and any other freaky clown I can find), so the thought of it brings back childhood nightmares too. I may to go back to therapy soon.

As MickeyT says, check out the post on the first page. It will give you an idea of (and drink) offerings, which are probably the biggest draw to club level.

Some of the other perks-

IPO will make your dining and other reservations, if you want them to

Separate check-in area (5th floor)

Packages you purchase in the parks and DTD are sent directly to your room, not the Marketplace gift shop

DVD library to borrow from and watch in your room

They will sharpen pencils for you!

Salt Water taffy on the concierge desks (this was the boys' favorite)

I'm sure there are more but those are the perks I can think of off of the top of my head.

Pencil sharpening? That puts it over the top for me! I'm changing my reservation ... :rotfl2:

I know this is probably a loaded question, but that's the general consensus about the in-room coffee? Bad? Tolerable? Better than expected? Better than Nescafe?

Our dates are Feb 29-Mar 3. Super excited!

:rotfl: P.S. We are also staying in a Boardwalk-View studio our first night ... don't tell anyone!

Lol! I do plan on checking out that clown slide from a far! Clowns freak me out just a little!! I'll look for a phone book but really no promises on that!! I'm still really hopeful that my wait list at BC comes through, but like I said if nothing else I am in the EPCOT area in a one bedroom with a boardwalk view should be fun!!

We brought along little Starbucks Via packs. They didn't take up a lot of room to pack, and I didn't worry if we had an "upgraded" room coffee maker (apparently some of the Deluxe resorts have K-Cups) or not. We stayed in YC CL and had Nescafe "filter packs".

I can't speak to if they were any good or not, because we just used it to heat up our water for the Via Packs.:thumbsup2
