Extra points will be awarded if you can determine whether the # of chairs available matches the # of spots at the tables.

Just spit my coffee over my (thankfully somewhat liquid resistant) iPad screen!! Thanks for the laugh! Second snow day this week, having to separate warring children (fighting over a snow fort. Sigh) believe me I needed it!!

Another storm coming this Saturday. Gotta stock up on wine. LOL

Lol! I do plan on checking out that clown slide from a far! Clowns freak me out just a little!! I'll look for a phone book but really no promises on that!! I'm still really hopeful that my wait list at BC comes through, but like I said if nothing else I am in the EPCOT area in a one bedroom with a boardwalk view should be fun!!

We will be staying two nights at BWI in October for free and when I discussed the 3 nights prior (because how can you just do two nights in Disney?!?!) with my husband last night he suggested we just go ahead and book our full trip there as opposed to YC.

"No way," I said. "Remember the CLOWN?"

He decided resort hopping wasn't such a bad idea after all.:rotfl2:

I don't think I have either of your dates. If you would like to be added to the Page 1 Be Our Guest list, let us know your checkin/checkout days. Thanks!

Dee

Sure, our trip is May 26 - June 4, but we're at BC May 30 - June 4.

Just arrived at beach club and got a surprise upgrade to CL! This is so exciting!! This has never happened to us before!!!:cool1:

Lol! Well I've never really paid much attention to that pool.. I just know I'm not a fan of clowns so that could be a not good thing! I love the area so I'm willing to give the Boardwalk a shot. Most times things are what you make them!! Enjoy your 2 nights (free is always good!)!!

No dummies here louey. We all learn together. Check out post #10 on page one. Should answer most of your questions. (And if not...come on back and ask away!)

Thanks so much for your reply I will check it out for sure.

nannette and jenneth, BWI is wonderful! We love BC and BWI for different reasons, and we really enjoyed our split between BWI/Dream Cruise/BC last summer. We're trying YC and POFQ this spring (Easter week - crazy rates - time to try a new moderate!) but we're definitely working both BC and BWI into our plans for 2013. Yay for split stays! :)

I highly recommend a Boardwalk view - the proximity to the water is amazing and we could see MK fireworks from our balcony (and Illuminations fireworks from the club lounge!) The Boardwalk view rooms are lively (but not too loud) at night and completely peaceful and relaxing in the morning. I was so happily surprised by how tranquil it was in the morning - one of my favorite WDW resort rooms ever!

And I don't like clowns, but that slide doesn't bother me one bit - I love it (and I'm generally not a fan of waterslides, so that means a lot coming from me!) It was a ton of fun and we had a great time. The Luna Park pool is a little more crowded than SAB simply because Luna Park isn't as big, but it wasn't uncomfortable and great for a quick afternoon swim.

There are a few other differences, like the lobby (prefer BC) and the refill mug situation at BWI (no self-serve stations at BWI, but we resolved that by booking CL!) As reported elsewhere, the CL CMs are outstanding and the lounge is very comfy. While our boys prefer the food at BC CL (hard boiled eggs for our 12-year-old, swedish fish for all, and plain rolls for our 11-year-old!), we all loved BWI CL, too.

So BC fans planning a BWI/BWV stay - enjoy! (And be sure to check out KOOK's great new BWI thread!)

Seriously jealous and secretly praying for an upgrade on our trip! Did you check in online before getting there or roll the dice and just check in at the resort? popcorn::

Amazing - congrats! Tell the guys @ the desk (specifically Neil and there's another guy from NY or Brooklyn - Rob, maybe?) - tell them Vicki from the Newport suite says hello and thanks again! Have a great trip!

natebenma--You are right that I am pretty sure it will be when we upgrade!

We are so excited to go. Last August our trip was amazing and we are hoping it is even better this time. DD3 had a bad experience on the Norway ride and she had trouble going on anything else the entire trip. We had a great time but I am so hoping that she will ride more stuff this time.

Thanks PixarMom! I like to try new things so this will be fun! And like I said most times things are what you make of them!! Thanks for the tips!

Since this is our first trip. I do believe we will be doing more character dining than not:guilty: So it may be better this time to do the Dining plan.... Your input was very helpful!! I will not be doing the dining plan after my 9 year old turns 10 because she eats like a bird and she would never get her money's worth out of the adult price!!!

I would suggest that you check out prices on the restaurant menus of the locations you are interested in. Most likely though, if you are doing character meals with the children, you will come out ahead. The children's price for one day on the DDP usually is less than a meal at the character buffets. So you save money there, plus you get the counter service.

Ok...staying home with this broken foot is making me crazy... so crazy that i've changed my plans for the upcoming trip again! I am not one to keep changing the plan, but with all this time laying on the couch while the foot heels has made me keep changing the plan! I am still wait listed for BCV's, but instead of all the nights at AKV's I am now staying the first night at... gasp.... the boardwalk villa's :thumbsup2 . :thumbsup2

Thanks!
~Nannette

I hope the BCV waitlist comes through for you. But, if not, BWV are really nice too. We did our first villa stay there. We had a view of the boardwalk and every night we would sit on our balcony and watch the boardwalk entertainment. It was very nice.

OK, here's the plan.... You are going to be our double agent! We are going to give you observation assignments but what ever you do, DO NOT LOOK AT THE CLOWN SLIDE!!! Somewhere on the back of this thread is a wall with the names of BC/YC Dis'ers that went down after they got a peep at that creepy slide.

Mission #1 Find and read a phone book in it's entirety. Memorize the numbers if possible so that we can recreate this massive missing deficiency at the YC/BC

Mission #2 Resort wear, do they have it? If so, is the clown involved in any of the designs? Use special eye protection just in case.

Mission #3 Club level, sneak in if you have to. Report on what they are offering and if the room is so large that you can get lost in it. Extra points will be awarded if you can determine whether the # of chairs available matches the # of spots at the tables.

What ever you do, don't be caught looking across the lagoon, staring at the Beach Club and pining for your home resort. This will surely blow your cover.

That's it for the mission. We hope you (come to your senses and don't) accept.

This post will self destruct in five seconds...

~Agent MM

Mission #1b - Or you could go into every BW room and steal the phone books and move them across the pond to the BC/YC. That'll mess with some folks.

Thanks so much for that info pixarmom!, and I agree about trying new things. We're going to be staying at the Contemporary next weekend to try out a MK area hotel, but figure we'll probably keep wanting to come back to the Epcot area hotels. So BC and BWI are both on our list to try.

We have a CL room, but no idea what the view would be. Again, it was complements of Disney, so this beggar is not going to be choosy!:goodvibes

We keep steering ourselves away from BC due to the lack of guaranteed full balconies... but one of these days I think we'll have to give it a shot since we've heard such good things about it.

As for the clowns, all the previous jokes aside, I really AM scared to death of them. It may have to do with the fact that my parents decided it was a good idea to let me watch IT when it came out.

In 1990.

When I was 10.

Yeah. I'm scared of clowns.

Information is starting to become available that would indicate that something is going on with the Cape May buffet. It has been unavailable for people trying to make reservations for certain weeks in the summer and now this story reporting a conversation with a manager adds to the concern.

Until an official announcement is made specifying the time period and length of closure we will just have to keep guessing as to what the real story is. However, with these little tid bits coming out, things are starting to make sense as to why it's been hard to book for that time period.

Stay tuned for more details. We'll just have to wait until we hear from Disney regarding this.

~Marlton Mom

I talked to someone who works at BC (not Teena!) and they got the official word that CMB will be down 7/9 - 8/4. This will be our first time that we stayed at BC or YC and haven't gone to CMB.

I'm starting to wonder if something is going on at Narcoossee's too. That's another one that I haven't been able to make an ADR for, even though we're well within the time range.
