Good Morning everyone!:) I am still new here, can someone please tell me where to find the Be our Guest List? I'm sure it's simple to find, I just can't. Thank you so much.

Never mind, I found it. :) Thanks any way

Any new info on the pool refurb?

According to Mouseplanet:
Yacht & Beach Club Resorts – painting of rockwork at Stormalong Bay Pool touched up January 9 to February 21.

Mouseplanet is a really great site, just like the Dis. I'm including a link to the home page so you can check it out...

I hope that's 'legal' on a site like this.... if not, COME AND GET ME COPPERS! :moped:

Just spent way too much work time playing with that Bing Map. That is so cool. :surfweb:

Can't wait for our trip. I have only made 3 ADRs though. I can't decide how commando to go on this trip. We have 6 and 3 year old kids, so I think we'll be making a lot of changes on the fly.

We did get CRT :cool1:, Les Chefs and Cape May scheduled. Lunch and dinners. Since we are coming from So Cal it is hard to predict how our mornings will be.

So, we are now in the double digits for days until our trip!!!
:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

I am going to start working on the autograph book for DD. So exciting!!

LOL - Bing Maps are actually the coolest, I think. That birds-eye view view thing is amazing to me. (just call me Robo jr. well actually do not call me that - LOL).

I loved looking at that map -- addicting. Got a chuckle out of the Robo comment, too.

Another Question for all of you. If you could pick one CL or DDP which would you choose?

Another Question for all of you. If you could pick one CL or DDP which would you choose?

Hi Suzanne! We'd absolutely pick CL, but that's based on our touring style, eating preferences and ages of our children. We usually eat a quick breakfast and get to rope drop, our kids are ages 5, 11 and 12, and we prefer snacks and light meals instead of the larger meals that the dining plan covers. The CL breakfasts and evening appetizers are perfect for us - and our kids eat some relatively healthy snacks as a result. Our middle son always orders from the children's menu and I usually order appetizer instead of full entrees, so the dining plan really doesn't fit for us. We usually make two ADRs per day - lunch in a park and dinner at a signature. Because we're not on the dining plan, we have complete flexibility in ordering and CL snacks followed by a light dinner works well. It's also nice to take a break in the afternoon before dinner, and having the club lounge available helps us to do that.

To decide whether or not to use the dining plan, I always suggest looking at the menus for each of your ADRs and estimating what your family might actually order. Then compare that cost with the cost of the dining plan to see if it actually works for you. It takes a while to work it out, but it's definitely worth it.

To decide whether or not to book CL, I'd suggest looking through your touring plans and deciding whether you would be around in the morning and the early evening to take advantage of the breakfasts/snacks/evening appetizers/desserts. Of course, there are other benefits (ADRs, planning, etc.) - we don't use those services much, but that might factor in for your family.

We've been getting APs lately, so we have a TIW card and find that (combined with CL) is a great value for us.

CL, hands down.:thumbsup2

I think the addition of breakfast (quick or not) and free afternoon/evening snacks/drinks adds up. Also, even though I typically get the DDP, we don't eat dessert every time, and might have shared an entree/app otherwise.

DDP is convenient, but not really a money saver IMHO. CL on the other hand is awesome. My favorite benefit (though some love to do it themselves) is sending the IPO a list of all the ADRs we want and knowing on the 180 day mark they are going to probably get more than I'd be able to on my own.

That reminds me.... I think my date is coming up in March, I had better start researching!:goodvibes

Hey guys,

Just got back from Vegas yesterday. (beautiful spring like weather, sunny and in the 60's, sorry Teena)

On my Southwest flight home, the attendant announced that this was a Wi-Fi enabled flight and anyone with a device could use it as a Wi-Fi hotspot. I could hook up my touch (someone else had my ipad watching a movie) but I could not open my email. But still kinda cool.

Has anyone else had this on a recent flight? Maybe in October I can use wi-fi at my WDW resort AND on the SW flight down to Florida.

Love the map!!! I've looked at it a dozen times today.

I still have it open from last night!

Is it my bad eyesight or are ToT and RnRC not there? Is this an older aerial shot that those buildings weren't there yet? I don't see the Sorcerers Hat either at DHS. But it could just be the angle, and my old eyes....

They're all there -- you might have to zoom in, adjust, zoom out, adjust, etc., but they're all there. So much fun!

Pixarmom and Jenneth79, Thanks for your input. I guess I could give you a little more info about us!! We are going down with my Brother and his family. I have 4 kids ages 9,8,6 and 4 we are First Time Disney goers. My Brother and his wife and 2 kids 6 and 4, have been to the beach club once a year ago they did the Dining plan but that is all they know. the cost for one room is $5448 with hoppers and dining $4750ish with out dining and club level. so there is our story!

It's funny but when I looked at it on my work computer and now on my home laptop, it looks a little different. At work it looked like there was construction at SAB, but at home, nothing. And I didn't look at work, but looking from home, I see the Sorcerer's Hat, RnR and ToT.

Another Question for all of you. If you could pick one CL or DDP which would you choose?

Before we ever stayed CL, I was one of the DDP's biggest fans!! :yay: But now I can't even imagine using it. (Granted, we are passholders and have the Tables in Wonderland card at our disposal). But irregardless, staying CL is better for us. We have done every character breakfast on property several times, and now that DS is going to be 9, it doesn't have the appeal it once did. So eating a quick breakfast in the lounge is good enough. We also tend to eat later dinners now, and have a snack in the lounge before heading out for the evening. I also skip dessert at most places in favor of a small bite in the lounge (and my waistline thanks me for this choice! :goodvibes). And, of course, there's the coffee machine :cloud9:

I see from your later post that it about a $700 savings to stay CL and just pay OOP for your food. If you plan on doing a lot of sit down dinners and character breakfasts, DDP might be worth it. But if you are more of a CS, "wing it" when it comes to meals kind of family, then CL + OOP is a better choice.

One other issue my family has with the DDP is the kids meals. DS eats like a grown up and would be bored to death just eating kids meals for a week. He reached that point once he got to be about 8. He and I sometimes share, but more often than not, he orders his own adult meal, and finishes it. He would not be able to do that on the DDP, unless I altered his age to 10 or older, and thus paid the higher ticket price for him as well.

HTH!

I am so excited to say that I will be back at the BC in 27 days!:goodvibes We have changed resorts a few times (I can never seem to make up my mind:rotfl:), and my niece will be joining us last minute (her birthday also falls during the trip)- she has always wanted to stay at the BC, so that is where we will be staying! I cannot wait. We have a water/pool view room booked. Along with my niece and I will be DD20 (turning 21 on the trip) and DD10. My DH needs back surgery so needless to say, he cannot come, and my DD18 is skipping out on this trip.
I have a couple of questions if you don't mind:
1. I was last at the BC in March 2011, and didn't see any resort-themed merchandise. Has any returned to the Marketplace? I was specifically looking for a BC shirt/sweatshirt.
2. Can water/pool view rooms be on the first floor? I have not put in a room request yet so I was curious about that.
Thank you all!:goodvibes

Since this is our first trip. I do believe we will be doing more character dining than not:guilty: So it may be better this time to do the Dining plan.... Your input was very helpful!! I will not be doing the dining plan after my 9 year old turns 10 because she eats like a bird and she would never get her money's worth out of the adult price!!!

Hi again Suzanne! For a first Disney trip, with four kids paying child prices for the dining plan and lots of character meals, the dining plan might work very well for you! (Two of our three kids are "Disney adults" so that's an entirely different story!)

Part of the reason we've enjoyed CL so much recently is that we have APs and we've been going to Disney for so long, so we don't spend as much time in the parks as we did without APs. For most first-time visitors, there is so much to do and see that it might be tough to fit in enough time in the club lounge to make it a good value.
