[[We were at Kona on Friday night, too. I think our ADR was 5:45pm? We sat in the back corner with DH, my parents, and 3 little kids.
Amanda

This is too weird. We had 5:30 ressie's at Kona but did not arrive until 5:45. We were three couples sat toward the middle. We probably checked in together. I remember another family being there.....Your children must be well behaved because I REALLY remember the ones that aren't! ;)

I asked this in another thread but I will ask here as well. Which resort offers CL and it's worth it??? Thanks!

The Yacht Club and the Beach Club have CL. The Beach Club Villas does not offer CL. As to whether or not it is worth it, if you ask 10 people, you will probably get 10 different answers.

FOR ME: It is worth it if you do not have the dining plan or you have the regular dining plan and not the deluxe dining plan. It is worth it in the summer, spring and fall (when we spend lots of time at the resort). For a family of four, just the breakfasts in my opinion pay for the extra cost versus non-CL. During the winter (mid-November through early January), when we are not at the resort much, then we normally do not book CL. I would only be there for breakfast since in the winter, we don't spend any time at the pool and are resort hopping to see the decorations and spending all day at the parks. Yes, the breakfasts make it cost efficient for us but in the winter, we are never at the resort to enjoy the lounge any time other than early in the morning. The Y&B has so much going on during the day that during spring, summer and fall, we hit breakfast early and then are at the parks when they open. We'll stay until Noon and then go back and spend the afternoon at the resort and the snacks and sodas, iced tea, etc. are wonderful. We always hit the appetizers and wine/beer before dinner too. Then we usually head off to dinner somewhere at Epcot or at the Y&B or the restaurants at the Boardwalk. So it is definitely worth it for me during spring, summer and fall!!!!

Awww! Thank you. I'm pretty strict about behavior at restaurants and am quick to remove any offenders! We also had 4 adults and 3 children which helps!

With SAB set squarely in between YC and BC there is really no choice (IMHO) for which one has an easier access. It's the same from either. Now what I would do is request a room close to the lobby of either the YC or the BC which would place you closer to the entrance than if you were placed on the far side of either resort.

thanks that is really helpful.

I am used to the Wilderness Lodge and want to stay at BC our next trip so I have a few questions:

How many buildings are there?

Where is the laundry room?

Do you have to walk outside to get to laundry, lobby, and restaurants?

Does the BC Marketplace have hot breakfast? I read they don't have platters but they have a ham croissant sandwhich.....is this hot?

Thank you. Figured I would ask the experts :)

Check out the first page of this thread for the resort map. There are 3 resorts, Yacht Club, Beach Club and Beach Club Villas. I'm not sure if there is inside access between BCV and BC, but you can definitely access all of the BC and YC indoors/undercover, including the restaurants and lobbies.

Not sure if the laundry access is inside or out, but here is the info from the front page:

Laundry Information :laundy:

Self-service laundry rooms are located near the BC quiet pool and near the YC quiet pool. Another small laundry room may be found on the first floor of the YC, near the side exit (wedding gazebo side).

Washers are High Efficiency machines.

Both washers and dryers cost $2.00. Washers run for about 30 minutes. The sign in the laundry room says the dryers run for 20. Users have reported the dryers run for up to 30 minutes on regular and permanent press cycles.

Here's a photo of the ham and egg croissant. I can't remember how hot it was, but it was yummy. I have also included a picture of the make your own parfait station:

All Deluxe Resorts offer CL service. We think it is worth it sometimes. Other times we are just as happy without it. Depends on the type of vacation you are planning!

Could anyone tell me roughly whereabouts the YC Club lounge is in the resort. Hoping to change from BC garden view to YC Club Garden View room but wondered about the location of the lounge. I quite like being near the lobby for easy access to the pool/shop so was gonna put that as a room request as shd get fully balcony anyway but not sure whether better to ask for close to the lounge. How far are the CL level rooms that are the furthest away from the lounge??

YUM! Those look good! Can you get to BC Marketplace no matter where your room is without walking outside? Maybe I am thinking about the poly where you have to walk outside??

I think you can get to the BC Marketplace, and anywhere within the Yacht & Beach Club resorts without going outside. Someone help me out here- the walkway that connects Y&B, in front of the Cape May restaurant- I know it is covered, but I can't remember if it is open air or enclosed.

Does anyone know if you can get back and forth from the BCV without going outside? I don't think the OP is looking for this info, but I would like to know for future reference.

The access to the laundry may be outside, I'm not sure.

There is a covered walkway that connects BCV and the BC right by the Marketplace.

The laundry rooms by the pools can't be accessed without exposure to sun/rain. However, the inside laundry rooms can be. There is one in the BC. Haven't personally seen the one in the YC but since it's inside the building....

Love those egg and cheese croissants. They are served warm. The parfaits are fantastic. Wish I had both this am. My DH or DS and I usually split one of each.

I posted on the conceirge thread but wanted to ask here as well. Does anyone have YC CL experience and thoughts? We are vegetarians so I wasn't sure if there would be evening options for us? Also if we aren't interested in reservation help and really just the service and access to quick food/beverage options is it a good choice?

Hi! The club level rooms are all on the fifth floor. The cast members desks are just outside the elevator bank & the lounge just next to that. The farthest rooms are about 2 long corridors down. They are over the Yachtsmen's Steakhouse area. Of course, any floor at the YC has some rooms quite a distance from the lobby. You could request a room near the lounge, that would put you near the elevators.

We haven't been on club level for about a year, but I remember some things from our last stay. There are fresh veggies & dip, hummus, cheese, crackers, rolls, Peanut butter & jelly, a cold salad type dish (I remember a caprese salad with cheese, tomatoes & basil & an orzo salad). The hot appitizers were usually with meat: duck quesidillas, chicken skewers, bacon wrapped scallops & maybe a spring or egg roll. So even if you can't eat most things, there should still be some stuff to nibble on. They may be able to get something you can eat if you talk with the CMs after you get there.

We like the club floor even if we don't get to the lounge for every offering. We also like the quick breakfast, convenient access to the beverages (can't beat the lemonaide in the summer!) & secure floor. I will let them do my ADRs, even tho it's easy to do now with the online booking. We don't usually need assistance while there, but it's nice to have help right there & not need to go to the lobby for anything.

Good luck with your decision! :)

I just wanted to say thank you, everyone was so great to answer questions and help with my trip planning. We had a great trip and loved the
Beach Club. Teena, my family really enjoyed meeting you!

I have just posted the first installment of my trip report

"Frozen Fun at the Beach Club"

that will of course include glowing reports of the BC/YC!

Thanks again and I hope everyone who has an upcoming trip has a great time!

Are all of the YC balconies private (including CL). In some of the pictures on the front of the YC - where standard CL might be, it almost looks like the balconies are shared. I can't tell if it's just a weird camera angle or it's a shared balcony. Thanks for any help!

Also thanks for answering my previous questions! I did book Standard CL for our late September early October trip tonight. I'm going to surprise my husband with this and I'm so excited! Hope I can keep the secret until then :)

Got a great deal as well - even the CM commented that it was great for YC CL! She could have been making me feel better but either way I'm so excited :)

We are booked for a Garden room at the BC. Will this room have an in room safe? And if so, will a laptop fit in it?

Can I suggest for a mere 10 bucks I think it is you can get GARDEN VIEW Club Level which would be the pretty interior wedding gazebo area or the other side of the YC which is a garden view. Standard view can be and will be pretty lousy....yes there a few rooms that DO share a balcony. We were CL garden view (wedding gazebo interior garden only 4 units like this) and ALL of our balconies were private.....

Some (very few) share a balcony.
