Anyone know the name of the manager of the YC/BC? I'm sending a letter about my experience in the hopes of our mousekeeper being recognized. I would like to give it the best chance possible of reaching the intended person! I'm assuming the address of the hotel is the right place to send?

The General Manager of both Yacht and Beach Club is Mim Flynn:

Address your letter to:

I am really leaning toward switching to BC for DD's birthday as we will be going to DHS for SWW one day and Epcot another and we can walk. That and she LOVES :lovestruc sand and water and would love to play in the pool for hours.

We have a MK view room booked at CR and I was wondering if I book a "water view" room and request View of Epcot Ball if I might actually get one. I know the fireworks view is rather limited, but I know we would still love seeing the ball before and after the parks.

Thanks! :goodvibes

I was wondering if I should make any room requests or if you recommend a certain section you guys like... Thanks!!

The Beach Club is a FANTASTIC resort for the reasons you have described.

I have seen some awesome views of the EPCOT ball from some of the rooms. But I don't think the water view category has many, if any, rooms that overlook EPCOT. The rooms I have seen where you can see the ball were either garden view category or even standard view. I think the requested view would be "Spaceship Earth view" or "EPCOT view" if that is allowed.

We had a standard room in July that overlooked the BC parking lot, (no EPCOT view). We had ok views of the high Illumniations fireworks to our right, and a fantastic views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

I was wondering if I should make any room requests or if you recommend a certain section you guys like... Thanks!!

Everyone will have a different answer about favorite sections or requests. Some of the things you should consider requesting, depending on your preferences are: full balcony (if your reservation is at BD), close to lobby, close to EPCOT, etc.

What is important to YOU?

Thanks! I did some more looking on the board and it was suggested that people looking for "Spaceship Earth" views request: 4th floor, large balcony, close to Epcot

Some booked std. some booked garden. I am guessing I might have more luck with a garden view, but that seems to be a mystery.

Subscribing. We are staying at BC for the first time in October, so I am subscribing to get info. We are sooooo excited!

Hi we are booked for our 1st stay too! I had promised my family we would stay CL! Only problem is no wheelchair acc. rooms CL are avialable.:sad1: Now I am hoping a CL garden view will work ok for DD? We can get along without a roll in shower but I want her to be able to get around the room. I am thinking about staying in a GV without CL, to ensure her needs are met. :sad2: So, not sure.

Do you think we will be ok in a GV CL room with DD? Thanks for any info. :woohoo: So excited for our BC stay!!!!!:yay:

Mike, welcome back to the reality of winter. Glad to hear it all went well on this trip. Isn't it great to have that view of wishes from Cali Grill? Happened to me once too and it's something I'll never forget. Dinner at V&A too?? Boy you really went all out on this trip. But then, you only get to do this kind of stuff once in your lifetime (unless you can hit it big in the lottery).

Yeah. Figured if we were going to do these things may as well do them while we were at the GF. (I'm not crazy about wearing a sports coat on vacation.) Enjoyed, but back to the BC lifestyle in August .

An opinion: If you can do without the roll in shower you should be fine. Very roomy between the beds and desk. We had the room right across from the lounge this summer, next to the elevator and we loved it. Full balcony and real close to the lounge (which I think would be an advantage). Add your room request, call before you go and let them note what you are doing and I'm sure they will do their best to help.

Thanks!

My DH and I can team up and DD will be ok for bathing. The location you decribe would be perfect!:)

We're home too! Came home and everything is covered in ice and snow. Me no like.......

Us, too! We came home and promptly had a snow day (except that I had to work).

Race went great. Walked most of the way with DW. Great memories and great pictures.

CONGRATS on the race! Glad you enjoyed. I thought it was just amazing!!!

We hit Capt Cooks/Wishes one night and had early dinner at Kona Friday. Sisters loved Kona.

We were at Kona on Friday night, too. I think our ADR was 5:45pm? We sat in the back corner with DH, my parents, and 3 little kids.

Oh yeah, I saw you....Wait. I saw a bunch of crazy ladies wearing their medal!

Ha-ha! So true. There were lots of crazy people wearing medals!

Glad you had a great trip!

Amanda

Kind of a loaded question Yolie. Are you in BC or YC? Are you CL or GV or Standard? Are you interested in a full balcony for sitting or do you even go out on the veranda? What size family are you bringing along? Are you doing a lot of Epcot or will you need to be doing a lot of the Disney bus transportation? Are you interested in SAB or want to be close to IG? Are you going this spring, this summer, this fall or this winter? The guru's on this board are very knowledgable (just look at page one and two along with pictures on page 187-188) but they might want a little more data before they can give you an opinion on what you might want to put into your room request.

We are going to be trying the BC for the first time this summer and I'm very excited to read this thread and how much everyone loves it there. We are booked in a standard and I know it will not be a nice view and that's OK, don't care that much about a balcony either, but I do want to be close to the lobby and pool. Is there a section that is good to request, or should I just say close to lobby and pool? I never really have any luck getting requests met anyway so I'm not counting on anything, just glad to be going.

Yes, request close to lobby/Stormalong Bay. Do you care if you are on the ground floor or would you prefer to be on a higher floor?

Don't do the on-line checkin. Wait until you get to the checkin counter so you can ask about the location of the room. If it does not meet your requests, ask if there is anything available that would better suit you.

If you do the on-line checkin, you are supposed to take your keys and go, so if there is a possibility that you may ask for a change to your room, this is not the way to go.

Just switched to BC for May!!! I booked a garden view with request of 4th floor, view of Spaceship Earth at the suggestion of the CM.

Very excited! I have been wanting to stay there since I learned about SAB!

I would love to be by the pool and have a full balcony. Thanks so much!! What do you guys think of club level??

Have you checked out the link to the Concierge pictures on the first page of this thread? There is also another thread on the resort forum that is all about CL.

My family personally loves the breakfast in the morning. There is an amazing selection of food: cereals, hard boiled eggs, fix your own oatmeal, lots of danish, juice and coffee. A nice quick filling breakfast to hold us over for an early morning in the parks. We also enjoy getting a cool drink or sweet on the way back to our room during mid-day breaks or before turning in at night.

We make our own dining reservations, so we haven't used that service.

It is nice to have purchases we make in the park delivered right to our room instead of to the gift shop.

I saw on your other post that you have the Deluxe dining plan, and I agree with the poster who answered that will be a lot of food (unless you are booking mostly 2 TS signatures)

We have used the Deluxe plan without CL, and found even that was too much for our family of very enthusiastic eaters.

Concierge breakfast was the perfect complement to the regular dining plan for us in July 2009 and July 2010
