2010 news from the Magic

Could that be Year-Round Schools by chance? I taught in Nash and Franklin County in NC for over 5 years and we never had Spring Break that late- too close to end of the year testing.

sorry, guys, ....mid-to late April is BIG vacation up here in New England!!! 3 states have the 3rd week off; (doesn't matter where Easter falls) and the other states have the 4th week off. That's a lot of kids! This is K-12.

Also in checking I found counties in Georgia that have the 3rd week off.

EB Transatlantic in April? Are they wanting an all adult sailing? We had no problems with taking our girls out of school for the Med. repo (we lost the last 7 days of school), but in the middle April? Kids would be missing at least 2 weeks of school, and in April there is still major academics going on.

I was really wanting to do the EB transatlantic again, but will have issues if it really is in April.

Do you not think, as someone has already said, that because of Spring Break more children will be able to go on the EB?

Who has spring break in the middle to end of April? I know of no one who has Spring break the middle of April. Easter falls on April 4th. Spring break usually falls before Easter or that actual week approaching Easter.

It varies from district to district.

The NYC public school system's break depends on Easter and Passover. We've had spring break as early as March and as late as the last week of April.( This year it was the week of April 21) It all depends on when Easter and Passover happen to fall.

In 2010 Passover is March 30- April 5. Easter is April 4. Most likely our public school will get out on March 26 and return on April 6. The Catholic schools will get out on March 31 and return on April 12.

When we lived there only a few of the magnet schools were year round.

But don't forget ALOT of us have the Mid March week as spring brake! So it wouldn't work with us here in TX or other states that have that week off in March. but thats ok because the other May date never worked for us either.

But we are hoping for a good price for the June/July or Aug dates of the Disney Magic!

We (Middle Tennessee) have the end of the year "no child left behind" testing in April. Our spring break is the third week of March. In any case, I teach at the local university so April is definitely totally out for me. I was hoping for mid-may like last year. Oh well, lets see what is announced.

Our spring break is always the week that includes april 1st regardless of what date easter is that year. Makes it easy to plan vacations, but it won't help me if I decide to do the TA.

Thanks for much for all the info on this thread.
I was orgnially booked onto the 11 night med cruise in 2007, but had to cancel due to being too far pregnant to travel. So i am so excited at the possibility of 2010.

The disney ship is not listed on the gibralter cruise calendar. They have 2010 up...Barcelona doesn't have 2010 available yet.

Bummer, if that is the schedule, we will not be able to go on Magic in 2010. Not interested in European cruise yet, while September is too late for us to cruise due to the kids' school schedule. I guess we just have to save up for 2011's new ship!!

I'm not at all happy about this. I was really hoping to be able to do a TA. But I can't pull my DS out of school in April and our spring break will be at Easter time. And with school starting around Labor day, no way to pull him out in September either. I have a dummy cruise booked and was really hoping to move it to one of the TAs.

The disney ship is not listed on the gibralter cruise calendar. They have 2010 up...Barcelona doesn't have 2010 available yet.

Thing is, Disney could have contacted all the proposed ports to have the Magic taken off the printed schedule.
