This is DD-5 in her well-loved Cinderella nightie. princess: :figment: She climbed into Mommy & Daddy's bed, located my beloved Figment from my 1984 trip, snuggled up and fell asleep. Most likely, she is having Disney Dreams like her Mommy will tonight :) ;) :lovestruc:love::cloud9:

That :figment: , by the way, is the "old school" one from the original ride that I loved so much :)

Sweet & Magical dreams to you all :)

This is what it is all about! :goodvibes

Fingers crossed today's the day and you all get great news :goodvibes

Kaylene that photo is so cute, Figment was always my favourite character and I had that exact same plush, I had to throw it out a few years ago as he'd split open :sad1: But DH bought me a new one 2 years ago :yay:

I so remember Mickey and Minnie in Epcot, we have a photo of my Dad picking Minnie up, such a no no, he almost got chucked out of the park  :rotfl:

Sending lots of pixie dust to all 3rd rounders. I hope you hear your news today! Remember - you are all special regardless of your news. It has been quite a journey! :wizard:

Wishing everyone loads of luck today.....can't wait to hear your news. It's no wonder they might need an extra day to decide - you are all worthy of a place on the panel :goodvibes

Morning y'all!!

I am off to a very busy day of meetings at work (how dare they!!!), so I will be off the DIS for most of the day... But I wanted to wish all the round #3ers... Good Luck and extra Pixie Dust. :wizard:

No matter what happens today with my phone call, I am glad to have met all of you and had the opportunity to spend time in the waiting room with you! :grouphug:

Just stopping by to say good luck to you all. Can't wait to start following the new "Moms."

An extra dose of pixie dose to you all!

I just want to THANK YOU ALL so very much for your friendship and support. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

My DD-5 has gymnastics this morning and DD-7 has gymnastics at 4:45 this afternoon. I'm wishing and hoping for a magical call in-between there somewhere.

I know that no matter what happens, this has been such an amazing experience. I've formed some wonderful friendships, and have thoroughly enjoyed sharing my Disney love with all of you...and having you share yours with me. If this phone call doesn't end up the way I want it to, I will never stop believing in my dreams. :wizard:

Best of luck to all of my fellow Round 3'ers today. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers. Here's hoping we all meet in a few weeks :woohoo: :thumbsup2

Good Morning All!

All this waiting is hard work!

By the first emails sent to Round 3'ers this was suppose to be THE Day but another email has hinted that THE Day may be tomorrow, Wednesday instead.:confused3

When ever they announce, it will be exciting, joyful and sad all at the same time. All of you deserve a spot on the 2010 panel. Wouldn't it be something if it was a Disboard sweep?:woohoo:

Best Wishes to you all and some pixiedust for luck!

Just to give us all something to do to pass today I thought of another topic.

The Question Of The Day for Waiting Day Zero, maybe Repeated Wating Day One is:

When is your favorite season(or holiday) to visit Disney World and what makes that time special for you?

First of all, good luck to you all today... and I hope it is today!! I'm ready to see your names in lights!!

Secondly, for the QOTD, my favorite season is Christmas. I love Christmas anyway, but at Disney, it is special! I always wanted to go there for Christmas when I was little, so when I had my children, I started taking them every year at Christmas-time. The next Christmas trip will be in 35 more days with all the usual suspects, plus the new DGS.:cloud9:

Just popping in to say Good Morning and Good Luck to all of you. After going through the entire process twice, I know how anxious you all are for the phone calls. I have received both the Yeah and Nay call so I understand what you all will be experiencing. Remember you are all fantastic and worthy and the Panel would be lucky to have all of you. :goodvibes

Good Luck! :wizard::wizard:

This is tough...while I love Christmas at WDW, I have to say that Halloween is my favorite time of year at WDW -- specifically at the MK.

The decorations, the jack-o-lanterns on Main Street, MNSSHP...it's all so much fun (and Halloween is my favorite holiday)! Plus, what could be more fun than trick-or-treating at the MK? My DD5 still talks about that ... and it's been 2 years!

(DD5 wants to know (1) when are we going back for Halloween, (2) when are we going to WDW for Christmas, and (3) can we go to WDW in January for her 6th birthday? [um...yeah...she has no idea that my DH and I are going 2 weeks after her b-day...without the kids. Oooooh boy....that's going to be a tough one!])

Anyway....:rotfl:

Good Luck Round IIIers! I can't wait to start reading the posts that say "I Made It!" <insert goosebumps here>

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I know this is a tough day for everyone, but I am excited to hear who is going to make the 2010 panel, and who will be the star 2011 applicants (remember how many 09 panelists were 08 finalists, so chin up!).

Good wishes to Laura and her team, for with all the fun calls, they have to make some sad ones too.

...Saying that, when I read that someone in the third round (I've never made to the second in three years), has gone just a handful of times, and only in the past two years, I'm confused. ... As someone who has stayed at 15 of the resorts, eaten at probably, most of the restaurants/counter service, I'm just confused.

Thanks for feeling free to voice your opinion and concern. I'm sure you aren't alone in your point of view. It is interesting and healthy to know what others are thinking / feeling.

I personally agree with several others who replied to your post with support for a Panel with a variety of backgrounds.

It is definitely helpful to have some panelist that have significant experience (e.g., 50+ trips, stayed at all resorts, eaten at most restaurants), but that is just part of the equation.

Before I was on the panel, I had been to WDW fewer than 10 times. I gained most of my WDW knowledge planning a family trip about a year before I made it on the panel. I'd like to think that my more recent experience of going through a very detailed (OK, obsessive;)) process of preparing gave me a different perspective from some others.

For me, I only needed about three trips to become a helpful WDW planner:
Trip 1: Didn't plan. Long lines, and didn't experience much
Trip 2: Hyper-planned. Tried to see and do everything, and was exhausted at the end of the trip
Trip 3: Found the right balance for our family and had a great experience

During my year on the panel I tried to help people learn from my recent experiences, so they might actually have a "trip 3" on their first trip.

Could I answer all of the questions about every resort and restaurant? No. But I was able to answer other very important questions from first time planners trying to prepare as best as possible for their "once in a lifetime" trip. My hope is that some of the families we helped had a great time, experienced some magic and have since decided that once is not enough. :thumbsup2

It's also worth mentioning that "WDW experience" is probably only part of the equation. I think it also helps to be professional, write well, show empathy for others, get along in a group, etc. etc. Also seems that more recently they are looking for some folks with social media experience.

I doubt my words will change your mind, but I do sincerely thank you for prompting this healthy discussion, and giving me reason to share my perspective on the issue.

- Bret

p.s. Good luck to everyone waiting for the final 2010 Moms Panel decision today (at least I HOPE it's today!!!) :goodvibes
