2010 Holiday Tour booked! Added: compilation of who's going when.

We will be going to DLR/DCA December 23-27 (coming back home on the 28th, but the plane is leaving 8:50 that morning). On the 23rd we will be getting in to John Wayne/SNA about 3pm, so can't do the Holiday Tour that day.

*So* I need some advice from the experienced hands on this thread...
Which day/time would you do the Tour?
Is it *really* worth it for a family of first-timers (party of three - me, DH & 18 year-oldDD)?
What is the first day I can call to make reservations?

Thanks,
agnes!

I do believe that's the last of the day, Sherry. The calendar into December as far as it goes is showing the last(or only) parade being at 5:30pm, so the tour would start at 3pm.

Does anyone have a link to this 'December calendar'?

Thanks,
agnes!

Yes, I think the tour is worth it! This will be our 3rd year taking it. There are 5 of us, so we usually won't pay that much for something to do again unless we think its worth it.

You can call a month before. So, if you want to take it on Dec. 25, call on Nov. 25. I don't know what day you should take it but I prefer the later tour time. I like ending when its dark, and watching the parade in the dark. The parade seats are right across from IASW, which is just beautiful at night.

Just wondering if anyone has been successful in getting the AAA discount for the holiday tour very recently. We'll be booking ours on November 21 for our December visit and I really want that discount!

Hi NorCal Mom,

We are going on the same tour as you. This will be our 3rd year taking the tour. We love it! I also have a 12 year old daughter, and a 10 year old daughter and a 9 year old son. There will be 7 of us on the tour.

Cool! Hopefully we'll be in the same group! :santa: I can't wait!

Oh yes, I really think this is something well worth the money! I normally don't buy into the extras that much, but this will be my 3rd year as well and I plan to go every year if I can!

One huge advantage for you, since you'll be there at such a busy time, is that you get to go on IASWH, HMH, the train and...maybe that's it, but those rides without waiting in line (or not much of one) or having to get a FP. It's absolutely beautiful, and so much fun to walk along singing carols along with your headphone music while people all around you are craning to see why you get to do this. You get a fudge sample and later, a giant Mickey gingerbread cookie with a big travel mug full of cocoa to enjoy while sitting in your padded seat watching the parade you did not have to hold a spot for. Often, you will get personal attention from the parade characters including high-fives :lovestruc. At the end, you all get a nice commemorative pin.

I  the Holiday Tour!!

I think if I were going Dec. 23 to 27 the Holiday Tour might save some sanity. Think of it as your Christmas present -- on Dec. 24 or 25 (busy busy busy) you have no wait for some big holiday attractions and the parade seating, plus a snack. I think the busier the park gets, the better the value.

You can book exactly one month in advance (and I would do it the first morning you can) and there are 20 % discounts for Annual pass, Disney VISA, and AAA that I know of (works out to $51.20 with any of those discounts).

ACK!!!!!!! I need help, ASAP!!!! I FINALLY talked my dh into the tour. He would have done it regardless but I think I actually have him excited about it. So, I'm booking tomorrow morning for December 9th, or the next morning for December 10th. I have read conflicting reports about which tour to do, the noon or 3:00 one. Some have said they prefer the noon one because they like to experience the parade during the day. Others have said they prefer the 3:00 one because they prefer the parade in the dark. Can you please tell me why you prefer which time? I'm trying to make an educated decision before I call in the AM.
Thanks!

From what I have read on this thread,m some people prefer the later one because you apparently get to see IASW all lit up in the dark.

Oh, and this question will sound really stupid...
ummm...
what number do I call :teeth:? I don't want to waste time calling the wrong # and then miss out, because you see...you-all have convinced me.

If you are booking a weekday, such as December 9 - you ONLY GET ONE CHOICE OF TIMES and it is 3pm. Only one tour on those days.

To another poster - YES you can use AAA discount - I used it yesterday.

Do they ever add the earlier tour (the 1'ish one I think) for weekdays when it gets closer to Christmas?

Booked this morning! Will be going to the 3PM tour on Sunday, 11/20 with my friend and her (19yo) son. And my LGMH, of course!

Aww...i'm so sad we're still alone on ours :( Someone hurry up and book the 19th! LoL.

We would have done the 19th except we have WOC dinner at Tratoria at 5PM..... LOL

My apologies if this has been asked before. How many do they usually book for each tour?
