2010 Holiday Tour booked! Added: compilation of who's going when.

My apologies if this has been asked before. How many do they usually book for each tour?

When we have done it in the past, there were usually 3 tour groups. I think there were around 15 or so people in each group.

Hey everyone! Since I am now on my vacation :cloud9:, I may not be on the boards everyday to update the list. Please be patient with me! And if anyone wants to do the copying & pasting to add new names so that the thread doesn't fall behind, I would be very grateful.

Do they ever add the earlier tour (the 1'ish one I think) for weekdays when it gets closer to Christmas?

agnes!

Agnes, my understanding is that the number of tours offered on any given day relates to the number of parades scheduled!

So if your date has two parades, there will be an earlier tour and a later one. The tours are set 2 and half hours before the parades so the touring parties can see the parade.

Hope that answers your questions. :hippie:

Can't wait to do the tour and finally get to see the park at Christmas time!:cloud9:

Well, I just called to make our reservation for Sunday, Dec 12. The CM informed me that you do not get a reserved seat for the parade. They changed it this year and at the conclusion of the tour you get off of IASW and go on your merry way with your mug and cookie. I asked if she was sure there were no seats or an area for us to view the parade. She repeated "No, there is not". I did not book the tour for this reason. And I am upset about it. Has anyone else been told this? Or has anyone had it confirmed that you get reserved seating for the parade? I am sad. :guilty:

Oh no! Linda, I hope that's not true! I hope that's a case of the CM not having any idea what she was talking about (as is the case with some of them!). That parade seating is one of the biggest draws for the tour for me. I don't even bother with the parade most of the time, but I was considering the holiday tour this year (I will also be at DLR on December 12!) if money is working in my favor - just so I could finally see the parade with some seats, while munching on my cookie and sipping my cocoa, as well as being able to get on IASWH and HMH without long waits.

If they are keeping the price for the tour the same as last year - or if it's been raised - and yet they have removed one of the main reasons to do the tour, I think many folks will be unhappy with that.

You know, if the rumors are true that a Christmas Party may eventually make its way into Disneyland, with fireworks and the parade suddenly becoming paid ticket-party exclusives, then I could understand where the tour will not be able to include the parade anymore. BUT, the supposed party in DL is not due to happen until next year if not later, so why rob the tour participants of the parade seats in 2010?

What! I will call Disney too. That is outrageous if true. That is a HUGE draw of the tour for us. To charge the same price and not have parade viewing is crazy. Lets hope it was a misinformed CM.

I would call again and see if you can get someone else. Not sure why they would schedule around parade times, if the parade was not part of the tour. But if that is true, I think there will be a lot of upset people who booked the tour!

I am in the park today. I'll stop by the tour office later today & try to get to the bottom of this. I'm gonna have 13 people furious with me if this turns out to be true.

(I posted this in the Christmas thread as well....)

I just called and spoke to a CM who said the tour still included the parade seating. I said I had heard it had been changed this year and she said that wasn't the case. When I asked her what it included, she mentioned what we know (HM, IASWH, celebrations around the world story, hot chocolate and gingerbread man with keepsake when you sit down for the parade). I confirmed it was seated, preferred viewing.

Maybe the other posted just got a misinformed CM? I know we definitely wouldn't do it if the parade seating were not included.

Oh no!!! I, as well, hope that this is not true!! I booked the tour for 8 of us (our family, my Mom & Dad as well as some friends) based primarily on getting those seats for the parade. And if this has changed, are they adding in something different to make up for it??

And thanks for your above post NewbieMouse...that makes me feel a bit better!

Thanks for the reassurance guys. I just tried calling but was put on endless hold. I feel excited about it again. It is so annoying that sometimes the castmember is misinformed. At least we have the Dis to help set things straight!

I am going to call back in a few minutes. I hope you are all correct and I spoke to a misinformed CM. I'll post back. Sorry for the false alarm, but I was upset, too!

Ok, I just called again and spoke to a CM named Elizabeth and she said YES, the tour includes reserved seating for the parade. I am so glad!

Thanks everyone for checking, so I knew to call back. :)

Ok everyone, I saw with my own 2 eyes the preferred seating for today's 3pm parade with plaids standing nearby. People holding mugs were getting into their seats. It certainly looked like Holiday Tour to me!

I talked to the CM at the tour booth in the park on the way out. Parade Seating IS included.

We did the tour today with raftislander(sp?) and it was great! It was so nice to meet you K!

The seating was awesome, everyone got a front row seat, no tiered seating.

Thanks to all who have posted in this thread! I am soooooo glad to hear the reserved seating is still available!
I am so keen to do this tour, I will be calling in from Australia at 3am our time:scared1:
I want to do this on my birthday on Dec 23 as I think it will make my day just that much more special!
Also wanting to do Fantasmic PS on the same day if possible. Can someone tell me if I can book both at the same time as it would save me a phone call!
Also, I have purchased Premium AP's for my family and I. I have them printed via the e-ticket but am wondering if I wll qualiy for an AP discount as we don't actually have the passes yet. If someone could clarify this for me I would appreciate it very much!
Total Disney overload birthday, as we are having breakfast with Minnie and Friends too....................sounds like the best birthday ever!!!:cheer2:
Cheers
