**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

Some are noticeably lower:

Tuna Sensation is $5.95 this year

and the Champagnes at the Champagne / Dessert Booth are $5 something (not more than 6) ... almost half the cost of last year's.

FYI - last night (Friday) it was crazy crowded ... tonight will probably be worse!

Saw the champagne prices... how big are the pours? Same as last year, or are they smaller? If they are the same size, I'm gonna be one happy girl!

Smithwicks Ale

Can someone please tell me how much the Beer Passport is this year?
May be mistaken but didn't see a beer passport this yr. They are now offering beer flights (3 6oz. pours of your choice for $7.25)

Was over there today for the 12 Noon Trivento Vineyards Seminar. Two good Malbecs and a nice crisp Torrontes. Pours were imho small Oh well. It was still fun, informative and Air Conditioned.
Sorry no food porn. By the time we exited the seminar and headed over to WS It was getting toasty and already pretty crowded at 1. Can only imagine what the lines will be like this evening. Turned around and exited to Beaches and Cream for a Cheeseburger in Paradise.:thumbsup2

What else beside Food; dessert; wine and beer are included in the numbers. I;m planning my strategy and counting out my change jar. I'm a first timer and I want to be prepared. Thanks

Besides the four categories categories above, there is also sake; coctails (including smoothies, slushies etc.); sparkling wine; and misc drinks that didn't fit into the other categories (e.g. tea).

What a fun event! The presenter Antoine, gave us the history of Grand Marnier, Cocktails, and Hotels and in a very funny delightful manner.
We were served a Mimosa at seating. The presentation consisted of 3 shots of GM, making a cocktail and enjoying a crepe suzette and souffle. It was a cold souffle. I will not go into detail for those of you still waiting to attend.

We were shown to our seat, so they must have some way of pre-assigning.
These were at each seat.

The placemat

the tasting exercise (Antoine lost control of the room at this point)

After the 3 shot tasting he asked for a volunteer to prepare and 'shake' the cocktail. Many volunteered, only one was chosen. Being French he chose a young woman with the deepest cleavage to demonstrate the shake ... gotta love the French male ;)

Assembling our cocktail

Garcon getting ready to flambe the crepe!

I forgot to take a picture of the crepe and souffle .... too much Grand Marnier by that time!
What a fun afternoon plus we learned some things about Grand Marnier!

Redzinner, are you allowed to take the shaker home with you from the Grand Marnier event? I'm going to need some help getting around after those shots, the cocktail & the dessert items nevermind the mimosa.

 No, I even asked the waiter to please rinse it out and return it! :rotfl2:
They did give us something at the end of the presentation ... not Grand Marnier and it isn't as nice as that shaker. I really wanted the muddle stick!
It did last an hour and a half so maybe you'll be okay to navigate!

Can someone tell me which booth has the much-talked about lobster rolls? I don't want to miss them!

The taste, shake and indulge was awesome! Especially for the price.

I enjoyed the party of the senses greatly but I had way too much to drink today.

The lobster roll is at the Hops & Barley booth.

I haven't ever tried it. I dislike lobster and detest mayonnaise. It would be $7.50 ill spent here.

What does the cookbook actually have it? Does it have the recipes that match the booth food options?

The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival cookbook is indeed a compilation of recipes served at the Marketplace Kiosks. In most cases, the recipes have been repreportioned in order to make sense in the home kitchen. In addition, some recipes offer subsitutions for ingrediants which may be unfamiliar to or difficult to find for North American home cooks.

In honour of this 15th Anniversary of the Festival, the Cookbook has been divided this year into three sections.

One section recounts recipes of dishes that have come and gone at the Festival Kiosks, such as the French Onion Tart or Canadian Maple Fudge.

Another section details recipes which have stood the test of time and become some of the most beloved favourite dishes among Guests, such as the Canadian Chedder Cheese Soup, the French Escargots Persillade en Brioche or the American New England Lobster Roll.

The final section details recipes newly introduced for this year's festival, either in the new Belgian or Korean kiosks, or in new dishes introduced in returning kiosks. These includes dishes such as the Spanish Almond Cake, Singaporean Beef Rendang or the Belgian Mussels in Roasted Garlic Cream Sauce.

The New England Lobster Rolls will be available at the Hops and Barley Marketplace Kiosk, located in The American Adventure pavilion of World Showcase.

I agree on the taste, shake, and indulge. It was great to meet you and your husband.

Oh wow thanks for sharing....

Has anyone had the cookbooks in the past, are they worth while?

Did you notice any differences from past PFTS?

It was great meeting you too!

I haven't been to a PotS since 2007. I noticed there was two places for beer in comparision to only Sam Adams. The international cheese selection was a slight disappointment to years before. The desserts were great and many of the samples were too.

Get happy girl! Same pours as last year in the plastic flutes.

YES! This absolutely makes my life. Last year I think the champagne was all $7-$10 if not more. I got the Rose Imperial and it was wonderful. I believe I spent $9 for that. Here is a great picture to get you all excited... :cool1:
