**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

Is it too early to talk about favorites?

I haven't been yet but I'm hearing Mexico is showing strong this year. I usually skip most of Mexico. Is it really as good as I'm hearing?

Anyone have any early favs? And how about the new additions? Fabulous or disappointing?

Also one other question. My brother in law may be going with us, he has dairy and nut allergies. I told him there may not be much offered he can eat. Some skewers I think. But I know he'll enjoy drinking around the world and we can get a burger for him in America or something.

Has anyone gone with someone with food allergies? Is it just best to provide alternate food or if we research enough finding some things he can try?

Any Marketplace Kiosk Restaurant Guest Service Manager, Chef or Sous Chef will be happy to assist you in making selections appropriate to your brother's medical needs. You can visit any of the Kiosks and request a Host or Hostess to contact them.

Due to logistical concerns, most of the dishes can't be altered to meet specific dietary requirements. However, there are many dishes which naturally conform to the need for dairy- and nut-free products.

I just posted a ton of food porn. Click here for a slideshow of everything we tried yesterday. There was nothing that I really hated, although I found more of the food to be spicy this year (including the bison chili). My favorite was the tuna sensation from Japan, and the cherry colada and ginger ice cream were great for a hot day. It was WICKED crowded. Lots of people just plopping down and picnicking on whatever grassy patches they could find.

Thanks so much for posting...and Hey, I think we have cruised together....

Also - can anyone report if the Bison Chili from the US booth has beans or not?

Yes, it definitely has beans. I'm not a fan of beans in chili so this was a disappointment. Digging around the beans did give a good taste though.

Thank you for this!

At the Moet booth, they started on Saturday serving the champagne in a much, much smaller glass - somewhere between the icewine plastic glasses and the "regular" wine plastic glasses. It was to be expected I guess.

I got my review of the Taste, Shake, Indulge up in my report thread this afternoon if anyone is interested. Hopefully I can get Party of the Senses up tonight but thats going to be dependent on how much I have at Shulas

Booooooooooooooo!! Booooooo!! Silly Disney... give us more for less once. Just once!

I thought I saw champagne at the Moet booth on Saturday in little wine glasses (about 2 oz) but then when somebody posted pictures of a flute, I figured I was mistaken and perhaps had seen white wine. Probably not. Think about it.. standard wine glass is 5oz (5 per bottle). At that rate ($5.95/glass)they would sell a bottle of Moet for $30 (not at Disney - no way).

In the first couple of days, the frozen cherry colada machine in Puerto Rico has been NOT working more than it's been working. Here's hoping they get it fixed cuz they're good. Italian fruit smoothie-yum! Ireland casserole and chocolate cake, dessert trio at dessert place, belgian waffle, german spaetzle-all yum. Brazil port skewer-not so great. Bison Chilli-I thought was too hot, but DH liked.

It has been reported by friends (not here on Dis) that the Champagne Booth is no longer serving champagne pours in the flutes. Maybe they ran out of flutes? No, not this early. Anyway it appears they have reduced the amount of pours as reflected in the reduced cost. :confused3

Champagne was in a laughably small glass. It was like a shot. I think my Mom had about 3 swallows.

As an aside: we also had a small pour of Merlot (or some red wine) at the Cheese booth, after that we started checking out the size of the pours first. Italy & South Africa booth had good pours. And Italy as a whole was an excellent booth.

Here's the shot of the champagne: http://twitpic.com/2ur4kb This was after she had 2 sips. It was "full" when she got it.

Ain't that the truth! I was appalled at how small my drink was tonight. The dessert trio was great and a good deal. But 1 oz of wine for $5 is not right.

I'm shocked the champagne isn't in a flute! I mean they've had the flute glasses for the past few years! Yeah it was a lot more money but at least it was served correctly.

I was going to circle back last night and get champagne, but when I saw the pour, decided not to. I'd rather spend $12 for a glass of champagne to get a glass of champagne! My Mom said (and I agree) if she knew how small the pour was, she wouldn't have gotten it.
