We talked to DCL today about the hotels for the Baltic cruises - here are the web links for anyone interested in looking ahead.

We are planning to have both a pre- and post-cruise stay in London so we hope to stay at one on the way over and one on the way back. I was glad to see that the Park Plaza and the Renaissance both can accommodate four in a room... we had to get two rooms in Barcelona in 2007.

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

There are several Park Plaza hotels in London. We stayed at the Park Plaza London Victoria this past summer and liked the location and the modernness of the hotel.

I just did a Kayak search for airfares for the dates in 2010 using 2009 instead.

Flyng from Boston to London & returning to Boston from Barcelona was cheaper then 2007!

Sounds good to me as my flights to Florida in April were 2/3 the price of the international fare!

Not confirmed yet, but looks like the deposits for 10+ for 2009:

Deposits will be $800 per person for the suites (non refundable) final payment due 150 days prior to sailing and $600.00 per person for cat. 4-12 final payments are due 120 days prior to sailing.......this information is what we heard for the 10 + night cruises........

My questions is, if you booked onboard with the 50% reduced deposit promotion, when you transfer your dummy cruise to your TA, do you pay $600 per person deposit for the Baltic or doe you get to pay $300 deposit for the Baltic.

Surely as the offer is on until the end of the month it should work. Disney did confirm the deposit is $600 for at least the TA one which is 14 days

Whilst Disneyland hotel is at the Disneyland park entrance, I do not rate it, too expensive, the pool at NY is better, and the restaurants are better.

It is extremely expensive, but where else in the world can you look right down Main Street from your hotel room window?

When we went on the British Isle cruise on Princess, we flew from New Jersey to Paris, took the bus to DLP and stayed at the Hotel New York for 2 nights. We took Eurostar to London, stayed in London at a Marriott next to the big wheel, then took the train to Southampton the day of the cruise.
After the cruise, we took the train back to London, stayed 2 nights at a hotel airport, then took the train back and forth to London. We also got to see Mary Poppins before it came to New York.
We are planning on the first Baltic from Dover for 2010.......not sure of pre and post travel plans yet.

Or 'Andrew's place' just 18 miles from the city center, and 30 mins by train, and just 45 mins from Dover, excellent rates, just a 'cruise' will do it!

It is extremely expensive, but where else in the world can you look right down Main Street from your hotel room window?

True but at the time I get in the parks its often covered in fog!!

I had a meal there at 'Inventions' hat was nice and had a look around, but I prefer Hotel New York, its the second best Disney hotel to the Disneyland hotel, and only a short walk, the pool is better and a great location for Disney village.

There isn't an international airport close. Easiest way is probably into Heathrow or Gatwich and then bus/train out

• HEATHROW
• GATWICK
• or
• STANSTED

Would be best.

DOVER is on the train service from London Victoria or Charring cross,
Gatwick is also on another line that goes into Victoria.

For Disneyland Paris or Paris, you can go b Eurostar train direct to/from Ashford international, (For Dover) or St Pancras for London.

Heathrow trains go into Paddington or the Piccadilly line into central London.

Might be vacant for 12 nights in 2010, and has a big train set layout for model train lovers! Local forest walks, and easy to London by two train services.

Might be looking to you for suggestions as the trip gets closer.
When we sailed out of Southampton, we stayed in London, and took the train to the port. On the way back, we stayed at an airport hotel and took the train back and forth to London. That was 6 years ago.

Might be looking to you for suggestions as the trip gets closer.

On our main permanent layout we have 18 trains, on a circuit of three tracks and sidings, so three trains can run at the same time, it has its own room, DS has also considerable monorail track and other layouts.

I am looking at the repo cruises in 2010 but will have to take the kids. I cannot leave them for that long.
Will they be bored with six ocean days in a row?? In 2010 they will be 10, 7 and 3.

What about the flight to/from Barcelona? I am figuring prices will be about $700 p/p. The flight will take 21 hrs. I don't even know if I can take that long of a flight, much less the kids(mostly the little one).

If anyone has any experience with taking the family on a repo cruise, I would really like to hear about it.

I would love to give this experience to the family but I don't know if I should wait until they are older???
