200909?? - Third Annual Fall ladies trip-Sept. 2009

all of us are going solo and most will not eat ts alone.

except for me.
when i am hungry i don't care.........

nothing stops me from chowing down.

last few times what we did was spend a lot of time together during the day and evening.

we did our meals together except for one night.

i went to le cellier alone and the other homies did the pfts at epcot.

we all had fun that night.

the last two years, one group did boma and another group went somewhere else.

if there are places you don't like, and want to do another restaurant, there will always be another homie to dine with.

namely me, i'm still hesitant to do boma...

i would probably eat deserts there the entire time....

i'm sure the homies here will post the places they like, don't like, places they want to try this year.

i'm still trying to decide on doing the backlot tour.

Sounds perfect! My kinda folks. ::yes:: I'm so excited now!:yay:

I would skip Boma too - can't really eat the food there (too spicy) - except the desserts, of course!

Do you all usually do the dining plan?

I see some of you are from Chicago? I was born there, all my family is there. LOVE that town!!

i know Geffric and I are in chicagoland.
are you able to get back here and visit family very often?

not sure if any others are. i'll have to look back and see locations on others' siggies.

i booked the bounce back package when i was at the motherland last year.
the free dining is on my package.

some in the group will do the ddp and some won't.
i believe pat used the tiw last year that had a discount for it.

not all used the dining plan last year.
when we ate, we did separate checks for the meals.

We haven't been back in almost 4 yrs. We moved to NC from Boston 3 yrs ago and it's not as affordable from here. Next yr when my grand baby is a toddler we might take a road trip. My parents are buried in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery and grandparents and uncle are at Resurrection and Queen of Heaven.

:rotfl: I told you I'm old!! :rotfl: Talking about cemeteries!!! :rotfl:

Of course, we'll see our living relatives too!! ;)

(Between Milwaukee and Chicago.... my brother's in Woodstock)

Hey M&N,
You really might join us in October. Yeah!!! Remember you won't ever be truly alone because if you want to meet just call and if you want to join us at an ADR I will let you know what we have when July comes around.

Macraven,
I meant to tell you that I saw your post on the transportation board about your taking AA out of Ohare in Oct. We got the low prices on AA out of Ohare recently too. Leaving 10/2 coming home 10/11. I love AA because they never mess with my flights.

Angela

Ang, I am going to do my best to be there - I am really getting excited...and trying to finagle a way to stay 5 ngts instead of 4.:woohoo:

WHAT............??

i called disney and they told me it was the same price as what i had already booked last sept 08 for this year's package.

i think i need to call again and see if there has been another drop.

the website still shows what i was told...

Angela

angela, on airfare watchdog, i received an email yesterday that AA is having the $158 rt fare again and it continues thru nov 4th this year.

i'm so glad you got a great price!!

I book between united and american each year.
i only like united for the tv movies.

they have cut back on the non stop flights from ord to mco again this year.

AA had a better price and better flights this year.
so i went with them.

i go the cheapest way i can........:goodvibes

Geffric,
A free flight is a free flight no matter what airline. Does Delta have movies on their flights too?

Raven,
I had a movie on AA one time 2 years ago. When we have had tv's typically they have only run junk commercials on them. I always got the best cost and times on AA luckily. I might have to bring our portable DVD player this year.

I was the one who saved $52 using this years free dining code. I priced it online first and it showed the difference there before I called and asked them to apply the new code.

Angela

Hi Everyone.
Welcome to Minnie&Nana and angwill. I added your names to our list on the first page of this thread. I'm glad that you will be joining us since we had a great time the past two years. I think you'll find that we are a very easy going group. As the trip approaches we'll all exchange cell phone numbers so that no one will find themselves alone.
Don't worry about your age Christine- with a few exceptions, most of us have been around a good long time!! I'm sure you'll be very comfortable with our group.
I usually like to do counter service meals for breakfast and lunch and have a nice table service dinner. The reason some of us ate at different places last year was because three of us wanted to try the Party for the senses at Epcot. Otherwise, we will try to coordinate our dining plans so that we eat together most of the time.
Is anyone interested in doing the PFTS this year?

Hi ladies! Got a little nudge from Mac today so I figure I better check in. You guys still got room for me? This winter has been LOONNNGGGG and dreary - it's still hanging on for all it's worth (snowing outside as I type this). My mood has been gloomy and I'm itching to begin planning for my Fall trip.

Dates have adjusted slightly to accomodate a couple special events. I'm coming in on 9/23 and staying four nights at POR. During that time, I'll be attending a private event at The Adventurers Club and running in The Expedition Everest Challenge.

On the 27th, I'll be moving over to Pop to join my friend Shirley (remember her? the self proclaimed slug). She's probably only staying through around 10/3. I, on the other had will be there through the 10th. I was going to stay through Sunday and run in the Race for the Taste. Bu, instead, I'm coming home a day earlier than planned because I need to prepare for the next weekend when I'll be running in my first 1/2 marathon in Des Moines.

During my stay, I'm planning on PFTS (10/3), Sweet Sunday (9/27), Ft. Wilderness Segway Tour (??), Backstage Magic Tour (??) and Characters in Flight (??). Who knows what else I might try to cram in there - any ideas?

I'm planning on eating at every Signature Restaurant on property and a few other places tossed in for good measure. Since Shirley will likely be leaving earlier than me and the dining plan is more food that I can possibly eat, I will probably have some CS credits to share with you guys. I'll also have a TIW card this year that we can use for our TS meals.

angela, well......i called for the 3rd time just now and they did adjust my rate this time.

i received a credit of $51.98.

woo hoo........:woohoo:

a big thank you for letting me know you did the modification also.

at first, the CM said, no, your rate is correct.
after i explained that it wasn't, she checked into it and gave me the credit on my reservation.

i owe you a mickey bar..

i love sales.......

you'll never know how much crap i have bought in my lifetime just because it was on sale.
3/4 of all of that, went into garage sales.......

glad you are here disney deeva........:goodvibes

there is always room for jello.
i mean, always room for more homies....

hey, do you want to do the backstage magic tour for friday oct 2nd?
i read it is only m-f for that tour.

anyone else want to do that tour??
post a heads up on here and what day is good for you.

we remember shirley..........

i was hoping to do at least one signature dinner this time.
have been looking at the menus and a few look fine to me.

as long as i can get a great steak and a delicious desert, i'm ready to book it.

macraven,
So glad you finally got them to credit the money. I am a sucker for a sale too and figure $51.98 is a decent savings.

DFNU,
Thanks for adding me. I wish I was staying till 10/22 but sadly I will be going home 10/12. We are staying at Pop too.

Can't wait till July so I can start making plans.

Ang

post a heads up on here and what day is good for you.

I'm leaning towards Wednesday, 9/30 or the following Monday, 10/5 for the tour. Fridays are usually good days for free classes and tastings at the Food & Wine Festival. Shirley will be gone by the 5th so that may work out best. I'll have to see what park hours look like when they come out this summer.

BTW Ang - I got Shirley to call today and she saved $52 on our package as well. Thanx for the "heads up"!!

But, I'm gonna do it for sure! It sounds awesome and gets great reviews!!

monday would work also for me.

on 9/30, my plane lands at 10:10 am.
so that date wouldn't work for me for the backstage tour.

most in the group will be arriving on the weekend, that is why i suggested the friday before most came.
i think only one other person said they might be interested in that tour last year.
i know it takes up the entire day for it and not sure how many are willing to give up that much time for a tour.

i go annually so it is not an issue for me to give up park time.

but, the tour is done by 5 and we can still all do a group dinner on that monday.

If no one else is interested, how about Thursday, 10/1? That way we avoid the weekend F&W events and most of the group isn't arriving until after the 1st. However, if anyone else wants to join in, we can use the 5th as an alternate date. Will that work?

I don't mind missing park time but do love the F&W Festival - this will be my 9th year in a row and usually spend as much time at Epcot as I can.
