Hi all!!! Just checking in. Nothing new going on re: Disney here. We just got back late Thursday from Myrtle Beach for a week. It was great, but as usual I was also ready to come home. The only vacation I DON'T feel that way is Disney!! I love it so much, and the Poly, that I don't want to leave!!

Still pondering ADR's a bit here - esp. since the Filet has been taken away at Kona. I LOVED it and am so disappointed. Not sure if we'll still go there or try something else.

Does anyone know when the discount rates for 2009 might come out. I am going to add a couple of days at Vero Beach and I am hoping for a discount.

New to this thread...going 1/11-1/16
All Adrs are reserved...that's a relief 4 day base tickets but thinking of making it 5 as EMH at MK the day we arrive and it would be cool to take the kids that first night but we'll have to see. We are driving from Chicago and hoping to do the bulk of the hours in the first day so we can have a short drive the second day.
As far as where we are staying well currently we have reservations at WL in a bunkbed woodsview room. However we've changed our minds now 4 times and we are TRYING to get into CR in a tower MK view room. That will be our last switch so I hope we can luck into it...currently nothing available but a 2 bedroom suite which is WAY out of the budget AAA TA keeps checking on that for us so hopefully we'll get it as time gets closer.

I'm sad also to see that Kona took the filet off the menu...I was definitely looking forward to trying that on our last night for dinner. I will have to see what else is on the menu to see if I may switch that adr to somewhere else.

It was all I could do not to laugh, because I have been thinking about that too....this time last year we were at MK. (insert big sigh) It's been fun lookng at the photos and scrapbook of last years trip!

Now if only June 2009 would hurry up.

Just yesterday I saw a great review and photo of the Teriakyi strip steak - it looked/ sounded VERY good. So I think we'll stick with Kona. At least I can still get my filet at Le Cellier - which is what we do for our last night dinner.

I am glad I am not the only one that thinks back on previous trips and remembers what I was doing on that day. Soon though I can finally think forward and say a year from today I will be at Disney!!

We are getting ready for school to start next week, so I have been busy getting the gang ready for that. This year DS5 is going to kindergarten!!!! He is soooo excited!!!! Went to open house and met his teacher yesterday.

Anywho, I do have a Disney related question to ask!

Here is the scenario...... I friend of mine is supposed to be joining my crew for part of our trip, (about 5/6 nights in the middle of our two weeks). They are getting there own room at the same resort and wanted to do some parks and TS with us. My question is how should I go about booking the TS we are going to share? Can I book and ADR for a party of 10 even though my party is only 5? Would it be easier to book two tables for 5 and hope for the best? And one more question....if for some reason I book the ADR's for 10 people and she decides not to go would I be able to change the party size without loosing my ADR?

I know I've asked alot of questions....I hope someone can help!!!!

My DD5 started kindergarten too this week and I was so sad. This is our first one off to school and I even am letting her take the bus.. which is a huge step for me since I don't even let any of our relatives drive our kids. I know I am weird like that.

But I can't believe we are getting closer to our trip in April. I figure since school started and with all the holidays coming up 2008 will be done in a flash. Then we will only have a few months to go!!!! Just can't wait to those schedules come out so I can start planning.

Hi everyone!! This thread has been quiet. I'm not doing much Disney-wise here. After getting back from the beach, things have been crazy this week. DS started first grade on Monday (and that was harder for me than KDG was!!!), DH was out of town for work (which he never is) Mon- Wed, and worked 6 am - 9 pm on Thursday! Good news was they then gave him a 4 day weekend so he was off all day yesterday. I'm also the Chairperson for our co-op Nursery school's Parent board. This will be my last year, thank goodness, as this will be DD's last year of preschool, she started right as DS finished. School for her starts 9/8, but we have our parent meeting next week, so I had/still have a lot of work to do to get ready for that!! Busy time of year for us!!

I'm still tossing around some ADR options, but I think I"m pretty much decided:

CM dinner
Kona dinner
Mama Melrose dinner w/ Fantasmic Pkg
CRT lunch
T-rex dinner (OOP)
CP dinner
LeCellier dinner

I'd love to do a brunch buffet, but it just doesn't seem to be working out that way this time around.


Tasha - I'd go ahead and book for a party of 10. That way they know you're all together and will seat you at the same time. They'll probably tell you you'll likely need 2 tables anyways, but at least it will be on one ressie. If your friend's party doesn't go, you could call and see if you could downsize the ADR - if they have you set for 2 tables it shouldn't be a problem. If it IS a problem, I'd just leave them as-is and go to the restaurant and explain they had to cancel unexpectedly.

No, I didn't. Did you book directly through Disney? I didn't. I am using Dreams Unlimited this time so maybe that is the reason.

Things here have been really crazy. My sons started school last week. My oldest is in 6th grade and at middle school this year He is growing up so fast. He is really enjoying it, much more challenging and more things to do there (it's a brand new school that was just built last year). My youngest is in 1st grade and is loving it. This week I started back to school and I am still working full time. I am almost finished with school two more years to go!!!!

Something that is really really exciting I have finally booked my trip
We will be at Disney March 6-16th

Now that things are getting closer to us leaving (mostly when things calm down a little here) and as soon as I can book my ADR's (though I am so confused as to when I can sometime in Oct??) I am planning on doing a pretrip report to help it speed up -I believe I am the only one in Alaska who can't wait for winter to get here.

I should be booking my trip within the next week or so. I am so excited to just get a room booked. Seems like when I book the room and buy the plane tickets it's final, we're going to Disney. I'm looking to go in June and I want to look at Air Tran prices, but they don't have their schedule that far out yet. So, I'll have to wait on the airfare part.

I'm still around, just not as much lately. Kids finally went back to school last Thursday, so hopefully things will start to quiet down a little. It's just hard not being able to do much planning right now, we dont leave for 11 months . As soon as they finalize the DDP restaurants I'll be able to do more planning. But I'm always thinking about Disney, what bag to take?, what kind of shoes should I wear this trip?, the possibilities are endless.

YES that's ME! I feel somewhat obsessed and I have about 15mos to go! But I'm constantly thinking of what to pack, how to organize snacks/drinks for the girls, what restaurants to go to and even what TIMES to go. It's NUTS! Someone stop me!! haha
