2009 Discussion-We'll make time fly by!

Hi!

I am driving myself crazy. We just arrived last Sunday from a glorious vacation and I am antsy to start planning for our August 09 trip. We booked bounceback free dining! Can't wait! I really hope we can make time fly.

I'm going to have to try August soon. Getting to tough to take the kids out of school.

it was hot and humid of course. the crowds I found to be manageable though because a lot of folks seem to have started school already, but my kids started today, so the last week of August was perfect for us. I think Hurricane Fay might have driven some folks away because our first full day 8/23, which was at MK, was a breeze with short lines on most rides. And next year we will check in 8/23 which is when free dining starts (kids start school after labor day which is later next year). I think all in all it is at least a bit better than battling it in July, but I cant vouch for that since the last time I was there previous to last week was in 1995.

I CANT WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR. somebody please stop me from thinking about our next trip! Will this subside for at least a couple of months until it is time to agonize over ADRs? :rotfl2:

Nope it won't. We have been waiting for 10 years for this trip. I added my ticker when it was almost 2 years out, I am getting so excited i can barely contain myself somedays

Oh how is this for all the "back-to-school Moms", my youngest went to University on Monday! Talk about a big change around here. The dog is so homesick for her and I am finding the house a tad too quiet as well. I am spending my extra time reading dining reports and dreaming as I make notes of places we want (huhm even NEED) to try out this time.

I know how you feel, my oldest is going to turn 14 next month :scared1: !
It seems like only yesterday she was 2 and watching Cinderella 24/7..ah, the good old days.

I really have to agree with you guys about time flying...I also have a fourteen year old..

I have been planning our trip next year for over a year now.
I plan on having a few days in Miami, a week in Orlando enjoying Universal, Discovery Cove and Sea World, another week at Disney, capped off with a four-night on the Wonder.

My daughter asked if she could only come on the cruise, she doesn't want to do all the other stuff, she just wants to shop and stay by the pool in the hotel.:headache: :confused3

I wanted them to hold and look at... I like doing that:cloud9: :lmao:
I found them on ebay. $3.98 for all for parks and DTD. No shipping fee. I thought it was a pretty good deal! :thumbsup2 Can't wait til they come!

Well, my 10 year old assures me that she is not ever going to grow up! But she did just ask me to buy her some bras:rolleyes: Think she lied to me???

My DD10 has just begun needing to at least wear a training bra and she hates it! :rotfl2:

Not because she doesn't want to grow up and wear it, but because she is the baby girl of our family and everybody from Aunts, older cousins, Grandma, my DD16 and of course mean old mom; keeps commenting how cute it is that she growing up! We can't even walk through the underwear section of a department store without her blushing! :goodvibes

She's still OK with going to Disney..she probably thinks she'll run into the Jonas Brothers :rotfl: . It could also be that we live in PA and the chance of running into anyone we know is very slim. But seriously, the kids are really excited to be going again..they even want to eat at Crystal Palace w/Pooh and the gang!

I really can't believe it. We (I should say I) have been planning our trip for March 2009 for months. It finally feels like we are really going. I booked the Disney Pop Century a few weeks ago and just yesterday booked and paid for our plane tickets. Time does fly. Now it feels like we are really going.

OH How I undertand, I have been planning for this trip since before we left Disney in March of 2007 - and now I am under 6 months:banana:
Now if only Disney would post the park hours for march

Yesterday at work I found out that my co-worker is also a Disney lover:thumbsup2 This is the first one I have found! It was so nice to talk to someone and not get that "deer in the headlights" look.

Glad I'm not the only one obsessively checking the online calendar for March. To make it worse, they have the month up BUT NO HOURS. :confused3 They're killin' me!

OH WELL! We're booked for a family suite and we're goin' to Cindy's Breakfast, so all is right with "the World". :cheer2:

So how far in advance are the park hours posted? Would the EMH hours be posted at the same time?

Is this usually before prior to the 180 window where you can book your ADRs?

What do you veterans do? Do you wait until park hours / EMH are posted and then plan your ADRS? Or is it the other way around?

Sorry if I am asking too many questions. Our trip two weeks ago was planned just two months in advance so I just grabbed the ADRs I could (and I was able to get the three character breakfasts we wanted which in my mind was still pretty good) and then planned the days around them. Since we now have plenty of time to plan (or obsess?) before our next trip, I would like to be able to plan the ADRs around the park hours/EMH instead of the other way around. Is that the best course of action? suggestions please! :flower3:

This is only our second trip, but we used the unofficial guide last time (Oct '07) and swear by it now. Basically, we took our best guess at what the hours would be and which parks would have EMH's, then decided which parks we would visit each day.

We then booked our ADR's based on those decisions. It's inperfect, but we figured we'd rather get ADR's and then reschedule later if our guesses were wrong.

I also used the Unofficial Guide last time -2007- and will again. Some of our ADR's will be based on other things, though - like wanting CM for our first dinner and LeCellier for our last. And if Fantasmic stays on only Mon and Thurs next May when we go - we'll have to go there Mon. night (Thurs being our last night and hence LeCellier). We didn't see Fantasmic last time - DD was still scared of fireworks - so we'd really like to see it. But I'm worried about the crowds, for the show in particular and at DHS in general, if it's only 2x/week.

Hey guys I havent logged on in a while and have a quick question! Are we still having to wait to book our ADR's for March? Does anyone happen to know? Thanks!!!! :)
