2009 Discussion-We'll make time fly by!

Just stopping by to do a little celebration. My countdown just entered a new number - only 399 more days!!!!!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I told my DH the other day that this time next year I will probably start getting depressed. Thats what happened on the last trip. When it got so close I got down because all the planning was done and I knew it would soon be over. Anyone else get this way? I was still feeling that way when I got on the plane even on the way down. Luckily once I got there I became so excited again and it went away. I dread feeling that way again.

I see you are going the same time next year as me. Boy 399 shure sound far off but I remember when it was 499 when I booked my room. My Family looks at me like I am nuts. I tell them I am DISNEY NUTS LOL

Well when I started my countdown after our last trip it was over 1700 days :scared1: but then we kept shaving off years so I will take 399 days. I am sure the next year will drag by.

Glad I'm not the only one who gets depressed about going :rotfl: . I'm officially at 1 year today..1 year from now we will be at WDW :lovestruc ! I hope the year goes quickly..I really need a vacation.

Does anyone remember when all the restaurants were finalized for the ddp last year? We pretty much know what restaurants we are going to eat at, but I'd like to add some new ones too.

Wow, so I'm not the only one? :rolleyes1

Right now I'm sort of in a funk because the excitement of booking is over and I have at least four months until I can book ADR's! :sad2:

I need more active planning NOW!!!!

I have a dining scenario for you... we are planning a trip with our fam plus friends (1 Adult, 2 kids 10 and 13).

We are staying six nights on the dining plan, and are for sure doing Chef Mickeys and CRT breakfast.:goodvibes

Question: What do the DIS'ers suggest for our other 3 TS meals? Tell us what you love and feel free to show pics (that always help pass the time).

151 days until our January 2009 trip! Woohoo!

I love having multiple trips to WDW booked. :thumbsup2

Could you give us a little more info? Are you interested in more character meals?

I know a couple of our favorites last year were Whispering Canyon Cafe (dinner) and Crystal Palace (breakfast). :thumbsup2

Next year the kids really want to try Sci-Fi and maybe 50's Prime time. I want to try some of the Epcot restaurants.

The best advice I ever got on the Dis regarding ADR's is "sometimes you just have to try it yourself". There are alot of Diser's and alot of different opinions about every WDW restaurant.

Also, check out the Dining reviews board for some great reviews and pics! Or the Disney restaurant board (look for the WDW food pics thread).

HTH! :goodvibes

I think Marrakesh in Morroco and Biergarten in Germany are fun family places (for all age groups) to go. Plus you get dinner and a show with both!:thumbsup2

Woowooo......congrats on the 399 mark. I think we are around 427 :sad1:
I did call about two weeks ago and got our ressies for Oct 11-23 at Fort Wilderness for just our site, and was gasped when it was 112.00 a night for that time, but, like the sucker I am, I booked it anyway. However, a few days ago heard that the aaa rates were out and was able to call and apply that to my ressie, and now I am happy to say that its only going to be about 68.00 a night. Just bummed still though, because we really wanted to go over halloween, but its booked and they havent released any of the sites that are under renovation yet, so nothing is available, soooooo it looks like I will become a cm's worst night mare and call back twice a week every week until it becomes available....LOL Can only do the DDP by itself with your room or do you have to purchase tickets also?

I am have a hard time keeping it from the kids though. We arent going to tell them until we are in the truck and on our way. They will think we are going to visit Gramma. Ha Ha Ha.....lets hope I can keep it a secret that long. I already have my Disney For Kids By Kids pre ordered to get them in Sept when they come out and the new 2009 Leather bound passporter.....yes, I know ocd. But c'mon.....you know I am not alone here!!!!! LOL :surfweb:

I think you have to book a package to get the DDP but I could be wrong.

I also have the 2009 edition of passporter pre-ordered. I already have the leather binder so am waiting on the refill. Also have the UG pre-ordered. Can't wait to start getting Disney books in the mail. I didn't really need them because my others are fine but I like getting the new ones for the years we are going.

We do the dining plan every time we go. At HS, I love Mama Melrose Restaurant. You could book the Fantasmic dinner package - it doesn't cost extra - only 1 TS meal - you eat dinner, then you get tickets for a reserved area at Fantasmic...this way you don't have to stand in line for an hour to get into Fantasmic, you can wait until about 30 minutes before the performance starts to get in. I think Mama Melrose has the best food at HS. 50's Prime Time Cafe is also a lot of fun!

Pardon my ignorance but what is the passporter? Is it really useful? Is this something I should be getting? I have the Unofficial Guide for 2008 but thinking that I may want to get the 2009 also. Are there other resources out there that are must haves?

Thanks loads!:worship:

The passporter is another guide that can be used for disney. We use it and the unofficial guide because the passporter has pages that you can write on. in the back it has pages that are like little folders where you can write down what you did on specific days and store little things in the pockets. we like to use to to keep track of what we did each day so that we can look back later and remember the trip. we do not use it so much for planning, as for post vacation tracking. For planning we still use the unofficial guide. We have pre ordered that from amazon and it should be shipping later this month.

A PassPorter is The unique travel guide, planner, organizer, journal, and keepsake. It plans the perfect vacation with over 290 pages of advice, maps and photos of the resorts, restaurants, and theam parks. You can by them in local book stores or passporter.com.

My DH and I went in Sept 2007, had free dining really liked the plan the way it was. Hoping for free dinning for our trip that I'm planning for Sept 2009. I really like the character meals.
