2009 Discussion-We'll make time fly by!

Just thought I needed to get on the boards and see what is going on with other 2009ers. It just seems so far away the last few weeks, I have just had to put vacation on the back burner. This morning though I woke up and it was SNOWING,since I cann't escape the snow physically I needed to escape it mentally, so I have been busy reading my passporter and taking notes and now I am getting caught up on TGM and Disboards. This really has done wonders for me, now I keep thinking that I have less than a year to plan and I have to decide what ADR's I need to make, decide what parks on what days (can't wait for park hours to be released), buy plane tickets, book our resort and on and on and on. It really has renewed my spirit and caused some excitement around here, now I am going to watch the planning video for the hundredth time.

ADR planning is one of my favorite parts to plan. My DH is particulary fond of Disney food. We like to eat at TS restaurants and DD is pretty well-behaved at sit-down meals. Are there any restaurants that you are looking forward to eating at?

We plan on doing the DDP again. We use it every trip and we love it! DxDDP is probably too much dining for us. DD will be almost 5 years old when we go...so we want to use more time touring instead of eating.

Breakfast:
Princess Storybook Breakfast
Boma (oop)
'Ohana

Lunch:
We mostly do CS for lunch.
Late lunch/early dinner at Mama Melrose (Fantasmic Dinner Package)

Dinner:
Kona
Le Cellier
Yak & Yeti
Chefs de France

Okay we have narrowed it down to Nov 28th-Dec 5th or Dec 6-12th. The 28th is my son's bday (and my mom's so she might go) but I am afraid of Thanksgiving crowds and the taping of the Christmas Parade. Does anyone have any idea of the impact those have?

My plan is Nov. 26th - Dec. 5th. My son's birthday is Nov. 28th too! I am expecting the 26 - 29 to be very crowded. The key will be to get to the parks very early, then leave and spend the afternoons at the resort pool! The rest of the week should be very quiet. If the taping of the Christmas parade is that weekend I will avoid MK on Friday and Saturday (depending on when they are taping - I'm not sure if they do it on Friday or not). In general, I've heard really good things about the crowd levels the week after Thanksgiving.

hello everyone

My gang and I are planning our next trip for July 2009!!!

We will be celebrating DD16's High School graduation!!! And sadly our last family trip before she goes off to college. (I'm going to miss her sooo much!)

Anywho, we're planning a two week trip...the last two weeks of July.

Two of my closest friends and their families will be joining us for the first week, (for a total of 14 of us ), then the second week it'll just be me and the kiddos!

I have been lurking on this thread for sometime and decided it was time to join the fun!!

Only 467 days to go!!!!!

We are adding another trip for 2009. We will be at SSR from Jan 1 - 10 2009 as well as our cruise in March.

This is all I have right now and it will change 20 or more times before I can actually make reservations. I don't even have enough TS restaurants for the amount of time we plan to go . DS is very picky and unwilling to try new food , so that rules out a lot of places.

We will just do the regular DDP, and for us, it's worth the money, DH doesnt like to nickel and dime when it comes to eating .

I'm really thinking about dining now, LOL!! I was thinking tonight that, ASSUMING T-Rex will have to be OOP, and ASSUMING Tutto Italia will be open, have a similar menu and still be 1 TS credit ( a lot of assumptions at this point!), we may just do CRT on the dining plan (just DD and I, so that would be like using the leftover TS credit for all four of us), skip Mama's on our MGM night and just do CS. Then we'd do Tutto the following night. That way we'd only be paying for T-Rex OOP. If we did another TS, we'd have 2 extra CS. I'm sure we could use those up for breakfasts, etc, but this would save us the CRT expense. I'm thinking we can eat at Flame Tree for lunch on Monday (a pretty big meal), then Pizza Planet for dinner. We could definitely all share 3 pizza meals, so that would leave us only 1 CS short for the week. I had no problem last time using snack credits for a lunch instead, OR the kids could share another CS at some point. They shared them all last visit (since DD was 2) with no problem. I'll probably change my mind a million times...just my latest thought.

Hi Poohluv69, we had breakfast at Cape May in July'07 quite by accident. DH was trying to book a dinner one evening and got so carried away with chatting to the CM on the phone he came of with three ressies . The CM was Scottish and recommended CMC for the kids. Well it turned out to be one of the biggest successes of the holiday, the surroundings are lovely and the food delish but best of all was the character interaction it was the best out of all of the character meals we've been to . We're hoping to book it again for the first morning of our holiday in 2009
