2009 Dine Packages Available in August

that is going to be a tough decision for me just because I love to eat while at Disney but then again I have gained so much weight :rotfl2: it might be easier from me to do the cs.

I am so excited about the Quick Dine option :woohoo:

We are doing the DDP this Sept for the first time cause I loved the idea of having our meals pre-paid for. And wanted to finally try out some TS places. This is splurging for us considering we usually eat a quick breakfast at our campsite/hotel room, pack lunch and eat 1 cs dinner. (I know, we are cheap, but we go to often not to be :)).

But with the QD option, I would definitely go for it so I don't have to worry about lugging our lunch around all day. The little extra cost for another table service is worth the convenience for me. :thumbsup2

Thanks DisneyDine for the info :goodvibes

OP, thanks for posting and keeping us informed. I hope we are able to add the new dining plan to our AP rooms (without ticket option) like we can do this year. I see this as a good perk for our shorter stays before moving to our DVC resort.

Anyone know what the Platinum and Premium packages are? Never heard of those....

THANKS!

These are more inclusive dining and recreation packages. Some of the the highlights - all meals are 1 credit (there is no distinction for signature/crt/dinner shows/room service), more restaurants participate than DDP or DxDDP (Rainforest Cafe for example), unlimited recreation (watersports, golf), most of the tours are also included (plat has a few more available than prem) and cirque tickets.

Since we just bought DVC, I will miss these packages. Unless of course they open them up as addons like they have done with DDP and DxDDP for DVC members.

I just read this online. It sounds ok for those who don't use sitdown meal, however does this mean they are doing away with table service as part of the meal plan?

Walt Disney World also is announcing some changes in its Magic Your Way plan, to include Quick Service Dining beginning Jan. 11. Vacationers can get two quick-service meals and two snacks for each night of their stay in a Disney resort hotel, plus a refillable drink mug for unlimited refills of non-alcoholic beverages at Disney resort hotels.

Actually this sounds like a third level of meal plan..

Quick Service Dining
Basic Dining
Deluxe Dining

We'll know for sure in a few days.

I think that the key words in the article are the "to include" it certainly makes it sound like an addition to what is already being offered.
I would love that option, especially when I travel solo, or even with a group that does not care to take the time to eat at the table service restaurants.

If this is the case, I think it's a good idea. I would just hate to not have a DDP with table service option. Part of the vacation for my family is the fun we have at the different table service meals.

if the changes for the U.S. are the same as for the U.K., there are no changes to the basic & deluxe (except the price up a little.) So the big change will be the additional choice of the counter service plan.

One thing I saw elsewhere was speculation that next year's Free Dining promotion, if it again offered, will be the Counter Service option for free; you could then pay to upgrade to Basic or Deluxe...food for thought!:)

This was exactly my thought when I seen the new offer...but I sure hope not!

I wonder how much they will charge for it????

Does anyone know what they charge now for an adult on the reg dining plan?I have booked it in the past but we just lumped it into one "large" sum....

Hmmm - I just clicked on that link but it didn't say anything about the dining plan

I don't see the info at that link either. There is another thread that was begun yesterday by a Disney Dining Cm that has more info on this, titled 2009 packages available in Aug., or something like that, if anyone is looking for more info.
On another note, the link provided is now showing retheming of rooms at CBR to fit in with a Pirates of the Caribbean motif. That is freakin awesome!!!! :thumbsup2

How crazy :confused3 It was in the article about CBR. It has been edited:confused3 Wonder if they did not have the right to post about it until Disney had released the information?

The whole article isn't about the new dining option. It's the next to the last paragraph in that article. ;)

And I bet you money that's what Free Dining will be. Works for me. It'll free up some ADRs.

Hmm, that was not there a few minutes ago - that paragraph has been added since I read it. Apparently, since Crazy4Disney06 saw it and then said it was changed when she read it again, it must have been changed back. :confused3 Weird......

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that beginning January 11 2009 , Disney will introduce a new Counter Service Dining Plan, which will give guests two quick-service meals and two snacks for each night of their stay in a Disney resort hotel, plus a refillable drink mug for unlimited refills of non-alcoholic beverages at Disney resort hotels.

Thanks so much DisneyDine!! I'm so glad that the Basic Plan will still be under $40. I can't wait to book our package!! :thumbsup2
