2008 DVC Member Cruise Announced!

They announced the 2008 Member Cruise today. Sailing will be September 21st 2008. Another 4 day cruise on the Wonder. Booking day is November 17th I believe.

Some will already be booked by that day as anyone who adds on 250 points on this cruise gets a Cat 6 for 2 adults on the cruise and gets to wear a lanyard that says I'm booked 2008. We'll have to book the old fashioned way.

Hi, I'm new this year to DVC..

Just have some questions,

Can you pay cash to go on the members cruise? instead of points?
How does that work, is it just like paying through DCL deposit and than due 90 days before trip?
Is it the same price as a trip through DCL??

also what different about the members cruise than the non-members cruise? I know obvioulsy its all members but is the entertainment the same?

Member Services will have prices available for DVC Members who wish to book using cash. At least they have in the past. The payment is due in full upon booking, however. The $75 booking fee has been waived in the past also for DVC Members Cruise so we will have to wait and see the parameters set for next year's cruise.

The Members Cruise will not be a hugely discounted cruise. In fact, you may find other DCL 4 day cruises at much lower prices. But, it will have perks such as DVC specific gifts left in your staterooms, special guest speakers, etc.

Exactly what does this mean? If you buy 250 points you get to go for free or just a cat upgrade? Never been on a member cruise.

If you add on 250 points you have a full paid for and confirmed reservation for 2 adults on next years cruise. They are given hats that say they are booked as well as a special lanyard plaque (which is huge) that says they have booked. I know of two DISers who have already done the add one.
