2008 Disneyland Half - Who's Going?

I printed my waiver but did not get a number. What am I missing? How do I get it?

Thanks, I found it. Apparently my excitement for the race was interfering with my ability to read :rotfl2:

...anyway, I'm # 7396. I can't wait :woohoo: my DH is # 12,565

Based on the numbers, do you think we will be in different corrals? I've never done a race this big and am not sure how it works.

Did anyone check the box "walker" on the race app? What number did you get?

I registered us as "runners" because I ambitiously thought we'd be doing intervals, but that probably isn't going to happen. We are 7949 and 7950. We registered March 10th.

I put myself down as a walker on the registration and also used my time from the ING Miami Half of 3hours 10min. I am number #7981. I registered 3/23/08.
Yeah Pat, we're in the 7,000's!!!
Not sure if I'm liking the fact that we don't go into the stadium. Looks like from the time you leave DL to when you come back (which is more than 50% of the miles) it is kinda boring. I hoep they have some good entertainment along the way!!!

Started a bib# list for those that are interested.

Ya Tracy, I am majorly bummed about not going through Angels Stadium, it was definitely one of the highlights in 2006. We missed getting a picture of ourselves on the jumbotron, so planned to make up for in this time. Darn!! A huge part of the course is through the industrial area, at least in WDW those stretches of road are familiar and I can think of the many bus trips back and forth along them and think that not many people get to walk them. But in DL those roads are just roads, with no Disney associated memories. In 2006 there were a few entertainment sites along the way, including the scantily clad male Hawaiian dancers. The stretch heading into the Angels Stadium is where the drag racing scene between Danny and that bad dude took place. Unfortunately it looked nothing like it did in the movie, and if I hadn't read about it here on WISH I would have never known that was what it was. Hopefully that special bonus medal DH is shooting for will make this trip worthwhile.

My girls have been spending the money they've earned as lifeguards (their summer job) shopping the sale racks all week buying what they call their "California clothes." I told them to save some of that money for DL souvenirs. I can hardly wait for them to see DL and the room at Paradise Pier and downtown Disney...

Wendy, did you know there is a Disney outlet about 10 minutes drive away in Fullerton. The sell some of the not so popular park merchandise. Not seconds, but overstocks. We love shopping there every trip!

Let me know if you want directions.

Do you have a car?

Pat,

We timed it right to see Hula GIRLS!!!

Aloha Jeff -- Loved the photos. I have a decent photo from the inaugural year of myself in the stadium and outside with the bottom of the big A in the background. Like everyone else, I'm disappointed we don't get to go inside anymore.

Wendy,

Here's my favorite warning track photo. If I could only photoshop out the guy behind me.

Did you know during the first year, a guy proposed to his girlfriend on the warning track, near Third Base? I wonder if there was any hidden meaning to that? :rolleyes1 Anyways, I was looking through the Action Photo site, and saw a series of photos of they guy getting down on one knee, his girlfriend sort of laughing and in shock, while many runners ran by, thinking to themselves "get out of the way!" :lmao:

Another guy during the first year, finished, then waited just before the finish line waiting for his girlfriend with a "Will you marry me? sign" They posted it on Youtube.com

I'm lovin the barely dressed guys, hope their there again. I will need that to distract me. :lmao:

Wendy - Thanks so much for posting that picture! Looks like a very cool medal.

I did my 11 miles yesterday. Yay! Now I can start my taper :)

Good lord Racey Tracy, you are anxious! :lmao:

As of 8/5/08 25 days to the 5K and 26 days to the Half Marathon.

WISH TEAM: On both race days, do you want to meet up before and after the races at the "W" tent? Scream team at the finish line?

Throw out your ideas for all of us to hear  .
Do we need nametags to identify ourselves by screen siggy's?

Jim and I will definitely meet at the W tent after the 1/2. We will be at the back of the pack, so not much screamteaming for us.

Just three more weeks until I'm on a JetBlue Flight to California!!
