Swim-Mom: Oh, I think you underestimate how inspiring you are--and Kim, too. After all, you not only finished C25K, but you've come back from setbacks. And then you both put the training to the test with your 5K, in which you both had great times. Yep, pretty inspiring I'd say!
Of course, you're right about your bigger point--that everyone here is supportive & we should all applaud each other's journeys because we're all doing this great thing for ourselves.
Raenstoirm: You're another motivational person. Look at how dedicated you are, to keep on moving in spite of shin splints & now joint pain. I know you probably don't see it, but you are making progress--because you're listening to your body, you're moving (and 3.5 mph is faster than many people I know, let alone your 12 mph goal or run). I know you're doing things to make those joints stronger, to strengthen the supportive muscles, etc. I do think shoes will make a difference, too. You might just be like me, and need longer to adapt to running. I know it's easier for me to say this than it is for you to feel it, but you're not failing.
Allyson: I know exactly how you feel, as it wasn't that long ago that I thought I was going to DIE when running for that long.

It's so great you were able to complete it with DH as your sidekick, because that probably helped you get over the mental battle, which I believe is a big part of the challenge in the program. You're doing great! (P.S. And there are still days when I start running and think I'm going to DIE. Part of the sick challenge is figuring out if that's my body or my stay-in-bed-longer mind talking.)
Erika: 55 minutes and you're up & walking today, if a bit sore? Something to look forward to...I guess.

I find it fascinating that the more we run, the more we find we need to do other active things (stretching, strength training, etc.). It's nature's sneaky little plan to keep us healthy. If you don't like yoga--gasp, and your mom's an instructor?!--how about Pilates?
Caitsmama: Good luck on Week 7; I found that week very challenging, and thought it was the "hump" week of the program for some reason. I'm sure you'll do fine. P.S. I feel I should know your name from the team threads. Sorry, it escapes me at the moment.
As for me: Strength training & some walking today. Geez, it was windy, so I'm glad I wasn't scheduled for a run. I added nearly a minute per mile to my walking pace!

In other news, just a couple more days here, then I'll be in WDW to celebrate my 40th b-day.

I'm only planning on one run while I'm there, but if the weather is nice....
