Happy Wednesday! Double walking post today!
Yesterday was a backwards day. DD had a game, so I went to the gym in the morning and devised a 6 mile route to the school. It wound up being 6.06 mi when I stopped my watch. Today was back to normal time with a 6.04 mile walk. I've been trying to keep myself right at 6 miles since I don't want to overdo it with these races coming up this weekend.
This morning's walk was pretty basic...aside from dodging a few raindrops and occasionally mistaking the flashing from my light up vest as lightning. The storms to my west fell apart while I was out there but we're expecting more later. But hey...one of the high school girls complimented the light up vest and I think I've finally figured out a way to crisscross the straps so it stays snug on my shoulders without being uncomfortable. I passed some ladies (that I see pretty regularly) and they wear these bright glow necklaces. They stand out, but I think I'll stick with my vest or my flashing red light.
Yesterday was at least in the daylight (although, it was 87 degrees and super humid). I grabbed a few shots as well as a short video down at one of the tributaries. It's kind of cool how the remaining standing water from the recent rains has cut a path and made its own little waterfall. Oh, and I saw the chickens again but they were a little too close for comfort, so I just powered on past them. Funny...I'm not spooked by snakes, but chickens give me some concern!

Obviously, not the most direct route to the school, but I needed the miles.
It was kids night!
Oh, I also got my new leggings that may wind up taking the place of the firefly ones for Saturday. DDs school colors are green, black and white and they're the Panthers (as you can kind of read on my shirt). So, I will have lots of opportunities for use outside of walks, but the green is more St. Patrick's Day than the other leggings.
I also made the executive decision that while I am not wearing any sparkly skirts/tutus, head decor, or necklaces...we need GLITTER! Lots of GLITTER!
