2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

Good Morning all, I actually got about 8 hours of sleep last night so I am awake early this morning. I've got my cup of coffee and my disboards and 3 out of 4 kids are still sleeping. Life this morning is really good. I hope everybody has a really nice Wednesday.(wait it is Wednesday, right? j/k)

Good morning,

8 hours, what is that????? Even on weekend I can't sleep in. My youngest works on the beach setting up chairs and umbrellas. So I have to get him up at 6. Sometimes he even gets a hot breakfast, not often:rolleyes1

I am addicted too, even when I didn't have a cruise planned I would check them out every day. It's hard not to. My husband thinks I am nuts, but he has enjoyed the people we have met. Especially last year when we went with out kids. It's nice to sit by the pool and chat with the folks next to you.

Have a great day.

Good morning everybody.
I am a newbie but looking forward to all the chat in the months to come!
I was excited to see on the grid that a few other dis families are close by to our stateroom! I hope to run into some of you on the trip!
Have a great day!
Jaime

We are arriving the day of the cruise - so no pre-meet for us. :(
Hopefully we'll be able to catch up at the 3pm meet onboard deck 10 on Sunday.
I was looking at the website at the previous cruises. Will you guys be linking dining again this year?

As far as I know no one has stepped up to offer to do that this year and the person who did it last year isn't sailing with us. There is still time if someone (or two people - one for early and one for late) want to do it.

If anyone does want to do it let me know and we'll add it to the webpage.

This is our first cruise ever! We will be sailing with our 2 DS ages 7 and 3 (will turn 4 on the boat). Any suggestions for an unforgettable birthday celebration?
Is anyone else sailing with kids around the ages of ours?
Is there anyone from Missouri planning to cruise with us?

Welcome to the DIS, the DCL forums and most especially to the Member Cruise Meet thread.

If you go to the first post in this thread you'll see a link to a website we are doing for the cruise. There you can meet your fellow cruises. We do have some families with young children coming with us. If you want to send us your info we'll be happy to add you and your family in as well.

As for a birthday celebration be sure that your Servers know and they will have a cake and a birthday button one night. You can also order a birthday room decoration direct from DCL. It should have been in the packet of information that came a month or so ago.

Just a reminder that you can do online check-in.

https://secure.disney.go.com/dcl/en_US/myCruise/landing?name=ReservationNotRetrievedPage

Doing it now will save you time at the port. Also a reminder for first time cruisers. For the credit card form you really only need to do it for one person in you party and just check the other members of your party as having charging privledges. Of course if you want to use separate ones you can.

Can you check in this early? two months away?

You sure can - I did it this morning! Just follow the directions on the website and print out your documents at the end. Then the only thing you will need to fill out by hand is the Bahama Immigration form.

Great....I will do that soon.

I was Curious how everyone is getting to the cruise and back.

We will be at Disney Friday and Saturday - then to the port on Sunday.
Then Thursday back to the port.

I don't want to take the Disney Transportation to the port because they won't even pick up until 10:30 and I am one of those "want to be there early"

So far it is cheaper to rent a car from budget - $50.00 for the two of us then to pay for transportation from a service --- which is anywhere from 65.00 or more.

Any good options out there? Or is there a group of disboarders sharing a van or anything??

Has anyone heard if there are any teen activities on CC?
My DD wanted to join the "Teen Wild side", but we did not see it in the onshore activities reservation page.
:hourglass (counting the days impatiently)

Amanda & I are renting a car. Depending on what size we get, we may be able to carpool with others. We haven't got there far with our ressies yet.

Is anyone else receiving this error when they try to fill out the online check-in form (the one in which you list your passport and emergency contact details)?

Sorry, there's been an error. Please review and correct the information as indicated below.
There are no longer cruises available based on your party size. (-45012)

Weird . . . :confused3

When I called DCL, the agent received the same error when she tried entering my passport number.

Good morning everyone!

Eeyore - I've never seen that message. The DCL rep wasn't able to help? I would call back and if they still have problems ask for a supervisor. Good luck!

We are driving down so will drive to the port from WDW. We'll then drive up to Hilton Head after the cruise.

Member Gallery Update!

I left off Frank (Pinocchio's) cabin number yesterday (he sent it I just missed it). :) So I've updated the gallery and the deck 7 deck plan with his family's info. Sorry about that Frank!

Good morning everyone.
It's a sunny bright morning in NJ and my son is whining so badly I won't even be able to stay on the boards for more than 2 minutes!! Good grief!!
Have a great day!

If there are others that want to go from WDW to the port and arrive early like 9:30...we might be interested in sharing a car or van / service. Last night I did some searching and one of the places that is recommended by allears.net (happylimo.com) has a van service for 10 ; that would be around 15 a person, and a larger one that carry's 28 that would be about the same.

Acourtwdw - I saw that you answered on renting a car....just thought I would wait for others.

Just thought I would throw this idea out there. We can also rent our own car - which I am still checking into.

Good morning all,

We will be at Saratoga Springs Saturday night. We will be driving to the port early Sunday and should have room for 2.

RB my kids did that a few years ago and loved it. they take them to spots no one else can get to.

Have a good Thursday.
Joanne
