2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

Hey Joannel - we might be interested in hooking up and sharing the ride (and cost). THere is just two of us.

I will need to see if anyone wants me to organize anything thru the happylimo.

I see you guys are on the same deck as us!!!!

you can pm me if you like.

Good morning all,

RB my kids did that a few years ago and loved it. they take them to spots no one else can get to.

Have a good Thursday.
Joanne

But do you know if it is available for this cruise?
It seems that most everything we wanted to do is already booked.
But we did get to reserve our floats (oooooohhhh! - sarcasm)

Just a random thought on why some of you weren't able to book things. In looking at old navigators it appears that both the teens wild side excursion and the Nature walk/kayak excursion started before 11 am.

Normally the ship gets into CC around 8:30 or 9:00 am, but last year on our first day we got in later because of things they had planned on the ship itself. I'm wondering if DVC is doing the same type of thing this year (either on the ship or on the island) and that isn't why they are offering some of these excursions.

I could be way off base but it is just a guess.

Sounds like a good guess to me, I'm sure if they have it, we could still book once we're on the ship.

While we are on our member cruise our teenage daughter will be staying home due to college and volleyball commitments. We have Sprint for our cell phone company and wanted to know if they would work while on the cruise. The other question is there an international calling card we could purchase to use on the ship?
This is our first cruise ever and have no experience with these type of issues. Any and all answers or suggestions would be highly welcomed.:thumbsup2

No cell towers so no service. You're pretty much out of luck - as one cast member told me - you can't stick a cell tower in the middle of the ocean! I read in a recent mailing that the Magic will be able to get cell service soon (if not already), but the Wonder which we're on is not up and running. Your cell phone will be useless once we leave port I think.
As for calling cards, not sure where or if you can get them. I know you can make calls on the ship to land but $$$$$$$$$$$.

When I was talking with the DCL rep about my check-in issue (I've stumped 4 CMs now, including a supervisor), she said that the nature walk/kayak tour should be listed at least for the afternoon tour. Sure enough, I checked online and was able to book the 1:00-4:15 tour on Monday for DH.

Perhaps those who were interested might want to try again? I wonder if they're only offering the afternoon tour because of certain events on the ship?

Now back to figuring out why I can't check in  . . .

Hi everyone:

I just returned from WDW.

I attended the Member get together yesterday at Boardwalk at the Dance Hall. They played a great game like Jeopardy. Was loads of fun.

Today we went to the SUMMER ON THE SAVANNA. It is being held just outside Epcot at the International Gateway in the large open area. Decorations were great.

IF anyone is at Disney on Thursdays between now and August 23rd, you should go. Some great gifts being given out.

Just to let everyone know that a special lady will be on our cruise.

THE ORIGINAL MISS DVC - her name is

Dee Vee Cee

Those of you who know her I am sure will be happy. She is absolutely hilarious and keeps you laughing constantly.

It is hard for me to describe her. She's been with DVC from the beginning (I think) and her voice is like your fingernails scratching on a chalkboard. She does it extremely well and in very good taste.

You have to be around her to understand.

But seriously, she is fabulous.

She will definitely be in the terminal and supposedly she is going to be pushed onboard and she will be resisting them doing that. Should be fun to see it.

I took an immediate liking to her.

Here she is! First saw her at Member Homecoming. She was at the Bon Voyage party in 2005 and in the terminal last year. Not sure if I could stand her for a whole cruise but she is funny!

she looks a whole lot different right now. Her hair is still red and long and very, very curly - looks real good.

Well that was back from 2004. She definately makes an appearance that's for sure.

So did you find out any more tidbits of info on which legends are sailing with us?

There was no mention whatsoever about the MC - didn't mention how many member or anything on that line or nature.

It was mainly the game show of Jeopardy.

There were refreshments. The gifts that they are giving out now are the same ones they give on the cruises.. The cooler chair, towel and sunvisor for your car and the umbrella. A husband and wife won two of the big ones. Drew their names right after each other. Some people were pretty upset. But it is the luck of the draw really.

We got 15th anniverary hats.

they are pushing AK super big time.

We went over to OKW and saw the models for AK - and they looked great.

WEnt through a grand villa. That darn thing is larger than my house. :rotfl:

AT the Summer on the Savanna today they gave out a little pouch that opens up for a hat. It is really neat. I'm sure someone will have it on e-bay for sure. :rotfl:

bgsnmky---We would be interested in renting a 10 passenger van/limo with you. It is just my DH and I and we still haven't figured out how we are getting to port yet. We are staying at BWV on Saturday night but want to get to port early too. Let me know if you are still thinking about this. I guess I wouldn't mind organizing something if there were enough people interested. Debi

Good morning everyone! Happy Friday!

Good morning everybody!
I loved reading the tidbits this morning about the MC07. So, is there a Jeopardy like game on the cruise ship too? krdisneybound - Is that what you are talking about when you say they have the same prizes as on the cruise ship? That sounds like a lot of fun!

Yes, sometimes they will have a game like jeopardy onboard.

There is one game they plan "On The Nose". It's where the whole audience participates - they put them in 3 sections. At the end one section wins and - afterwards get to go on stage with all the characters and gives everyone a mickey bar or crispy bar or something they might decide on.

Then there are meetings for members and non members for DVC - they try to sign you up or get already members to buy more points.

They give little gifts out then also. Most of them are really great gifts. Just not enough for everyone to get something.

I have been to two DVC meetings where everyone did get gifts - they had so many that day. Everyone went away happy.

Be careful what you wish for. On past cruises there have been gifts every day we are on board. Last year(?) there was a giant mickey mouse shaped hat box that contained more gifts. Make sure you pack an extra bag just for the gifts. But they are great:thumbsup2

Me too I love mickey stuff........We are driving so if any one has stuff they can't take home i will be more than happy to relieve you of it.:rolleyes1

Ok, I will give this a try. Any one who wants to link dining- Pm me your name, reservation number and if you are early or late. I am not promising anything, but I will give it a try. I will keep the list going and call them in September. If that's not too late. kay?

Have a great Friday!!!!
