2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

I know what you mean about a walk on the beach. My DD, g/daughter and I go to b/fast quite often down on the Pier at Lauderdale by the sea, about 5minutes from me, and after we eat, we just sit and watch and let the baby play in the sand. It is so very relaxing and fun.

No rain for us today, thank goodness. Got my DH home from the hospital finally and arranging for Hospice to start coming over to give me a break once in a while. Today around 1 pm my nurse is coming over to sit with him while I do a few errands and go to the grocery store. She is a big help to me right now.

Everyone have a great day

Hi all,

Just came from a walk on the beach. Trying to get in some extra exercise at night with my neighbor. But after an hour of step aerobics I am worn out. It's nice out and I hope it stays that way!!!

Have a great night!!!!

Glad to hear Harry is home. Take care of yourself Kay and let the nurse do the hard stuff! Don't want you sick too!

Oh yes, Linda - You should see the bottles of "hand santizer" in every room, all over the house. We use gloves also. I wipe the door handles, kitchen appliances, bathroom counters and other things twice a day. We are keeping those nasty germs away. Keeping the house cool helps also, so the germs won't grow.

You better get back to work, girlfriend !!! :rotfl2:

Kay,

I hope your DH feels better soon. Take it slow so you don't wear yourself out.

Have a great night!

just want to tell the latest.

Hospice started 24/7 crisis nurse care today. That is surely a blessing to me.

So there will be someone here all the time to care for Harry. My health was a big consideration.

The best part is that everything is totally covered by Medicare. I am so pleased about that.

and WOW, so much paper work.

I will be back later - the nurse told me to go get some rest. YEA

Good morning Member Cruisers!
36347SS2007.gif
We sail in 31 weeks!

I have a question. Will we be Castaway Cay members after we take the cruise? Or does the member cruise not really count?

This raises a question. On our first cruise with DCL, we made ressies through DVC, and after our cruise (in 2005) we have not yet heard about being in the Castaway Club. The DCL told us in early 2006 that we should have received information soon., but we forgot all about it. When we made ressies for this years member cruise I asked a guide about it, and was told that we should have been automatically in it after our 1st cruise, and she would try to fix the problem. That was in December, and we still have not heard back.
Has anyone else been excluded?

I called to get my cards again because I can't seem to find ours and they informed me that they are in the process of changing all the Castaway Cards/kits and they will be sending them out late spring/early summer. I can't wait to get mine and check it out. Good luck getting yours.

Do any of you know about being able to ride a train to Florida that you can also bring your car on the train with you? We will be traveling 8 deep on this cruise so airfare will be pretty costly for us so I was looking into alternative ways to get to FL from VA. Thanks for any input.

The Auto Train goes from Lorton VA and Sanford FL. Here is a link on it.

I know Cheryl has taken it before so hopefully she can see your question and fill in the details for you.

The Member Cruise still counts. I would call DCL directly and ask for your number. Then have them check to make sure it has been added to your reservation for this cruise. That way you'll be able to book Palo, excrusions etc. at the 90 day window and not have to wait for the 75 day window.

I checked it out and we have come to the conclusion that we are Flying into town and renting a van so we can get around or maybe get a limo or something like that so we don't have to worry about renting/returning the van. Plus, the limo can just drop us off and the kids would love it.

I am trying to add a picture and not doing it very well. I have it in photoshop ad can't get the link.

Any way. Good morning all and have a nice day.

You need to upload it someplace such as our own Dis PhotoPost.

Save it to someplace on your computer from photoshop.

Then go to:http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/

Just click login and use your Dis login then upload.

Once you have it uploaded, right click on it and pick properties, there will be a http: link there for you.

Highlight it by dragging the cursor across it, making sure you get the whole link, right click/copy then go to post here and right click/paste it when asked for a link :)

There were 1 files which exceeded limits which do not appear in this list:
pats_graduation_075.jpg (exceeds filesize limit).
Either remove files to make more room or reduce the size of the files you are uploading and then try again

I am trying to get one in and this error message.

You can also upload your pics to Photobucket - it is a free hosting site

Really easy to use.

Maybe this will help you also.

For everyone who wants to learn how to post pics, I decided, instead of sending out PMs every time, to just post the instructions here.

1) You can upload your photos to a photo hosting site. I use www.photobucket.com. Any site like this will do. It's a photo hosting site. At the top of the page it says "Welcome to Photobucket", and you click there to register to use the site (it's free).

2) Once you log in, you can upload the photos. You do so by clicking on the link on the left hand side.

3) Leave the top dropdown box as is.

4) Go to image file #1. Click on "browse".

5) This opens up a box where you can browse the files saved onto your computer. You'll need to know where you saved the images to on your computer. I'd recommend somewhere easy so you can remember it.

6) When you found the file, doubleclick on it. This will close the box and send you back to the "image file #1" page on photobucket.com.

7) Click upload! Don't mess with anything; the icon in the upper right hand corner will show the page is working to upload.

8) When the file has uploaded, the page will refresh and show the picture has uploaded.

9) Copy the Filename web address starting with the "http" and ending with the "jpg".

10) Open a SECOND browser window (open up Netscape or Internet Explorer or whatever you use to surf the web).

11) Log onto the thread. Get to the page where you post your reply.

12) Paste the link you copied into the text box.

13) Repeat this process for all the images you want to post links to.

14) It's best, IMHO, to post the link to the webpage so that it doesn't take forever for the thread to load and your post isn't humongus.

Is this clear? Hope this helps!

You probably need to reduce the size of the image in photoshop before uploading it. I have no familiarity with photoshop, but look for something that will resize it where it specifies 'resolution' in pixels and set it for something along the lines of 640 on the higher number then save it with a new filename just to use to upload it so you don't overwrite the original on your computer.
