What I meant was, you need to resize the picture before you go to the Disboards site. You're probably better off with Photobucket, it fixes those things automatically.

Great pic, glad you got it. :)

For those of you who have been on the Member cruises before, is the ship usually full? I know that we are all paid in full but do people not show up? What is the possibility of getting an upgrade? Thanks for letting me know.

In the past the ship has been pretty full and I've never heard of anyone getting an upgrade but that doesn't mean it wouldn't happen. One thing that is different is that the Member Cruises usually have less children. This is really good for those of you with children because the pools will be less crowded as will the clubs.

This was most evident on our first Member Cruise. We had late seating that cruise and our seating was only about 1/2 full. That's because while all the cabins were booked most of them only had 2 adults in them instead of families of 4.

Well guys, I hope every one is doing well. I have to go to Gulf Shores for two days. I will talk to you this week end.

Have a great day.

Hi.... My wife and I are booked on the 2007 Member Cruise. We are have reservations for Friday and Saturday at Vero Beach and were wondering if we can rent a car at the Orlando airport and then drop it off at Port Caneveral. We would then take the Disney bus back to DVC for a week.

Is this a realistic and viable idea? We would enjoy the drive down from Orlando and would have the availability of the car when we were in Vero.

Anyone sle do this?

Is it cost-prohibitive to drop a car off at a different location than where we rented it?

Thanks to anyone with an opinion......

Mary, thanks for the info.
Yuppie, sound good to me since we will be traveling with our 4 kids. I am just a bit bummed because we have always had a verandah but this time we just didn't want to spend that much so we opted for an inside room. Oh, well can't complain at least we will be onboard.

The rental agencies down there are used to this and people do it all the time. We've done it a couple of times with Avis.

In December 2004 we spent a night at Vero before our cruise. It is a nice easy drive to the port from there.

What we've done with great success is that we drive to the port and Mark drops me and the luggage off. Then he drives back to drop off the car and take the shuttle back to the ship. We've done this twice now and it has worked great. One of the times I was even able to check him in before he got back. The other time he got back before they let us in.

Sounds like a fun plan.

On our first Member Cruise we went for a Cat 8 since we didn't have enough points for anything else. Worked out fine. We just found we spent more time in other parts of the ship. We spent a couple of hours down on deck 4 in those comfy deck chairs.

That's exactly what we do also. We get a car at Orlando, Robert drops us off with the luggage, then he goes and checks in the car and takes the free shuttle back to the port.

We do the same thing (opposite way of course) when we return and then check the car in at the airport. It is cheaper than paying the daily fee at the port to keep the car parked there!

We sometimes use Avis. Have also used Hertz and National (but with National it is all the way to Cocoa Beach).

I made our reservations this morning for Beach club for the weekend of the cruise. All rooms sizes were available for Friday and Saturday nights. We took a studio for both nights. I'm so jazzed.

Ashley and Karen:

WOW - 3 weeks already - time sure flys by. Before you know it, we'll be cruising in October. Hope your trip home was a comfortable one.

Go back a few posts and see the pic that Linda posted of us at Rainforest Cafe - maybe you did already
