I can whip out the CC at 3am and not have to worry about stores not open or a screaming baby or lines or crowds or frazzled salespeople or anything. :teeth:

My favorite is when the crying baby makes the salespeople even more frazzled!!! I just laugh at everything now, and I've come up with a snarky comment for just about everyone who even tries to pass some sort of comment to me about my kids. Give it time, as Ian gets older, you too will find humor in temper tantrums! NOTHING stops me from shopping!! :rotfl:

SSMC05 cruises may remember this story, but it's a funny one so I'll share again. The only person who has said something to me who made me truly speechless was a lady last year in Walmart. Emma was probably 14-15 months and Julia couldn't have been more than 2 months old. I had them in the shopping cart, rushing through the store and this older woman stopped me and said, oh what beautiful daughters you have. Thanks. She goes--they obviously have differently fathers, and that one, pointing to Emma, her father MUST be Asian. :earseek: I definitely attract the crazies. My girls do look different, but Bruce the Shark is definitely their dad!!

The other side of the coin is you'd be amazed how many people ask me if they are twins. :confused3

Oy! The nerve of some people.

I have people telling me all the time that Ian looks just like his father, to which I respond "That prooves he's not the milkman's or the postman's." To be honest though, the day Ian was born I thought he looked just like David but ever since then I haven't seen it at all. I guess I see Ian for himself.

BTW Diana, your daughters are gorgeous. I can't wait to meet them. ::yes:: And I'm sure Ian will do his usual, flirting with the pretty girls.

Thanks. Fortunately enough for them, neither look like me! :rotfl2:

In looking for the disneyshopping.com 20% off code for poor Julie who was at work without her Vacation Magic, I learned that today they have free shipping when you spend $50!! AND they have a ton of their holiday stuff on super duper sale!! It was almost hard to pick $50 worth of cheap ornaments....but I did it!!

If you are at work and need the code, just pm me! ;)

Good morning all. It's sooo cold here - okay not as cold as up north or east. But for Dallas this is just rediculous. I'll say it now and probably repeat it many times during the winter, "I HATE COLD WEATHER!!!!" Okay, now that that's off my chest...

Have a great time on your trip Mary & Mark and Cheryl & Todd. BTW, the weatherman told me the snow will hold off until 5:20 in your area. ;)

Holiday shopping - I hate going into malls this time of year, especially with a baby now. So I'm doing my shopping on the computer this year. Anything I buy will be shipped directly. I'll only have a few small packages this year that I'll have to stand in the post office line to send. That's almost scarier than the malls anyway. It took me a while to warm up to the idea of shopping over the internet, but now I love it. I can whip out the CC at 3am and not have to worry about stores not open or a screaming baby or lines or crowds or frazzled salespeople or anything. :teeth:
I know what you mean about shopping online. I've done some of it this year, and I'm also doing some handmade gifts too. However, I think that the handmade ones are the scarier ones, because I'm still not done yet. :earseek:

I used to get that all the time with Emily. I was shopping at Publix and the cashier said, "oh, she must look like her father, because she doesn't look like you". Sure, everyone knows that Emily looks like her dad, but some stranger doesn't need to say anything. Luckily, Madison looks like me.

We just got a new weather update here. 4 to 8 inches tonight. I bet we get about 1 inches. We will see.

Everyone thinks my girls are twins even though they are 2 years apart. I can't believe the things that actually comes out of strangers mouths. People really need to think first.

I still think Ian looks a lot like me... Actually, RRBB had a game a while back... these are Mine and her baby pictures... can you tell which is which? Ian looks like both of us...

I actually enjoy a gift card! My parents discovered that since my birthday is in Nov and my sister's is in Jan due to the sales they could spend the same amount of money on us and get Amy 2x as many gifts. Plus, flying home means no heavy gifts - which this year is a bummer since I think Santa would have ordered that Mickey Wall Mirror that is now out of stock.

Julie, I like gift cards too. No hard feelings there when I receive them (just in case anyone from here wants to send one my way). I also don't mind appliances for holidays/birthdays. I'm a very practical person in that way.

Cindy - sorry about the nightmares! :goodvibes

Again, I need to live closer so my future children can be in your daycare - who else's day care takes the kids to see Santa, to the Zoo, etc. WOW! Oh and I love McDonalds!

We survived our Santa visit. It was actually really neat. The youngest 1 year old (14 months) was the bravest of the 1 year olds. Didn't cry a tear....in fact, he was all smiles. The middle youngest one (almost 18 months) stiffened up her legs and wouldn't walk towards Santa. I had one of the 5 year olds hold her for the picture, she fought him most of the time. The oldest (23 months) hide behind the presents they have decorating the area. I picked him up so that Walker could hold him. This little guy just kept giving Santa the "evil eye".

The lady who takes the pictures remembered us from past visits -- how many other people travel in a large group of kids to see the Easter Bunny and Santa. This year, they added a toy train ride next to Santa. $1.50 per child. But, being we were repeat customers, she "arranged" it for the kids to have a free ride. A very nice gesture on her part. The kids loved it.

But their cheapest form of entertainment was throwing $.10 each into the fountain. Even the little kids loved the idea and kept coming back for more.

They have added new play areas for the shopper kids so we hit that afterwards. Another highlight.

And, of course, McDonald's. That was my threat for today....if your not good, I'm going to make you a PB&J sandwich at home and not buy you McDonald's today. Needless to say, they all cooperated. :teeth: :rotfl2:

Hey guys - can someone help me out and PM me the DVC December DisneyShopping.com code? I think I am placing another order today!

Thanks Diana for pming me the code!

And, how long did it take you to apply it. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I'm not laughing at you, Julie, I'm laughing at myself. Diana also sent me the code today so I could do some shopping while the kids napped. It only took me an hour and a phone call to find out about that "apply" button next to where the code is entered.

But, finally, all is well. :flower:

Robin, did you know you can buy postage online using Paypal and apply the postage to your package. Go to USPS.com and arrange for a carrier pickup. Beats standing in line at the PO anyday!!

Good morning all... Soo much to say, sooo little time...

Chris, PD and hugs. It is a scary thought, but the rewards are great. Good luck with your son...

Mary and everyone going to DL, have a great trip and think of us often. I am sure that we will keep it down to 50 or 0 pages by the time you get back!!!

Diana, WOW that is really kewel...I am treadurer for our HOA, Nobody else wants the job, so I guess I can't be fired. It may be the same for you...

Jeff, Thanks, we got the package... now just need the time to watch it!!!!

Oh, I must amend my post about Gift Cards... I usually give all of the people who work for my company a small gift ($5-$10) and a note. It is qhite expensive and time consuming. This year we have a baby, so there is no Elf available for gift-wrapping. I am giving B&N gift cards to the peope at work... As far as IAN goes, well, he will get plent of gifts on both of his birthdays...That is right, he has a Secular and Hebrew birthday. He was born on the 5th night of Chanukah, so he will get something spwcial on that night, and he will get a party on the day before his birthday...and a nice gift on 12/12.

Oh, our house is farly sturdy and we don't need any new walls:scratchin...(think about it and it wll come to you). But seriously, the walmart near us is horrible. there are several in Dallas area, ours looks and feels like a prison.
I downloaded the cruise ship desktop item from DCL... Very relaxing...

See you all later...

:jumping2:
Thank you!

David, nice touch with the gift cards for employees.

And, I enjoy hearing about the different traditions for Ians birthday celebrations. I didn't realize that there are different cultures. I'd love to hear more about your faith when you have time to share it.

Me neither. It never fails, when we are out as a group, I always get asking if the kids are "all mine". Keep in mind, there are 7 of them ranging in age from 1 - 5. Is it even possible to birth 7 children in that short timeframe without any of them being twins? I've never sat down to think about it, but if they were all mine, I'd have no money to be walking around the mall shopping.

One of these days, I'm just going to smile and say "why, yes, thanks for asking". :teeth: :teeth: :rotfl2:

No offense David. I think it's easy to forget that some of us have been posting together for a long time....since way before the SSMC05. We''re getting to know the new posters along with continuing on where we left off with the posters from the other thread. Please bear with us if we don't always remember to share the inside jokes. I've tried, I've seen others try.

We will all get to know each other much better in the coming months. That's the fun of planning and what will keep us all sane waiting for this cruise. We are all going to become friends, yet, it takes time for friendships to develop.
