Probably only about an inch right now. I snowed over the weekend here -- Saturday night.

I thought our weatherman said our snow should start in the late afternoon/early evening. It's always a second guess - if they say 4-6", we usually get 1", if they say we should be spared from the storm we get dumped on!

We don't do gift cards for Christmas. We tried that one year, and my little brother got all bent out of shape. He said that it wasn't Christmas if you didn't get to actually open presents. He said that there was no satisfaction in knowing you had to go shopping. So, we give presents for Christmas. But, I have to say that it's getting harder and harder each year to find stuff. Now, he is ok to give gift cards for birthdays, just not Christmas.

I actually enjoy a gift card! My parents discovered that since my birthday is in Nov and my sister's is in Jan due to the sales they could spend the same amount of money on us and get Amy 2x as many gifts. Plus, flying home means no heavy gifts - which this year is a bummer since I think Santa would have ordered that Mickey Wall Mirror that is now out of stock.

Hopefully the snow will stay away. We're off to see Santa at the mall this morning. I'm betting all 3 of my 1 year olds scream their heads off when they have to sit on Santa's lap for the picture. Yep, I'm really mean and they have to sit there for a second to have their picture taken. But I always tell the person taking it to just take it, because I know they aren't going to stop. Then it's off to the fountain the throw pennies in. Another big highlight of the morning.

And, then I'll finish all my Christmas shopping since I'll be at the mall anyway. NOT!! With 7 kids, there is NO way I even think of going into a store. We leave early and hit McDonald's for lunch. Much better idea than shopping with them all.

Cindy - sorry about the nightmares!

Again, I need to live closer so my future children can be in your daycare - who else's day care takes the kids to see Santa, to the Zoo, etc. WOW! Oh and I love McDonalds!

The snow will start at 5:20 pm... except it sleeted and iced here yesterday in TX so we are FREEZING our little patoties off now and my driveway is iced over. Not so great when all they have is SAND to throw on it.

I went to bed with the weatherman saying 2-4 inches of snow.Now it's up to 4-8 inches! I wish they would come close to the right amount soon.I need to make plans if my kids are going to be home.

We do have the same weatherman and I never know what to believe. My kids would love to have a snow day but we hardly ever have one here because the dpw works way to hard and gets the roads cleared off.

Curt just be happy you have desk duty today. It is way to cold to go outside.

Mark, Mary, Cheryl and Todd have a great trip. Think of us while we are freezing here. The snow will start at 5:20. You will have a great time.

Cindy that is one strange nighmare. I think mine would have been taking 7 kids to see santa and Mcdonalds. Have a great day. You are such an amazing person to do that.

Good morning all. It's sooo cold here - okay not as cold as up north or east. But for Dallas this is just rediculous. I'll say it now and probably repeat it many times during the winter, "I HATE COLD WEATHER!!!!" Okay, now that that's off my chest...

Have a great time on your trip Mary & Mark and Cheryl & Todd. BTW, the weatherman told me the snow will hold off until 5:20 in your area.

Holiday shopping - I hate going into malls this time of year, especially with a baby now. So I'm doing my shopping on the computer this year. Anything I buy will be shipped directly. I'll only have a few small packages this year that I'll have to stand in the post office line to send. That's almost scarier than the malls anyway. It took me a while to warm up to the idea of shopping over the internet, but now I love it. I can whip out the CC at 3am and not have to worry about stores not open or a screaming baby or lines or crowds or frazzled salespeople or anything.

Oh, I must amend my post about Gift Cards... I usually give all of the people who work for my company a small gift ($5-$10) and a note. It is qhite expensive and time consuming. This year we have a baby, so there is no Elf available for gift-wrapping. I am giving B&N gift cards to the peope at work... As far as IAN goes, well, he will get plent of gifts on both of his birthdays...That is right, he has a Secular and Hebrew birthday. He was born on the 5th night of Chanukah, so he will get something spwcial on that night, and he will get a party on the day before his birthday...and a nice gift on 12/12.

Oh, our house is farly sturdy and we don't need any new walls...(think about it and it wll come to you). But seriously, the walmart near us is horrible. there are several in Dallas area, ours looks and feels like a prison.
I downloaded the cruise ship desktop item from DCL... Very relaxing...
