We have a 3night for Wish Ship booked next month. at my 33day mark I had a BG of 11.

We decided to add on DCL transportation and a pre-night at a moderate resort. Upon checking, we got our BG moved up to 5.
However when we sailed Wish 2 yrs ago, and stayed at Pop Century with DCL Transport, we were lower number. .

I did some reading and DCL transport is usually BG 2? Is this still the case, and normal for Wish sailings? If so I may call DCL back and ask to move my BG if possible.

The real goal for getting on ship early was to be 1st to get into dining change room to grab Palo brunch, and of course getting as much out of the short 3nighter we can.

I think boarding groups 1-3 are concierge, pearl and platinum? Then 4-6 are DCL transportation. You won’t be considerably behind BG 4, maybe 5 minutes.

Used disney transport a number of times and never had BG 2. Maybe if you are stay some uber suite level at Grand Floridian? As I have noticed it is tiered. Stayed at value and got BG 6/7, stayed at AKL and got BG 4.

It is possible that Disney buses are now staggered so that some arrive later than others. I agree that the difference in actual boarding time between groups 3, 4, and 5 will be negligible.

We used DCL transportation from the Hyatt MCO this past May and had boarding group 3, presumably because it’s closer to the port than WDW. We still had to wait in the terminal a while (30 min, maybe?) till the Family of the Day was announced before any of the groups were called. But everything went swiftly after that; I think BG 3 and 4 were even called at the same time.

Current system-

Concierge- BG 1
Pearl- BG 2
MCO\ MCO Hyatt- BG 3
Deluxe WDW Resort- BG 4
Moderate WDW Resort- BG 5
Value WDW Resort- BG 6

Also please add your experience to the PAT and BG thread but DCL is not going to change your BG because you request it. Could you imagine all the requests they would get if that was something they offered?

Keep in mind b2b cruisers are on even before concierge boards and for short Wish sailings there are normally quite a few. Fingers crossed you are able to grab a Palo brunch spot

We stayed at SSR 2 weeks ago and had 5. So who knows?

Waiting around an hour for boarding to start was not fun. There was also a loooooooooooooong gap between the family of the day and the boarding groups.

That’s really interesting- apologies if my information is incorrect. I have a friend who works for DCL transportation, and that was the information they gave me

Originally it was 6 and then when I went in to change something it changed to a 5. Although boarding was a hot mess that morning, the cast member handling the line management started letting BG 5 on before it was officially announced. There were just sooooooo many people in that terminal, and most people were already in a mood because the itinerary had shifted to a western due to Erin.

1 is concierge
2 is pearl/platinum
3-6 are DCL hotel transfers, but I don't think there's a way to guarantee one of them, It depends on the order DCL decides to pick people up.

In our EBTA I think SSR, OKW and AKL were group 5 with the moderates while all other deluxe resorts were group 4. Group 3 was boy Hyatt and airport.

We were group 4 coming from BRV.
