I almost forgot. The coolest thing happened yesterday.
Our Kohl's dept store had a Kitchen Aid Stand mixer on sale for $169 (originally $249). Well Wednesday is Seniors day and they get an extra 15% off. Well I asked my Dad if he could pick it up for me (cough...cough...Dad gets the Senior Discount, cough...cough). Well they didn't have anymore of the mixers that were on sale so they substituted a better one for the same sale price. Well the one they substituted was originally $320, well with the sale price and the senior discount it came out to $154!!!!
Nick & I will be making plenty of cookies this weekend!!!

Very Cool! I love our Kitchen Aid Mixer!

Just checking in to let you all know that I arrived home safely - in all about 18 and 1/2 hrs driving time and the fog in the mountains was not a good sign - almost got run off the road by a trucker who seemed to forget that he just passed me and the rest of his truck should have passed me too before he came over into my lane. Just picture me on my horn and blasting it, cussing a bit, and going off onto the shoulder so he didn't take out the front bumper of my car! Ugh!!! Didn't need that but it did make me so mad I decided to get a motel room for the night before I drove much further.
Got home around 2:30 this afternoon and napped, unpacked the car and I'm heading back to bed for some much needed rest. Will try to go back a read about 10 pages tomorrow morning when I find my mind again.

Mary, I'm glad you made it home safely. Good thing you stopped and let the other crazies continue without you.

Thanks everyone for asking!

Walker is going back to school today. :thumbsup2 Yesterday was the first time I had to remind him several times that he couldn't jump around. And, it was milder weather and he wanted to play outside, but I couldn't let him do that either as riding his bike, playing on the playset & monkey bars, riding the scooter and general running around is still off limits.

So, Walker will go back to school today, have his holiday party and then be home for the next 2 weeks on winter break. party: Not a bad deal.

Good morning everyone! Feeling a bit better so I'm heading back to work today. Helps that it is casual day. Much easier to work in jeans and sweaters. Hopefully it won't be too crazy a day.

I'm glad your feeling better, Mary. pixiedust: that it continues!

For those going to the Great Wolf in February. Guess what happened yesterday? I was working on my timeoff for 2007 and flipped the calendar to February to find out that our kids are off of school 1/2 day on Thursday and all day Friday for conferences!! Gary & I have both taken Friday off and plan to leave for Sandusky early on Friday morning. We'll be there by early afternoon and hopefully make a day of using the waterparks.

I'm sure my kids will enjoy it more than a day in school ;)

I just can't believe we picked that weekend and it turns out the kids have off of school. With all the days they have missed so far this year, there is no way we could justify taking them out early but with them having the day off, we'll definately use it to our advantage!

I know Jeff asked about Cedar Point. Are will still planning the weekend of 7/13, even though it's the same weekend of the event Cheryl posted about? I don't remember exactly what it was called but it sounded like a huge Disney event.

That's awesome Stacy!!! You'll love your mixer!! It makes baking SO much easier. Which reminds me, I need to get all my supplies to start my Christmas baking.

Shucks. I missed this info. What's going on with Great Wolf?

Morning all! I really, really slept last night - sure did need it. Now today I will attempt the game of "catch up". Have to start wrapping gifts and get the house finished for Christopher's first Christmas.

Happy Birthday to anyone I missed while I was away in "my happy place."

Cindy - I'm happy to read that Walker is back in school and hopefully feeling alot better.

Mary - glad you're feeling better - be careful not to overdue.

Anyone else I missed, I hope all are well and busily getting ready to enjoy the holidays!

Off to paying bills and getting on with my day.

I'm going to do a quick catch up before another crazy day gets underway!

Cindy--glad Walker is feeling better! pixiedust:

Mary--sorry you were sick, but glad you're doing better!pixiedust:

Stacy--Awesome deal on the Mixer. I LOVE mine! Kohl's rocks!

Mary--Glad you made it home safe! :drive:

Robin--Ian's party looked like so much fun!! Happy Birthday Ian!! party:

Yesterday I left the house at 6:15 and made the trek into the city for a fun filled day of shopping adventures! I got some really cute ornaments at World of Disney, one being a smaller version of the Partners statue that was Bruce's wedding gift to me, so it has quite the special meaning. I also got a really cool 35th Anniversary ornament set with old ride posters on them. Really cute, I'll have to post a picture. So we hit all the big stores, Build a Bear, American Girl, Toys R Us, Hershey's, M+Ms and even caught TRL being broadcast on MTV!....it was so much fun.

I'm off to the gym now, then at 10 going to our moms club Christmas party. I have to get home and back 12 dozen cookies for a cookie swap tonight AND I volunteered to make a tie dye cheesecake too. I'm bringing a case of Twisted Tea as well, so you probably won't hear from me much tomorrow, which by the way at 8:30 we have to be at a Breakfast with Santa!! :faint:

Awesome news about the days off!! I think we are planning on leaving here Thursday some time and driving out to Ohio and staying in the town his parent's live (halfway between Cleveland and Columbus) Probably meeting them for breakfast, then spending a little more time with them on Friday morning before we head up to Sandusky. We'll make a plan for you to call me when you're about 2 hours away and I'll say--oh no, hurry, hurry, we have to leave to meet Cindy!!! :drive:

As for July, personally, I'm more into meeting with my friends than going to a convention with hundreds of people. So I'm sticking with the Cedar Point plan. Even though we were planning on heading to Hershey from Ohio, I'd still rather meet up with you guys there, because really, I only want to see my friends, not 400 Disney fans. Can you feel the love??

I'm really going to be late for the gym now!!

I thought I mentioned it to you at dinner. The group is going on what was a Kroger's promotion. Of course I mentioned it to you about 6 pm and you got back to your room when? Midnight? Easy enough to forget during that time.

Glad to hear Walker is back to school.

Mary how scary with the truck. Glad you weren't run over!

Diana - looks like a busy day and an interesting evening. Now let others have some of your twisted tea or you definitely won't be ready for a breakfast with Santa in the morning.

Cindy that's great about the school days working with your weekend trip. We will probably be there in the late afternoon, or before 5 PM.

Tomorrow my oldest dd is graduating from college so we are going up there for the day for the ceremony, dinner and then moving her stuff back home. She is continuing on with PA school in the fall. She has interviewed at schools in Arizona & Chicago and next month she has interviews at Duke and Univ of Florida. Want to guess where I hope she goes ;)

If anyone does go to Magic meets let me know. maybe we could sit together.
I have a convention in NY on the 15th and I convinced Todd to let us take the autotrain so we could go to the disney meet too.

Cheryl

Mary, Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Gail: Are you talking UCF or UF? All these colleges confuse me.

I think that Gail is talking about University of Florida in Gainsville.

We have LOTS of universities here in FL.

UF - University of Florida in Gainsville
UCF - University of Central Florida in Orlando
USF - University of South Florida in Tampa
FSU - Florida State University in Tallahassee
UM - University of Miami
UNF - University of North Florida in Jacksonville

And, I know that there are a bunch more too, but those are the bigger ones.

Which one is it that the OSU Buckeyes are going to beat on January 8th? :lmao:
