Yep, we did that last year and they turned out GREAT!! We ordered them on Wednesday night and they had them ready for us on Thursday morning before we debarked!!!

I'm hoping to bring my Mickey Ear Santa hats to CC and get a good picture of the girls on the beach for our Christmas cards this year.

What a great idea... especially for us Northern folks!!!

MaryJ - sending positive thoughts your way.

Steve - great news on the win for your granddaughter.

Karen - I have to agree with you on your sentiments about the Tigers - I feel they have brought baseball back to this state! They're winners no matter what happens. Dh wants to go down for some spring training next year.

Garfield - I share your sentiments with the Beatle song - sure will be nice to get some DVC stuff showing up at my door!

Off to get some more rest - tomorrow is another busy day.

Hi everyone. I'm still trying to catch up (I'm on page 1271) but wanted to post this now in case I don't get caught up by Thursday. I am went in for my yearly exam two weeks ago and got "squished." All you ladies, and probably most of the guys, know what I mean. Yesterday I got a call to come back in on Thursday for a follow up ultrasound. Apparently, all is not as it should be. I do have a family history of breast cancer (mom and sis) so this is a scary time for me. Your thoughts and prayers would be appreciated. :sad1:
Oh Mary - I will definitely say a prayer for you!!!

Teachers that job share!?
Ok that just seems odd to me. You would think it would confuse the kids. I mean they only work like 9 or 10 months out of the year so I don't get it.
No offence to any teachers out there.
I have some friends that are teachers that job share. It works out well for teachers that are also moms. One of my friends, job shares with her little sister in a 2nd grade class. It's becoming more and more popular.

Note to self - Ask Amy to borrow her Mickey ears to get an awesome picture for this years Christmas cards!!!
I'll bring all of them, but I have 3 Minnie ears and 1 Mickey. So, anyone that wants to borrow them, no problem.

I am hoping for just the opposite. Jessica would like to be moved up to the 8 year old group. She is 7 and turns 8 in May. She is used to being around kids older than she is and also wants to stay with Brooke. We'll see what happens.

Nick is in the same boat (hee hee hee). I think he would really enjoy the 8+ activities much better. I was going to see if I could try him in the older group.

We already have a mini meet idea percolating for either March 3,4 or 10,11 depending on the schedules of all concerned. Just an idea...

Lets go

How many of us brought the Santa Mickey ears last year and didn't even use them to take a picture?

I'm #1.....who else???

I'm thinking Julie did the same and Diana??
I wanted to do it last year, but when I went into the Christmas store, they actually didn't have any. So, when I did see them, I bought them last year, and didn't even put them away after Christmas was over. So, they are sitting in my garage on a shelf waiting for this cruise.

They were one of the things I wanted to bring but didn't have the time or ambition to crawl into the attic and dig through the boxes of Christmas gear to find them. I can't say that I have that ambition this year either---but if you bring them, can I borrow them? :lmao:

Lucky for me--Our family has 3 Minnies and 1 Mickey! :cool1:

At the rate we are going it wouldn't surprise me to see you all make it to 20,000 tomorrow. I bet while I am in one of my meetings :confused3

Regarding *My* Detroit Tigers:

For those that feel that the boys will go down meekly, without a fight ~

(That's for Chris... :teeth: )

Now, in all seriousness ~
Yes, I realize that we may not make it past the first round. I may be a fanatic, but I'm not a fool. But, you know what? I honestly don't care. I rooted for the Tigers when they lost 119 games in 2003, and I've rooted for them throughout their 95 wins this season. My team will ALWAYS be the Detroit Tigers - no matter what. This season has been a gift for those of us who never lost faith in them (all we were hoping for this season was .500 ball!!!). I have never been embarrassed to wear the Olde English D, but I have never been more proud. They are a wonderful group of guys - and I have had the distinct pleasure of meeting a number of them - who truly embody the spirit of this amazing game. No one can take this magical season from us - win or lose. We deserve to be one of the eight playoff teams. As Nate Robertson (tonight's starting pitcher) said in yesterday's press conference, "We'll walk out on the field with our heads held high, and we'll walk off the field with our heads held high".

Now, it's time to go follow my 163rd game of the season (not counting Spring training, of course... ).

Play Ball!!!

(And Go Tigers!!!)

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Go for it, Karen!! Actually, I feel the same way about the Chicago Cubs, and I don't even live there anymore. I will always be a Cubs fan, no matter what.

March 10-11 works better for us, since Chris has a big barbershop show on the 3rd.

Seeing as I am STILL getting the wrong mail (even with the USPS sticker on my mailbox telling the carriers to double check my mail) I fear that my giclee has ended up in someone else's box!!! :(

We had to put our beloved golden retriever down today. He was 15 and had developed multiple organ failure (or cancer) etiher way it would have cost about $700 just to diagnose the problem but at his age the outcome was inevitable. Thankfully he did not suffer and lived a great life but the pain of the loss is unbearable.

My boys are crushed (DH and the DS's) and I do not know how to cheer them up. I know the cruise will help but any ideas (any good movies out there I can take them to?) to help them through it would be great. This weekend is the Canadian Thanksgiving so we get an extra day to do things. I plan on doing a scrapbook page once the pain subsides--things are still too raw.

Pixie dust and prayers to Mary.
