Hi everyone. I'm still trying to catch up (I'm on page 1271) but wanted to post this now in case I don't get caught up by Thursday. I am went in for my yearly exam two weeks ago and got "squished." All you ladies, and probably most of the guys, know what I mean. Yesterday I got a call to come back in on Thursday for a follow up ultrasound. Apparently, all is not as it should be. I do have a family history of breast cancer (mom and sis) so this is a scary time for me. Your thoughts and prayers would be appreciated. :sad1:
Prayers and pixie dust comming your way!pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: I hope all comes out ok!:grouphug:

We had to put our beloved golden retriever down today. He was 15 and had developed multiple organ failure (or cancer) etiher way it would have cost about $700 just to diagnose the problem but at his age the outcome was inevitable. Thankfully he did not suffer and lived a great life but the pain of the loss is unbearable.

My boys are crushed (DH and the DS's) and I do not know how to cheer them up. I know the cruise will help but any ideas (any good movies out there I can take them to?) to help them through it would be great. This weekend is the Canadian Thanksgiving so we get an extra day to do things. I plan on doing a scrapbook page once the pain subsides--things are still too raw.

Pixie dust and prayers to Mary.

Jacqui

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.
Maybe if they help you with scrapbook page our maybe get one of those little wooden trinket boxes like they sell at the craft store and make a rememberance box they you can put his dog collar in and maybe a special toy and maybe decoupage a picture of the dog on the box.
Don't know if that helps or not.

Our daughter just called Coleen and told her some news.......................

She entered our granddaughter in a contest at Target (Ithink it was there) and she WON a Disney prize package. Disney Mp3 player, some cd's, a book and a carrying case for it all. She was very excited!

SQuid
Fantastic! I agree if you're gonna win something Disney or BaB is a good win.

I think she's lucky to have the advantage of getting to "pick" since she is close to either side.

Is that true the other way too? My DS turned 7 1/2 yesterday. Would he be allowed to choose to go with the 8+ year olds?
Also, what about the excursions, would he be able to do something that says 8 and up?

Chris

I think that normally they will let a child that is within 1 month of their birthday try out the older club. I'm not sure if they will let your 7.5 yr old, but it's worth asking.

As for excursions, I think that they are pretty strict about those ages.

Hey Julie.
I just read in the allearsnet.com newsletter that they are going to have new celebration button from Guest Services beginning Oct. 1st. They are supposed to have "Just Married" buttons!!!

I liked your idea of a friendly bet. We NYers can group together and share the booty when the Yanks win.

Let's see, what is Detroit famous for? I know! We can bet a bushel of apples against a brand new Ford Mustang :rotfl:

Oh - that sounds like a fair trade?!!?!?! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Congratulations Chatty Cathy

Congratulations to your grand daughter. What an awesome prize!!

We received the giclee today! Our mailman tried to stuff the package into our mailbox! He is just very lucky that he didn't ruin that box or I may have gone "postal"! You can mess with me but don't mess with my Disney!!

Still waiting on the cruise docs but at least a small piece of news from DVC is always nice!

I also ate waaaaay too much and felt it afterward. It is a cruel trick to starve all day and then have a feast. MUST...CONTROL...MYSELF! I always think gee what a great time to start a diet but it isn't because you are so hungry that the diet never holds up when faced with a buffet of food, lol.
Ah well.
I ended up just eating the peanut butter crackers and cookie that was provided for us on the way out. I was just too tired (and it was too late for Ian) to stop anywhere on the way home. I was starving by the time I woke up this morning!
