Good morning everyone! Had a great group in chat last night! Rainy here in Chicago this morning.

Please remember to fly your flags today and take a few minutes to remember 5 years ago. Prayers for all those effected by 9/11. Those killed that they and their families, but also those who are now suffering and ill from working on the site.

Rain and all, ours is up and flying.

Prayers for all!

We put ours up too on the front lawn... Stars on our doors. I even wore a Red White + Blue star jacket to work. I'm sad to say I saw no other flags flying on my way to work. Maybe it was just too early!

God Bless America!

Does anybody know what is the best kind of paint to use to paint kid's faces? we are having face painting at our Fall Festival Oct. 14, but not sure what is the best. Does Michael's sell it? Connie

Connie, when I did this when my Girl Scout troop for community activites, we always made our own. But being that Halloween is so close, I'm sure there's face paint all over out there. Just make sure it's water based so it come off easily!

Another good trick is and especially if you get a kind that come in tubes, would be to put the different colors in an ice cube tray as a pallette and use q-tips to apply it, that way, you always have all your colors right there at your fingertips and qtips are nice b/c you just toss them after each color/person and it's easiy to draw with them.

This years theme is Celebrating Magical Milestones so tell us about your first time at each of the following that apply (including how old you were, who you were with, where you stayed and best memory of that trip).

1. Disneyland
In March of 1978, I flew up to Ancorage, AK to be in my college roommate's wedding. On the way home, I took a flight to CA to visit my cousin, who took me to DL for the first time! I was overwhelmed. I do remember how crowded it was there (spring break). It's hard to remember any of the rides, but just being there was great!

2. Walt Disney World
In March of 1984, my Mom and I went to WDW (MK + EPCOT). What fun it was to share these first WDW memories together. We stayed off site in a friend's home and had to drive onto property. But, back then there really wasn't the traffic that there is now. I remember it was a LONG drive back home to NJ.

3. Disney Vacation Club (first stay as a member)
Our first DVC trip was 12/01/98, at Boardwalk, our home resort. I can still remember the excitement of walking through the front doors and checking in as a member. We had a standard view which was simply wonderful. We walked out onto the balcony and said, "Gee, we own a part of this!" We were meeting my folks and my sister and my nephew the next day for a stay at OKW. The whole trip was magical. Especially sharing the Christmas decorations with family. The BEST part was going to Olivia's for the character breakfast. Bandon, my nephew, LOVED Pooh. He was 3 1/2 on this trip. Well, we walked in Olivias. He saw Pooh, big as life, and said in his excited child voice, "POOH, I'm here!!!" We all had tears in our eyes!

4. Disney Cruise Line
DH + I got to take the Maiden Voyage, inaugural DCL cruise on the MAGIC, 08/01/98. There were a lot of mishaps, but it was so exciting to be there! The best memory was on Castaway Cay. We were in awe of the beach, and the beautiful warm crystal clear water.

5. Tokyo Disneyland
We haven't been here... yet!

6. Disneyland Paris
We haven't been here... yet!

7. Hong Kong Disneyland
We haven't been here... yet!

Ok, I'm back!!! I have almost 50 pages to read, so you guys are going to have to bear with me while I catch up!

I had a GREAT time in Phoenix, and have tons of scrapping projects to show you guys!! My body is still used to Phoenix time, so I'm going to try to get through some of these tonight!

Welcome home Amy!!

Ok, I'm all done now! I'm starting to get tired, and it's 2:30am (11:30pm Phoenix time). I know that I'll be tired tomorrow, but I figure that if I keep busy unpacking, then I'll just go to bed at a normal time tomorrow and hopefully I'll have tackled jet lag.

Night all!!!

Here's a TZ moment that didn't happen--my ex-h and I were booked on the maiden voyage of the Magic. Fortunately for me, the divorce was finalized before the ship sailed. :lmao:

Is it as cold everywhere else as it is here? I got up this morning and it was 52 degrees INSIDE the house!!! :cold: Apparently I left 3 of those little windows in the bay window open all night long. Mind you they were only open about 4 inches each. No way should it be this cold!!! I guess it could have been worse the outside thermometer read 43. :cold:

I'm off to the gym now, busy day ahead. Last week there weren't any classes which means I sat around letting the fat pile on. :sad2: Now I have to work twice as hard to get back into the groove. :sad2:

Welcome Home Amy! Can't wait to see all your creations!

Pretty cold here this morning too! The temp in the house is now a whopping 70 - and to think I was going to leave the windows open last night - good thing I didn't. I'm surprised it's getting this cool this fast - but then again next week it could be back in the 80's.

Nope. It's :sunny: and comfortable here right now. It's supposed to get up to 92 but feel like 99 this afternoon though.

Have fun at the gym Diana. If it weren't for having to wait around the house for contractors I'd check out the classes across the street. Boy I can't wait for this "project" to finish.

Okay, I have to go back 5 pages to catch up but I just found out some exciting news! Guess where DH and I will be in 4 weeks! GREECE!

DH received a FREE trip to Greece for a few days! He is checking to see if we can bring DD and how much it would cost. If not we will have a little getaway together with some other employees. Good thing I quit work!;)

Here is the hotel. Anyone know anything about Greece?

Ok, so I've been reading all about the CJs. They are SO much fun, and are good for even beginning scrapbookers!! Anyone in SSMC06 can join. We'll probably do sign-ups after SSMC06, and we'll start after the holidays.
Hmmm...think I might put scrapbooking items on my Christmas wish list!

How wonderful for you! :thumbsup2 Afraid I don't know much about Greece though. A co-worker of mine is in Italy now because her hubby won a trip at work. I'll look forward to hearing about both of your trips when you get back. Tough break though...having to take a cruise so soon after the Greece trip. ;)

Mary, I have a Creative Memories Consultant who keeps a wish list of items I'd like to have. When Christmas comes around, she has Gary's phone number as well as his email at work. Dianna just gives him a call and offers suggestions. She does this for a lot of people and all Gary has to do is give her a debit card number, and it's all taken care of. Dianna then wraps everything, boxes it up and mails it to the house.

It works great!!! :cool1:

Roxann, :cool1: for Greece. What an exciting opprotunity and best yet, is the lack of cost to you!!
