Morning. :surfweb:

It sounds like chat was fun. I missed both Friday and Sunday night. Maybe next week, although we are heading camping with the Boy Scouts next weekend. We'll see.

We had a really busy weekend around here -- getting ready for school, shopping for those last minute things for the kids, Gary's been working on the side of our yard digging a trench for the downspout and clearing the area so soon we can lay sod, weeding the garden (ours looks terrible this year  ), playdates, getting ready for my summer daycare kids to return today, etc., etc., :faint: :faint: I turned the TV on about 7:45 last night to pass the time and I was out before I knew it.

It's the changing of the guards around here. Not only are both of my kids off to school Wednesday, but my oldest daycare kids leave tomorrow leaving me with the next oldest being 2. I'll have 5 in diapers ranging from 5 months to 31 months. I stripped all the toys with little peices out of the daycare room and brought in new things from the garage. My goal is to have only single toys accessible to the little kids -- that way, there won't be a gazzillion things needing to be cleaned up every couple of minutes. Anything with many pieces is out of the reach. :thumbsup2 I'm sure it's going to be a time of transition to figure out just what exactly they find to use as balls in the house or what they don't play with. I'm always amazed at what they perceive as a ball even though it's not even close.

Final getting ready for school outing tonight as the boys have haircut appointments. Walker had another mohawk done at Disney that he now wants cut off. I'll be lucky if Cameron allows the hair stylist to cut any of his hair as he's into the long look right now. :rolleyes1 I hope he at least lets her cut it so it's not hanging in his eyes. :crazy2: This is definately one of those pick your battle situations so I'm keeping my mouth shut (hard to believe, isn't it? :rotfl2: ).

Have a great Monday, everyone!

:surfweb: Morning everyone,

Chat WAS fun last night and I was the SOLE SURVIVOR - darn no million bucks:sad2:. Oh well I'd just have to pay taxes on it anyway or I'd have the likes of Jeff and Stacy on me and get locked up like Richard Hatch:scared1:.

Happy monday all!!

Busy day again, but Ian's lunch is all packed for his first day of school tomorrow and he's in bed (though not sleeping yet.) Whew, finally a little break to sit at the computer. Guess I'll go check out chat for a bit...

Robin, you had to pack his lunch? Is he going to all day school? Maybe it's a TX thing, here in NY preschools are usually 2 1/2 hours and the kids can't start until they are completely potty trained. I guess it's a state health requirement b/c the teachers aren't allowed to change diapers. :confused3

yah-but you got to sleep in so you COULD be sole survivor!
:thumbsup2

Diana - Texas has a lot of montissori (sp) schools that start out from baby stage on up to through kindergarten. I know most of my office has their children in the one right near our office and it's a pack your lunch kind of place (UGH I can't do it for me, I think this is a Matt job) from day one. As the kids get older they have classes and are learning all the time - it's impressive ok and expensive too ;) but seems to be worth it.

Robin - not sure if that's the type of school Ian is giong to or not???

Oh we received our cafepress order and if anyone would like a PINK women's Large tshirt please let me know. I wear a large in everything for t shirts and this one is too big around and a bit in the neck (very disappointing) and I'd be happy to send it off to someone. I'm going to have to reorder a medium. Matt's Large may also be too big (again he always wears a large) so we'll let you know if we have 2 large shirts.

Feel free to PM me or post if you are looking for one, we love em, just want the right size.

Ian's at school as I type and it's so nice and quiet in the house right now. David and I dropped him off and he barely noticed we left. He found a phone to play with.

He's going to a private school at one of the temples, but NAEYC accredited. He'll be there 8:45-12:45 three days a week. They also have before school care and after school programs starting as early as 8am and going as late as 6pm for those that need it. And they can start going as young as 3 months old. It goes through kindergarten, but Ian will probably be at David's alma mater by then.

Ian's days are actually going to be quite structured:
8:45 - Good Morning/Get Settled In
9:00 - Free Choice/Art
10:00 - Circle Time (read books and such)
10:15 - Wash Hands/Snack
10:30 - Change Diapers (or as necessary throughout day)
11:00 - Outside Play
11:45 - Wash Hands/Lunch
12:30 - Get Ready to Go/Goodbye
12:45 - Parent Pick-up
And each day they have at least one other "class" to go to: Mondays - P.E. and Music Together, Wednesdays - Music, Fridays - Library & Art. Fridays they also have Shabbat service with the whole school and the Rabbis.

Okay, now to get some stuff done around here before it's time to go pick up a little munchkin. ;)

Emily's school is similar to NY too, then, because they are only allowed once they are potty-trained. They do start as early as 2 and potty trained. Preschool is from 8:30 - 11:30, but they do offer a full day program too, where they are there 8:30 - 3pm. And, they have before and after care too, that goes from 7:30am - 5:30pm.

Julie - I've heard of Montessorri schools here too, but they start at 2 as well. Maybe it's a state regulation, I don't know. We never looked into Montessorri, because it's WAY too far away from our house. I already drive 15 minutes to Emily's school, which is plenty for me with these gas prices (thankfully they've been going down).

Robin - I'm glad to hear that Ian adjusted well to his first day.

I might just be interested. I wear a L/XL and it might just fit.

I have emailed updates to everyone about the Wishes Cruise and the Bus Transfers.

If you do not receive your email please let me know and I will try again.

Have a great day everyone!

Great - why don't you PM me your address, I'll send it out and if it fits then you can pay for the shirt and if not we'll try someone else???

Today was a scary day for me.....but everything turned out ok! :cheer2:

I had an appt. to have sclerotherapy on my varicose veins of my right leg. I have terrible veins, and I was really nervous about this proceedure. It's when they inject a chemical into the vein to make it collapse. The injection is guided by an ultrasound. Anyway, it was a breeze! :cool1: Nothing to it! It only took 15 minutes, and then they wrapped the whole leg up in extra wide elastic bandage and off home I went. No restrictions on what I do except no hot tub and no going to the gym ( like I do anyway)! And we never use the hot tub in the summer either.

I have to go back in 2 weeks to have another vein done and then I think I have 1 more. Then I will have the little veins injected, too. We'll see, there's not so much rush on them.

The last time I had work done on my veins was in 1999, and I was in outpatient surgery in the hospital under full anesthesia, and I had 30 incisions on my legs to pull out the bad valves and veins. It was terribly painful!

This was so easy! I just hope it works! ;)

Sounds like a typical day around here with a few modifications. After lunch, the kids go down for naps, wake up about 3:30, snack and structured play until they are picked up. We have field trips here and there but sadly, it seems like a lot of our hang outs are closing. :( We are starting a gym class on Thursdays and I'm working on having a music program come in weekly during the cold winter months. :thumbsup2

Connie, I'm glad this procedure was much less painful and hopefully it will work.

My Mom suffered from varicose veins when I was a kid. I don't know if it's related or not, but she had blood clots after my younger brother was born. I was only 2 at the time and I remember her being on bedrest with the heat lamps for a long time. Then when I was about 10, they did a "stripping" which sounds a lot like what you went through previously. I remember it being a tough go of it, so hopefully you will avoid that this time around.

Glad it all worked out for you Connie! This may be in my future one day as the spider veins are starting to appear.

Connie: Glad to hear that everything is Ok

Ilene: I know what its like to lose your job and having to start from scratch, definitely pulling for you and your DH.

I was up early today. No reason just a personal challenge.
Had a glaucoma exam, this doctor thinks I am doing well, no drops. They did schedule me for another test tommorow morning.

Cheryl

Roxann's going to wait a bit to decide on the shirt so if anyone's going to order a pink large let me know as we'd love to pass it on to someone who can use it rather than have it go to waste.

I have some really wonderful news!!! Tim, my boyfriend is coming with us on the cruise!! I'm so excited! I was hoping they'd be able to fit him in!
