Today was a scary day for me.....but everything turned out ok! :cheer2:

I had an appt. to have sclerotherapy on my varicose veins of my right leg. I have terrible veins, and I was really nervous about this proceedure. It's when they inject a chemical into the vein to make it collapse. The injection is guided by an ultrasound. Anyway, it was a breeze! :cool1: Nothing to it! It only took 15 minutes, and then they wrapped the whole leg up in extra wide elastic bandage and off home I went. No restrictions on what I do except no hot tub and no going to the gym ( like I do anyway)! And we never use the hot tub in the summer either.

I have to go back in 2 weeks to have another vein done and then I think I have 1 more. Then I will have the little veins injected, too. We'll see, there's not so much rush on them.

The last time I had work done on my veins was in 1999, and I was in outpatient surgery in the hospital under full anesthesia, and I had 30 incisions on my legs to pull out the bad valves and veins. It was terribly painful!

This was so easy! I just hope it works! ;)

Glad the procedure was easy! pixiedust: for the others that you have to have done

We are officially up to 38 passengers. At 38 people the round trip motor coach transfer is $18.82 per person. We have 9 unfilled seats so we should have plenty of room to roam.

I emailed everyone today who is riding the bus for payment details. I would like cell phone numbers for everyone who is riding the bus and will have a cell phone with them. This is just in case I need to locate anyone who is late or lost while we are trying to depart on the 22nd or the 26th. I have already confirmed a work order with the bus company so we are all set!

Those of us that will be using ME to and from the airport can call with airline info. at the 2 month mark into MS.

For those needing a taxi or shuttle van over to BCV try to carpool with another DISer
BWV (Diana lyn, tinkerbelle,WDWLVR has their own car)

OKW (#1 mouse and cgcw are already carpooling together)

No Problem! Glad I could get everyone an inexpensive mode of transportation! I figured it saved my family a couple hundred dollars. So it's all good!

The only thing we will miss out on is the M & M Store. We were going to take our DD there since she has never been. I guess it will have to wait for another trip.

A perfect reason to book another trip! :cool1:

I will send you my cell phone number as we get a little closer. We're in the process of changing so I'm not sure yet what the new number will be.

And you saved our family over $100 and we weren't even renting a car! Awesome job! Thanks again! :thumbsup2

Well, I haven't really posted much in the last few days, but the bday party is over and I survived! It got a little scary Saturday morning when all of a sudden, the beatiful day that was forecast all week turned into rain for most of the day. So I had the Weather Channel on all morning and when my Dad got here he was like, watching the Weather Channel isn't gonna do anything, just go with it. So, I had stuff half set up outside and half inside and began to scope out a location in the house to hang the pinata from. :scared1: Well, God and Mother Nature were on my side for a change and while it was pouring at noon, by 1, party time, it was just misting out. By the time the last guest arrived it wasn't raining a bit! :cool1: Still very overcast and cloudy I was able to pull of having 24 adults, 10 3 year olds and 2 babies out in the yard! Some of the kids even went in the pool.

The true highlight of the party was provided by my brother. I don't think I talk about him much. He's a teacher in Buffalo and while he was in school worked as an exotic pet specialist in a reptile store. Over the years he's traveled all over doing educational programs for kids with his animals. He's had every sort of pet under the sun, and quite a few of his pets have been on TV shows like Jay Leno, the Today Show, the Early Show. He's friends with Jeff Corwin and he has used his animals on shows in the past. He's had alligators, an octopus, a couple of dozen snakes, all sorts of lizards. You name it, he's had it--except a dog or cat. He's not into ordinary animals. Anyway--this was the entertainment he brought for Emma's party. They were a huge hit with the kids.

Roxann--the red footed tortoise. Who not only ate most of the broccoli out of my garden....she ate an entire piece of chicken.

And Chewie (Chewbacca) the tarantula. :scared1:

How cool Diana! I'm sure the kids loved it. Ok, I like the turtle but the spider makes me go ewwwwwwww! Glad the rain decided to cooperate for the party!

WOW, great price! Thanks again Roxann, I will put my check in the mail to you. I will also include my cell phone # - ok, John's # since I never turn my phone on. :teeth:

Diana,

I'm glad the weather cooperated. That's the one thing you have no control over when having a party. Looks like someone was looking out for you.

Please don't tell my kids what your brother does :scared: as I'm sure they would be very impressed. They already have plans of owning a pet store and sometimes I feel like we live in a zoo. I know they would think it was awesome and very cool and want one of everything that he's ever dealt with. We'll stick with our little zoo here -- no need to add anything more. Just last week, we added another frog, a couple beta fish and 4-5 hermit crabs. That's definately enough for us, along with the regular fish, rabbits and dog.

I'm glad the party was a success.

Did your brother give any of those animals to the girls?

It's funny that you ask that. When Jimmy brought out the tank with the tarantula in it, Bruce says to me, I can't believe he bought them a pet without asking us! :rotfl2: Lucky for us, Roxanne and Chewie went back to Buffalo. Emma got an Ariel doll and an Ariel lunchbox/packpack and Julia got a Cinderella doll and lunchbox/backpack. Rella is Julia's favorite!

No comment on the chicken eating turtle that shares my name;)

:surfweb: Morning everyone,

Chat WAS fun last night and I was the SOLE SURVIVOR - darn no million bucks:sad2:. Oh well I'd just have to pay taxes on it anyway or I'd have the likes of Jeff and Stacy on me and get locked up like Richard Hatch:scared1:.

Happy monday all!!

Richard Hatch was stupid along with his accountant. Like hello you don't win something like that on TV then "forget" to report it to the IRS.

Nice One-Two punch there.
Curt's just being a smart-alec
