On last year's Member Cruise, we checked with the DCL CM at our resort. They gave us the pick up number to call. We got the pick up times at other resorts from them. I no longer have that number.

On another note... I don't know who cancelled, I just know from DVC that cancellations have come in. That's why I'm hoping we will be able to go!

Cool, thanks Georgie!! I figured that I would at least give it a try.

I hope it will work out for you. We know there have been calls on the waitlist as Karen (ohiominnie) was called not long ago and passed up on the cruise. So, people are calling.

And.....aren't we to the 75 day window?

Cindy's right - Karen did get called but had to turn it down. When did you put yourself on the waitlist Georgie? Hopefully it will come through but since we are at the 75 day window I don't know if many others will cancel.

hello fellow cruisers! today was my big day, the day to book for the cruise. and i guess being a castaway club member has its priviledges cuz there wasn't much pickings left. and what was left occurred at bad times. plus being on PST at 3 hours behind doesn't help either.

this will be our first DCL experience. can anyone provide tips on:

1. getting a Palos reservation? when i tried to book, nothing was available for brunch or dinner. am i out of luck? :badpc:

2. couldn't find Cabana Massage in either the Castaway Cay Excursion list or spa listing. does that mean it's all booked up and i'm out of luck? :confused3

3. spa treatments were available for booking. but i thought the spa would be closed due to its expansion. so is the spa up and running for our cruise? :thumbsup2 :cool1:

4. since i saw spa treatments available, i booked the Well Being Massage for Couples (at first thinking it was the Cabana Massage but learned it wasn't). but the only time i could get was 4:30-5:45pm. and i have early dinner seating. 15 minutes is too short of time to prepare for dinner. can i go into dinner late? or cancel the massage treatment to play it safe? if i knew my dining rotation assignment, then i can help gage it out since dressy dinner (ie-triton's) will take more than 15 minutes to prep for dinner. unfortunately, we won't know our dining assignment until oct. 22. and last day to cancel anything without penalty is oct. 20. so lose-lose situation.... :guilty:

appreciate any help from the experts and veteran cruisers out there! thanks! :grouphug:

Ok, I'll try to help a little.

With Palo, no you're not completely out of luck. If you can, get to the port as early as possible. Then, as soon as you get on the ship, go to where they are doing Palo reservations, you will get a sheet when you check in. Rumor has it that they keep back 50% (could be more or less) of the reservations for those to book onboard. That way, someone without a computer isn't completely out of luck.

I can't help you with the spa stuff, because the spa just isn't my thing.

And all this time I thought we were long lost sisters! :sad2:

As for the spa questions, they did say after the initial "closed reports" that the spa would be open, just the fitness center will be closed.

I don't see why you couldn't go into dinner a little late, as long as you aren't walking in when they are serving the main courses. There is a rotation list around here somewhere that tells you where you'll be eating which day if you have each rotation, so you may be able to get some sort of idea if it's Triton's what time you'll be scheduled and how much time you'll have to get ready. The search function isn't working for me but maybe someone knows it. Worst case is you have the 6 pm seating, if you think it's going to take you a half hour to get ready, you'll be at dinner by 6:15 which really isn't that late, you'll miss appetizers. If you do go late, you should just tell your tablemates and servers the night before so they can expect you but not wait for you.

Oh, I like the spa, just not on the ship. I can't seem to pull myself away from other stuff to do the spa onboard.

Especially on the Member Cruise. I'm wondering what we are going to have to miss to do brunch.

See, that's where my dilemma comes in. I didn't book brunch because at first, they were showing it on our CC day, so I knew it was wrong. I guess I should have done it, figuring that they would move it. Anyway, I just don't want to miss anything, so I'm debating going to the Palo ressies onboard to get a brunch ressie.

Currently, we have dinner at Palo for our last night, but I'm not even sure I want to keep that. I know that nothing special really happens in the dining room, it's just that I hate to miss dinner with my DIS friends. But, Chris just adores Palo.

Ohhh, decisions, decisions!!

I have to make sure you have my work phone number :thumbsup2 , and keep my SW # handy. I have credits with them and I'm hoping the price goes down so my credits can take care of my return flight!

We are not doing Palo, we didn't do it on the last cruise either. I would rather eat with my whole family and my wonderful table mates. I can eat out with DH anytime!

OK, phew! That's better! I'm skipping the spa this cruise. I was really hoping they were going to offer the Spa Villas like on the Magic for our cruise, and would have booked one in a heartbeat. On SSMC05 I booked the algae detox treatment and that was devine! I did it on Key West day though, at 8am so I didn't miss anything. This cruise I didn't want to miss being on CC early and I didn't want to miss out on any of the fun during the Day at Sea.

I may try to squeeze in a visit to the Spa at SSR when I'm down in two weeks. That Maple Brown Sugar Scrub is to die for!
