• What was the #1 reason you booked this particular cruise?

All my DIS friends are on it, and 2005 was our first, and I'd hate to miss any DVC cruises now

• What excursions are you looking at for Castaway Cay?

Stingrays with Emily, Banana Boat with the DIS ladies, Parasailing for Chris

• Are you hoping that DVC offers some exclusive merchandise for sale again?

Sure, we love anything DVC.

• If you could only visit one Disney park on a visit which would it be and why?

MK - it's the girls' favorite, and I love seeing it through their eyes

• Are you planning any time before or after the cruise at WDW? If so when.

One day before, to play at SAB at BCV and 2 days after to go to F&W and MNSSHP

• What do you think makes DIS DVC'ers different from other DVC'ers?

We've created "relationships" ahead of time, so it's like cruising with friends.

On our January cruise they also had strawberry topping at the new Scoops area. But even then it was hit or miss....sometimes they had it, sometimes they didn't.
Here's an idea for the ice cream---we did it several times on our double dip cruise.....get a soda cup from the deck 9 drink station. Take it and fill it 1/3 to 1/2 full of ice cream. Go back to the drink station and fill it with Coke. Unfortunately, no root beer was available, but at least a Coke float was close!!! Yummmm

Mary, were those goodies in Cove Cafe free? Oh, sorry, I mean "INCLUDED?" They looked good, but I was leary to grab one and then find out I had to pay!!!

They sure are! I went up to deck 9 one morning and made myself a nice cup of tea at the drink station. I then walked over to Cove Cafe and sat down at one of the wicker chairs. Went it and picked up a piece of stollen bread. No one blinked an eye and later the girl even came out and picked up the plate from me. No questions asked.

What excursions are you looking at for Castaway Cay? I'm not sure. I am just excited to bring my girls there for the first time.

If you could only visit one Disney park on a visit which would it be and why?
MK because that is my girls favorite park

Are you planning any time before or after the cruise at WDW? If so when. We are staying at BCV until Oct 30.

What do you think makes DIS DVC'ers different from other DVC'ers I think last year it was so cool that we all showed up with our t-shirts and buttons. It was fun just to know people before the cruise.

• If you could only visit one Disney park on a visit which would it be and why? I think Epcot. Love MK, but we always spend more time at Epcot.

• Are you planning any time before or after the cruise at WDW? If so when. One full day before and two days after - staying at Boardwalk.

• What do you think makes DIS DVC'ers different from other DVC'ers? Definately the friendships that are made. The chance to get to know others through this thread gives us a great way to exchange ideas and make those friendships.

What was the #1 reason you booked this particular cruise? Since we have met so many DVC'ers through the first two Member Cruises and the Member Homecoming, we just had to book this one and sail with our friends.

What excursions are you looking at for Castaway Cay? Other than the Banana Boats I haven't thought about anything else. Probably just alot of relaxing time on the beach. Oh, we might rent the bikes and ride around, I think Deanna would like that.

Are you hoping that DVC offers some exclusive merchandise for sale again? Yes, I liked the shirts and pins that they offered.

If you could only visit one Disney park on a visit which would it be and why? MK. I love to stand at the end of Main Street looking towards the Castle and soak up the atmosphere.

Are you planning any time before or after the cruise at WDW? If so when. We will be in Friday before the cruise and will be staying somewhere on property. After the cruise we will stay for 3 nights at BCV (that is if my first night comes through off the waitlist)

What do you think makes DIS DVC'ers different from other DVC'ers? I think DIS DVC'ers have more people to share their obsession oops I mean LOVE of Disney, DVC & DCL and I feel DIS DVC'ers just seem to be more "in the know".

Gail - I'm glad you mentioned the bikes. I know Cindy did the bikes last year. They have a new bike trail open on the island and they are building an observation tower on it. The bike trail starts about 1/2 way down the runway to the adult beach and goes in a big loop. Mark took it so I'll let him share the details with you. I think it is a nice addition for those who like to ride.

We did the bikes on the 1st Member Cruise, so it will be nice to have an new path to take. Would like to hear more about the observation tower - Hey, Mark are you out there?

Just a word of caution: Anyone riding a bike and would like to take a picture of the plane at the end of the runway - do not try to take the picture while still riding your bike Sorry Carol, I just had to say that

Wow - you've all been busy - it will take me a while to read up on all the posts.
Have to go thru the mail and see if I got anything for the cruise.

Trip went fast - lots of running but we did get the baby down to the beach - wow that water was cold!!!

Everyone loves the baby - he was good for most of the time but does not like to be in the car for more than 8 hrs. We did stop on the way back to Michigan to see a few relatives in Ohio and that broke up the trip nicely for him.

Will read up on all your posts later today - still have to unpack.

I was soooo jealous from the other member cruises and I figure now they have all the kinks (if there were any) worked out. Plus it just worked out to be a great way to spend our 25th Anniversary albeit a bit late.

None, really maybe parasailing.

YES!

EPCOT, I love the variety of activities available, the cool attractions and the delicious food choices. I don't have young children anymore or it would be MK.

Yes, we will spend Thur - Sun at the Parks after the cruise. 1 night at SSR and two nights at Pop Century.
* What do you think makes DIS DVC'ers different from other DVC'ers?
Whenever there is "community" there is a link and a bond formed with others . It enriches your life in ways you can't even imagine. I keep trying to get a link on DIS, I think now I've found it. It was easier on Mouseforless because it was small when it started (now it's huge too) and I was in on the ground floor. This board seems to be a nice size and you can actually get to know each other.

We will be there for a long weekend too but after you :-( I have to drop my DD off at college. She goes to Embry Riddle in Daytona...soooo of course I have to get my disney fix. DH drives down with my DD, it's too long for me so I'm flying in on Wed Aug 23rd. We'll get her settled (with bank accts., dorm needs etc) and have a mini vaca at the same time. We'll stay until Sunday Aug 27th. YAY. I have to get my new AP's too as mine ran out in May. Lucky DD goes all year round now that she's in Daytona. She'll call and say, "yeah, were going to Comedy Warehouse tonight" or "I'm spending the day at MK" Ohhh how envious I get, LOL!

Magic Kingdom - it was the first; my first; and is the nearest thing to Walt's heart when it was created

Camaraderie, genuine friendships, and a common sense of ownership and pride in DVC

woo hoo!
Finally something to make this cruise feel real!
We got the big yellow envelope with the Disney Cruise Line logo, and I sang and skipped into the house to open it! Okay maybe just went weee under my breathe, but when I got it, I did yell for the family!

In case it hasn't been posted yet, it was the "My Cruise Travel Kit." Lets us know when we can go online and plan Excursions, etc.

Does anyone know the cost of bus translportation to WDW from the cruise line?
