Hello all, I have finally told the family that we are going on the member cruise--I was not going to tell them until September but my DS aged 9 fell off his bike and broke his arm both bones on Friday and may need surgery at the fracture is not very stable but they have it in a plaster cast from fingers to armpit and a f/u in 10 days to see if it has shifted or not. Since this ruins his summer sports camp--too risky for him to either play anything for fear of falling on arm or someone falling into him. Swimming is out for a least 2 wks (until we can get a waterproof cast) and the soccer team and water polo team are also out of the question for at least 6-8 weeks. He was really upset by this whole thing but quite brave so I felt I had to do something to try and cheer him up since he is pretty much sedentary for the next few weeks. The look on both DS 9 & 4 and hubby was great!. I am glad in a way that I told them as I was busting at the seam some days to tell them.

Now for the important question--we are going down a few days early and do not have any more DVC points left (we are staying at Boardwalk on points after the cruise) but need somewhere to stay pre-cruise--any suggestions?

Also, besides having to send our photo in and ordering some t-shirts, have I missed anything else that I am "supposed" to do. I rec'd a package in the mail last week from Disney about the cruise but I know that you all have some great stuff going and I am trying to keep up with it but it is not easy so please let me know.

Jacqui

So sorry to hear about your son.
Something similair happened to my girlfriends daughter. she's on the softball team and while sliding into home she broker her ankle in 3 places. She's been in a cast for about 4 week already and has at least another 4 weeks to go.
To make it worse her first day back to school after breaking it was a bad day. Her school has 3 floors and she had to use the elevator to get to some of her clases well her last class was on the third floor and they had a problem with the elevator so she missed the bus to go home. So the poor girl called her mom at work crying becasue she was tired and upset.

I was going to ask my wonderful DIS friends if they would like to her cheer her up by sending her a postcard. I thought it would be cool for her to get a postcard from different places saying get well or whatever. If anyone is interested in doing that just send me a pm and I'll send you the address.
Just fyi I did ask her Mom before posteing this if it would be ok and she thought it would be great.
Thanks

Is there anything that you are doing on a regular basis (besides for this thread) to keep you excited about SSMC06?

Well the CJ does help and I am SO IN for the CJ after the next cruise!!
We also like to pull out the Disney Cruise planning DVD and watch that sometimes or just working on my scrapbook of the cruise and of course this thread!!

Oh I am excited to see that The Flying Dutchman from Pirates has reached CC and may be there through the end of the year. Rumors are all over the place on how long it's staying at the island but I hope that it's there for our visit :cool1:

I see a great family picture in my future if it is still there in October.
I think that might be my Christmas card too!

It would be awesome if it was there!

I know Amy was curious about my Cricut and other before had questions, so I thought I'd share some things I made with the new cartridge I got today!

They are little gift bags that are about 4-5 inches high. They are great for gift cards or jewelry gifts. I'm also going to use them for baby shower/wedding shower favors with chocolates in them. And I'll use them for the Target cards I get as tips for the kids clubs CMs!

They look great.
I stopped at AC Moore in Saratoga today and put my name in the raffle to win one but sadly I didn't get a call to say I won. (of course).
Oh well I'll have to wish for a fairygodmother to throw some ectra money into my account so I could possible get one.

That's funny because I always go to the Saratoga one and today I went to the Latham one! I also put my name in and didn't win. I had it all planned out to exchange it for like 3 cartridges too! :lmao:

Do you think she'd like to get one from as far away as Glenville? :lmao: Seriously though, we're going to Hershey next week so that may be something cool for her so I'll pm you!

Have you gotten your Cricut yet, Diana? I'm trying to decide between the Cricut and the Wishblade. I bought the Cricut from QVC when it was on, and it was shipped this week. The Wishblade is more $$$, but it will cut any TTF font, which I have a TON of. Chris says that the WB is the better deal, since you don't have to buy cartidges, but you have to have it hooked up to your computer, where the Cricut is a stand-alone unit. I'm SO confused!!!
I have a Wishblade, and though I haven't had time to use it as much as I'd like I love it. Especially since they upgraded the s/w so that you can now cut any TTF. There are several WB Yahoo groups that have lots of info and files to share. You can join any/all of them to help you decide.

What a neat idea!
Stacy please pm me her address.

Jacqui would your son like to receive postcards from the people he will be cruising with? Maybe it would help him pass the time a little quicker.

I can't drive until Wednesday, so I will go out then and get my postcards. :drive:

Diana, those gift bags are soooo cute! What great party favors those will make. ::yes::

Thanks to everyone for the Birthday wishes! We had a very quiet day today. Went to Target this morning and came home and took a nap! My dd came by and put out the rest of my summer patio stuff - chairs, tiki torches and things.

We actually celebrated my birthday with the family last week on Father's Day so I got my Birthday gifts early. Lots of cool Disney stuff! :Pinkbounc

Stacy - send me a pm and I'll send a post card too!

Jaqui - I'd by happy to do the same for your son too.

Annmarie

Thank you ebay-ers for all your advise. I sent a message - through ebay - to the seller stating that I don't believe it's my responsibility to pay the extra shipping cost since it was her decision to go through UPS not mine. I'll let you know how this plays out.

:bday: :cheer2: Happy Birthday Gail and Tom :cheer2: :bday:

Boy you all were busy posters yesterday. I had 6 pages to catch up with. Went to see DaVinci Code. i had read the book and I thought the movie was good. Wanted to see Cars but it was sold out :sad2:

Trying to investigate all sorts of therapies for my disk problem. I'm looking into Svaroopa Yoga and Cranial Sacral Therapy. I'd like to let it alone if possible because the other things will cost alot of money and not sure if they work but I definately need to get back to work and if those other things will help so be it.

Robin, I'm a long time ebayer and you should NOT have to pay those costs for the alternate shipping. She/he should have emailed you prior to shipping to explain the situation. You have the opportunity to comment on their feedback score. You may want to agree to paying half as a compromise if you intend to do more business with this person.

Oh yeah, something else I wanted to alert the Croc fanatics about...they have NEW stuff on their website, tshirts, hoodies, visors, new crocs, croc SOCKS! Have FUN! :dance3:

It got a new pair of Athens last week (white with orange footbed) and then after I got home I saw the new "off roads" and "scutes", so I'm going to need 2 more pairs!

Diana,
My dd and I want the off roads ones too. :thumbsup2 They were out of the visors, dd wants one of those and somehow I think I must spring for a pr of socks. She has a birthday in Sept so...

One more post for this am ...I promise. What the heck are Circle Journals?
And now I'm going to "google" for cricut and wishblade. I'm not into scrapbooking but I sure think those bags are really cute!
Today I'm off to the yarn/fabric store with a friend for a 25% off sale :thumbsup2 I still can't knit (hurts my arm too much )but that doesn't stop me from adding to my SABLE (stash accumulation beyond life expectancy) :rotfl2:
Oh and I bought a LIME green tshirt at ACMoore on Saturday and printed a transfer that has one of my favorite sayings on it: Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!" But I wasn't careful and it printed a little wrong (left out a word on the end) and now I've ruined the shirt. Tried to fix with permanent marker but I don't think it will wash well. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good transfer sheet. I used Avery but it comes out a bit stiff and shiny.

Good morning everyone! Happy Monday and back to work for me. Wow I missed out on a lot here the last couple of days. Let me catch up :)

First off - Jacqui :welcome: to the group! As you can see this is a very fun and welcoming group of people. If you haven't been there already you can get to our web page by clicking on the Member Cruise logo in my signature. We are trying to keep all the important information about the cruise up there (and need to do some updates) so that they don't get missed in all the fun we tend to have on the cruise meets board. :) I'm Mary and will be sailing with my DH Mark (aka MarkRG). This is our 3rd Member Cruise and we love all the Member events (as you can tell from my signature). You can send your info and picture to me at member2006@monorailgreen.info Also if you want to send me your sons name and address I have a postcard that I think will lift his spirits.

Diana - love the cute little bags you made. I have an idea for one of them. I'll send you a pm.

Ilene - thanks for the info on new crocs. I'll have to go check them out. I like the look of the slide one.

Cindy - how are you doing now that Cameron is at camp? Hopefully you aren't missing him too much.
