Oh by the way, MCO has a CROC store in the airport.

The prices in the CROC store at MCO are very decent. Much better than I have paid around here for both Walker's & mine. Hopefully they will stay that way so anyone who is in the market gets in on the deal.

In hindsight, I wish we had stopped back. Gary wants to try them and I'm starting to need a new pair -- although with summer coming, I won't be wearing mine very often. As my feel sweat in them for some reason. I'm sure going to miss them. :sad2:

Well, I'm done with painting for today. I'm exhausted!!! We've finished one side of the house, and the front of the house by the garage completely, eaves and all. Whew!!! However, we still have a LOT more to do, as far as the eaves/trim work (front door area, front of the house, south & east facing side of the house). YIKES!! That just made me realize how much is left. Oh well!

This is exactly why I painted our house -- ONCE!! Never again. It doesn't look like it's such a big job, until you get started. Then it becomes a never ending job. With Emily & Madison it's even harder. Cameron was about 3 when I tackled our house. We went from dark, dark brown to white. A coat of primer & two coats of white for each side. Then when I finished the house, I still had to do the detached garage and the shed. :faint:

It literally took me just about the entire summer. Being I work full time, it left nights and weekends to work on it. I'm sure my neighbors were just as happy as I was when it was finally finished. Well, not quite, but close. ;)

Never again!

To those of you doing the circle journal from the 2005 cruise

First off I am sorry if this is too late but I have some things left from doing my scrapbook. I have some Member cruise post cards, a few tops of the Navigators, one of the fan hands (without the wooden handle), The member photo on the beach, the Royal proclemation, and a few other odds and ends, If anyone is interested let me know and I would be happy to send it off.

What a nice offer. ::yes::

Thanks...I think I'm all set!

Steve, you really need to think about doing the circle journal after the October cruise. It really is a lot of fun!

Hopefully by now you've had the chance to do some laundry and can answer this question. Does it take a lot longer to do a load in a front loader than in a top loader? I've been eyeing those front loaders for a while, but while we were at VWL last week I went to the laundry room to do our laundry. There was one top loader and one front loader. The front loader, while using less water and soap, took more than twice as long to do one load! The woman who came in after me complained about it too and we decided that a man must have made the decision to put it in (no offense, Mark). It was an LG brand.

I can answer this question as this month I just got a new LG front load washer. YES!! It takes forever to do a load of laundry in it. The timer says anywhere between 52 and 55 minutes. I guess it bases the time on the weight of the load because when you hit start, the drum spins one way then the other and then stops and the time comes up. :confused3 I do love my new set though.

I just got home from an all day crop and boy am I tired! I wasn't very productive and only got 5 pages done today. :sad2: Thankfully, 2 were Cindy's circle journal! :cheer2: Now I'm busy trying to unpack my "luggage" and make some order out of this office again. Boy could I use a nap!

How sweet of you to offer. I'm a pack rat so I have it all but that was very generous of you!

Well, if no one else will come forward, I'd love them. I don't think that I actually saved everything from SSMC05. I don't know what I was thinking.

Amy can have them since she wants them. Like Stacy, I'm a pack rat and have a drawer full of stuff left over!

Send me a PM with an address then Maam and it is all yours. Hopefully you can use some of it.

Must be a thing with LG. I've only run one load in ours sofar as a test run and no it did not take 55 minutes. When I set the knob to the type of load I get the times right upfront. I'm personally not too big a fan of LG; you might recognize their old name of Goldstar, and were known for products in the past with issues like that.

Ian and I are heading down to S.A. today so I'll be offline for the next week. Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Passover and/or Happy Easter

before we leave. See y'all when we get back.

Steve -thanks for the offer but I had plenty to do my pages with. Sounds like Amy is the lucky recipient!

I forgot to tell you because I got your book when you were away, but I love your CJ. I think it's awesome!! And the people at the crop thought so too! No one had ever even heard of a circle journal and everyone thought the idea was great. Of course they did think I was insane because I meet people from the internet. :lmao: But that is how I met Bruce too....

28 Weeks!!!

Guess I'll just have to keep myself busy til then -

At least I finally have a trip to WDW coming up in a few weeks!

Then I'll have to plan to get out to DL and then it should be cruise time!!!

Ok, the first load of 'real' laundry is thru and I can say a bit more. I didn't want to make any assumptions as I know a lot about how industrial washers work but didn't know how much got picked up by these household frontloaders. When set on 'normal wash', the time is set by another setting called 'soil level'. On light, it's 35 minutes, on medium(default) it's 40 and on heavy, it's 55. That time, just like on a top loader, doesn't include filling the washer with water. It also has special compartments for soap, fabric softener and bleach, which it will flush in at the proper times during the wash cycle, not right at the beginning, you don't pour anything in with the load. It goes thru a wash cycle that is different than a top loader as it only brings in enough water to wash the clothes in, it doesn't fill the tub. This gives a much more agressive wash as the clothes are actually tumbled instead of just swished in a tub of water.

The real key to time saving is the final spin. It spins the tub with much more speed than a top loader. What that means is the load is going to have a great deal less moisture than a top loader would at the end, and will take far less less time to dry.

This happens thru the invention of a device that can actually control the electricity going to the motor making it run at any speed instead of one fixed speed. It can basically have an infinite number of basket rotation speeds, which gives the load a much better chance to spin evenly as the basket goes up from wash to spin, than go off balance and stop with a buzzer like top loaders. As Diana may have already noticed, the frontloaders don't stop if it is off balance, they just slow back down and retumble the load and try again until it gets it reasonably smooth.

Now don't go thinking I'm saying LG is bad either. It may just be some setting that can be changed to get a shorter wash. That's always been their one difference; they wind up having some feature that may seem like a problem, but is just misunderstood. The Goldstars were like that too, nice functional equipment but some odd features.
