Congrats to Diana on post #6000!

And since no one is here I'll snag the reply! :cheer2:

Okay! Now I know why WE are waitlisted for BCV before the cruise. EVERYONE else is trying to stay there too! :lmao:

Right now we have SSR for the two nights before the cruise (thought it was a good location in case DVC does a Bon voyage party). DD wants to stay @ BCV so we are waitlisted for a studio. I never tried BWV. Maybe I will call to check availabilty for BWV just in case BCV does not come through.

Safe travels for all those traveling down to WDW. Have a great time! Can't wait to hear all about your mini-meet at dinner Sunday night.

We were able to get a Standard View studio at BWV today so give it a shot! Also, we could have had a 1 br at BCV, we just didn't want to spend those weekend points that way.

WOW, we weren't able to get a standard view at BWV, so someone must have cancelled between my call and yours Julie!! We were also able to get a 1BR, but we only wanted a studio, so we just took the BWV studio and waitlisted for the BCV studio.

Ok that is weird! Perhaps someone nabbed a BCV room while you were on the phone? So bizarre we have standard as I fully expected preferred. Course without your note I would not have thought to call or ask about BWI. We are really hoping to switch and check some luggage at the resort till we return :)

For now we are at BWV before and after the cruise. I have thought about trying to waitlist for somewhere before but can't decide where?

Amy - I have not bought our trip insurance either... we paid all cash... where are you looking???

Anyone else - who do you use for travel insurance? I have never bought it.

3 weeks till Disney!!!!! :cheer2:

Hey there!

I missed you guys on the thread last night. There was a major fire at a Bakery about 10 miles from our house and it burned something at a transformer for the cable so no tv or internet for us last night.

Thanks for all the Birthday wishes for Jeff. I'll show him on Friday when he gets back from Long Island!

:cheer2: Happy Birthday Mark!!! :cheer2:

Congrats to Cindy. I'm so happy that Gary is able to go to Florida with you guys. Have a fantastic trip!

I would love, ;ove, love to take the Med cruise but I don't think the pocketbook can handle it.
Right now I'm hoping that a job offer my sister is contemplating pans out because I might be able to tag along with her and go to Cairo Egypt!
It's a long story but my sister is a fitness instructor and personel trainer and was offered a job as a personel trainer for this entrepenaur (sp?) who has homes in Dubai and Cairo!

We've never purchased insurance either. You'd think this FL girl would know better traveling in hurricane season, but I still haven't. But, I'm thinking about it this time! Our problem was that we booked 1/2 cash and 1/2 points, so I thought my only option was through Disney.

Good morning everyone. We haven't purchased insurance yet and should. We're 1/2 points and 1/2 cash as well. Need to look into what to do.

Gary finally came home at 9 last night. We are off to the airport in a little while. I guess Gary really had to sweeten the deal so someone would do his oncall this week. Eventually one of the guys offered up so all is well. :thumbsup2

We're off to Disney World!! :jumping1: :jumping1: I'll see some of you in a couple of days :cool1: :cool1: unless we run into you unexpectedly. :smooth:

I know a day early. As I won't have access to a computer tomorrow -- after all I will be on vacation and have my priorities straight ;) , I'll wish Mary a Happy Birthday a day early. Hey, it worked for Mark, why not Mary? :rotfl2:

:cheer2: :cheer2: :bday: Happy Early Birthday, Mary!!! :bday: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Good morning cruisers!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, tomorrow's Mary's turn, then on Saturday we'll actually go celebrate them both :)

I've never purchased trip insurance, and we've been lucky. However, considering that it is hurricane season, it might not be a bad idea this go around. How does it work?

Olaf - I learned about it last year on the DVC member cruise thread and am happy to pass on what I learned. On the site above (it's one of several sites recommended) you enter in your information (age, cost of cruise etc) and then they provide quotes to you for several carriers so you can compare. The best time to purchase the insurance is normally within the first 7 - 21 days after initial payment as that is when you can get full medical coverage regardless of pre existing situations, however, we purchased ours about 4 months before the cruise last year and had good coverage. The site is helpful in explaining items and you can click through the policies to determine the difference.

The way I figure is that if I purchase the insurance nothing will happen :Pinkbounc but if I don't then we might be at risk. Plus, last year my grandfather went into ICU the day we left on our trip and we almost had to come home from Key West. The insurance would have reimbursed us for those expenses and the lost cruise portion as he was not sick or in the hospital when we booked the trip. It was good peace of mind.

Did you guys hear about the two cruise tragedies? First the bus crash that killed members of an excursion from Celebrity cruise lines, then the fire on a Princess ship. Very very sad.

I just saw the Princess fire on MSNBC, how terrible. I was shocked by how damaged the outside of the ship was and can't imagine how scary it was for the people sleeping in those cabins.

I saw it on the local news. At first, I thought that it was a small fire, but when I saw the picture I was just in awe! I couldn't believe how HUGE it was. They are lucky that the injuries were as low as they were. It could have been SO much worse. They said that it started on a balcony, so I wonder how that got started?????
